today my parensts were sayign that girls and boys usually shouldnt tak to eachother n everytihng .. we were talking bout marriages and siad there is no love before marriage etc ... apparenlty they say its in the Quran ..
and i said that its all crap .. n they were like so ur saying islam is crap ? how do i expalni it to them .. i told them that they just belive whatever their parents told them .. ddo u think it was right to say crap ? -
I know how you feel in the situation your in because i've been there before. You will have to be more constructive with your replies instead of simply saying its 'crap' lol
I mean something like asking to find it in the Quran so you can discuss the verse is a start. Or just debating with them is the simple and effective way for example like Prophet Moses's stick(Your Truth, logic, reasoning, Quran etc.) ate away the magicians(Parents) fake sticks(falsehood like tradition, hadiths etc.) when they try to present their magic to the crowd. wink
It does take time and effort to bring someone out the cultural shackles and only with debating you can show them the truth BUT it's upto the recieving end with what they do with that. Hence God's system does not have any compulsion so there's only so much you can do BUT never give up, be patient and keep praying to God.

My advice would be that you arm yourself with numbers (chapterverse).
When I personally went up to my family to break it to them about these kinds of things they would just not believe me, so now i always arm myself with numbers before i go in, so they have to believe you with what you say.
Numbers may be shorter than words, but they're a hell of a lot more believable!
