I have been Sunni for a decade, but I need help now. Serious help!
-
Salamu alaykum everyone
I'm going to jump right into it and not waste too much of your time
Who am I?
I love Sunni Islam, I am a Hanafi.. I was first a Hanafi for a couple of years, and then a Salafi for over 5 years, and reverted back to Sunni Islam and have been sunni for a couple years now. Recently I have been getting these thoughts that I can't explain and it's because of some hadiths within our books. I've tried to reason myself with these hadiths but the thoughts are still there and I can't reasonably give an answer to these questions if for example a non Muslim were to ask me these questions. I've tried to find Fatwas to explain everything but failed. Some Fatwas do shed some reason to the questions but I'm not satisfied.Sunnis Please help me understand this because I don't want to end up going to Jahannam due to my own ignorance. Islam is a deen that makes sense and I have found logical answers to all doubts I have ever had regarding the Sunnah, I know deep down that there's answers, but I have just failed to find them.
Quranists I know that these questions is what has made you leave sunni Islam, so you don't have to affirm much to me, but if you've found reasonable answers made by Sunnis to these questions, even if you still have chosen to follow the Qur'an only, still share the answers with me please.
Issue #1
The marriage between 'A'ishah and our prophet ﷺ
Why are there narrations (that are deemed authentic) where 'Aishah says (in context) "I was 6 when he married me, 9 when he consumated the marriage and I used to play with dolls"? This doesn't feel like something the wife of God's prophet would say because in my view this is just fuel for the enemies of Islam. Not only did the hadith say that she was 9 (which today is deemed to be a child), but the narration went a step further and added "And I used to play with dolls" which solidifies the case that she was a child. Why would 'Aishah say that she used to play with dolls when he ﷺ consummated their marriage? Isn't that unnecessary information, or was it necessary, and if so, why? It looks like this hadith was added to these books by an enemy of the prophet to me and I can't help but to think it was... a girl that plays with dolls is a child and any sane person would agree to this, and the only reason it was mentioned in this hadith (in my genuine reasoning) is to convey that she still was a child when the prophet had intercourse with her. How is this reasonably explained to anyone who asks about this hadith? If someone asks "did your prophet have sex with a child?" What are we to answer, in all seriousness? No? Wouldn't we be lying in that case? Or do mature girls (girls who enter puberty) play with dolls? Was this normal in ancient Arabia?
Issue #2
A 6 year old marrying a middle aged man is not befitting, even according to the prophet ﷺ himself
Abu Bakr and Umar asked the Prophet (ﷺ) for Fatimah's (as) hand in marriage. He said, "She is young." Ali then asked for her marriage and he married her to him."
(Sunan Nasai #3221; Mustadrak Hakim #2705 (certifies the tradition as authentic by the criteria of Bukhari and Muslim); Fada il Hanbal #1051; Kanz al-Ummal #36370; Riyad al-Nadirah 3144)
Hakim says, "This tradition is authentic by the criteria of both Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) but neither of them included it" (Mustadrik Hakim #2705).
According to sunni scholar Ibn Sa'd (Al-Tabaqat al-Kubra 819)
The narration above is said to be mutawatir, it's narrated in very many sources (I can provide at least 10 sources where it is mentioned).
The question is How is Fatima too young for Abu Bakr, but 'Aishah not too young for our prophet ﷺ?! Isn't that kind of inconsistent? It seems to me that one of these narrations must be fabricated and my reason is telling me that it is the one in Bukhari, because people in general in the world are in critique of it. Those Hadiths are being spread on Facebook, Twitter (X) and elsewhere and the masses are very shocked and abhorred by what it says. The last prophet of God, his actions shouldn't cause that reaction. I wouldn't dare telling my own mother and father about those Hadiths because of the expected reaction. Scholars in biology are also claiming that it's proven that it's not healthy for a 9 year old to be having intimate relations with a grown man. How is all of this resolved? How do we explain this? To say that it was normal back then is also not quite accurate. I know of one other person who married a 9 year old and it was a french person, not sure exactly when, but it's him and our prophet (as far as I know, please correct me if I'm absolutely wrong).
Issue #3
Why is Islam unrecognizable without the Sunnah? I get the feeling that Islam actually isn't as strict without the Sunnah, and that Allah left us with a very easy religion with very "easy" regulations that don't make it hard to explain to non muslims, Allah perfected our religion and Revealed an Ayah saying so when we didn't have any Hadith books around. 200 years later and then came people who fabricated a lot, and even though we know that they fabricated a lot, we still chose to look for the good in it, i.e. take the good and leave the bad. That's why we have noticed these ambiguous things in the sunnah but not in the Qur'an. I'll give some examples so that you can get a feel of what I mean
- Stoning isn't mentioned in the Quran, yet it is in the Sunnah, and Allah even says that a slave-girls gets half the punishment of a married free woman, how do you half-stone someone? Allah doesn't make mistakes like these and they only come about when humans fabricate and lie against Allah. The narrations that talk about stoning make the prophet look very bad (in my view)
Umar said
“When this was revealed, I went to the Prophet and I said Let me write it.” Shu’bah said It was as if the Prophet disliked that.
Source Musnad Aḥmad 21086, Grade SahihIn another narration, the Prophet said
"I cannot have it written."
Why would the prophet of Allah dislike something Allah reveals to him?! It makes no sense! So the former prophets liked Allah's Laws but His last prophet didn't and thus didn't include it in the Last Revelation? Even though this is Sahih, I simply can't believe it is.
- Music was never mentioned in Quran, but it is in the Sunnah. Why? It's such a big part of our lives and it was so even back then. Why would Allah not address it properly in the Qur'an and forbid it in clear words? Same with pictures/statues. They are everywhere and they were even in the Kaaba (as I have heard, not sure if it's authentic), why wouldn't Allah properly and clearly prohibit it in His Book? They are everywhere. Why would the all-encompassing Book of guidance leave these very wide-spread things out if they are that bad? And the ayah they say is about music, when you read it carefully, it really feels like it's about narrations in general... i.e. the Sunnah, and it feels as if people fabricated and said "It's about music" just to make the Muslims confused and divert them away from the obvious (of what actually is said)
""Lead to destroy those whom you canst among them, with thy (seductive) voice; make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy infantry; mutually share with them wealth and children; and make promises to them." But Satan promises them nothing but deceit." (Isra 64)
Since when has music done any of this? you just listen and enjoy for a bit and then you leave it and you don't even think about it anymore. But Hadith, you listen clearly at what is said, you believe in them wholeheartedly and it misguides or guides you. I know some music is bad (like rap etc), but love songs, casual songs etc. I don't know if they cause that much harm tbh... music can drive you away from listening to the Qur'an, that I believe, but totally misguide you? Idk.
- There's some stuff in the Sunnah that don't make any sense scientifically at all. The hadith about the sun by Abu Dharr, saying the sun halts, and we have been forced to say that it's from ghayb and we can't actually see it but that it happens. The hadith when the jew asks the prophet how the sex is determined and the prophet says that Jibril told him it's determined based on who's water overcomes the other. Also, how would this Jew know the right answer to these questions, was he a prophet?
Things like these aren't present in the Qur'an and I've never got an uncomfortable feeling while reading the Qur'an but it seems like I often come across things in the Hadith that don't seem right.
And why did prophet Muhammad leave us with the Qur'an only, and Allah said that he has PERFECTED our religion today (i.e. that day when we only had the Qur'an) and then some 200 years later comes some persian scholars and oblige us to believe in a ton of other books and you're a kafir if you doubt one single narration from them. It doesn't make sense to me, please help me understand all of this.

Peace exion.
False Islam of Hadith and lip service to Qoran existed from day one of the prophet s time, Qoran called them Mushrekeen and Munafiqeen. Or enemies of the prophet if you like.
True Islam- 0% Hadith , Qoran Alone, lost to false Islam -1% to 100% hadith- and after the death of the prophet, the truth got buried under piles and piles of more falsehood and fabrications of more hadiths.
Bukhari and co tried to civ from the fabrications separating false ones from Sahih ones, that s all.
The false Islam that won the majority since the prophet is still with the majority now. Nothing has changed for "true Islam" ,it is still with only the minority.
That is what Qoran is telling those who study and ponder its preserved verses. Also Qoran is saying to us true Islam has only GOD s scripture as source, any other hadith whether it is 1%, 40%. 99% or any percentage does not belong with GOD s religion and can only be a false Islam
GOD bless you.

But how does one explain the fact that the Muslims in history have confirmed century after century that Sunni Islam is the true Islam?
Like for example Abu Hanifa even met Tabi'in, and they met the companions, and the Tabi'in confirmed to Abu Hanifa that Sunni Islam (with the various Hadith) is the true Islam. And this has been the case century after century...
One can not say the same about Christianity because we know for a fact that there was a lot of splitting in the first century and the New Testament even refutes a lot of the deviants. Paul came along and fabricated more than half the NT and ruined it. The same can't be said about the Sunnah. We know that the companions related stuff to the Tabi'in and the Tabi'in related to Abu Hanifa and he to the next gen and so on and so forth.

May be I should quote few verses for you as well.
No mention of Hadith books or even Sunnah of the prophet by GOD hereSay, "Whose testimony is the greatest?" Say, "God's. He is the witness between me and you that this Qoran has been inspired to me, to preach it to you and whomever it reaches. Indeed, you bear witness that there are other gods* beside God." Say, "I do not testify as you do; there is only one god, and I disown your idolatry."
Those to whom we have given the scripture recognize this as they recognize their own children. The ones who lose their souls are those who do not believe.
Who is more evil than one who lies about God, or rejects His revelations? The transgressors never succeed.
Never mind men s Hadiths altogether since GOD s book-Qoran- is the best Hadith
God has revealed herein the best Hadith; a book that is consistent, and points out both ways (to Heaven and Hell). The skins of those who reverence their Lord cringe therefrom, then their skins and their hearts soften up for God's message. Such is God's guidance; He bestows it upon whoever wills (to be guided). As for those sent astray by God, nothing can guide themOr what are these verses really saying in Arabic brother?
We need to reflect on GOD s scripture if one submits and follows GOD s messageIf God renders one's heart content with Submission/Islam, he will be following a light from his Lord. Therefore, woe to those whose hearts are hardened against God's message; they have gone far astray.
GOD bless you.

How does one explain this
O you who have attained faith, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in command among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and fairer in interpretation. (459)
If we disagree on something, to refer it back to Allah and the messenger, how can we refer it to the messenger is the Qur'an is the only source of knowledge?
Also, a similar verse
"No, by your Lord, they are not believers until they make you their judge in the disputes that break out between them and then do not resist what you decide and submit themselves completely." (Surat an-Nisa` 65)
Which implies that there's decisions the messenger made apart from the Words of Allah in the Qur'an...

Peace good brother exion and welcome to the forum.
How does one explain this
O you who have attained faith, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in command among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and fairer in interpretation. (459)
The context is a face to face interaction between the prophet and those literally in his presence. So you see you and I cannot refer
to Muhammad because he is no longer with us. We can only refer to Allah (Quran) or cautiously someone else besides the prophet.
Just like we are not to disturb Muhammad in his home, but today we cannot do that because he is not here. Also, a similar verse
"No, by your Lord, they are not believers until they make you their judge in the disputes that break out between them and then do not resist what you decide and submit themselves completely." (Surat an-Nisa` 65)
Which implies that there's decisions the messenger made apart from the Words of Allah in the Qur'an.
Yes the same applies. Allah makes it clear that the believers are to accept the prophets judgement and trust him. The prophet cannot give us orders
because he is not with us anymore. On a personal level I was Sunni for about 20 years following others and a lot of traditionists thinking but Allah says use your critical thinking, reflect, analyze.
May our journey bring us closer to Allah

The messenger did not disobey GOD ,he did not leave us his own revelations with GOD s, he obeyed GOD and delivered only GODs revelation/words. His role is clear here
We do not send the messengers except as deliverers of good news, as well as warners. Those who believe and reform have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
As for those who reject our revelations, they incur the retribution for their wickedness.
The message is GOD s revelations only. Nothing else!!! Look here ,clarified without looking elsewhere for other explanations
And preach with this (Qoran) to those who reverence the summoning before their Lord - they have none beside Him as a Lord and Master, nor an intercessor - that they may attain salvation.
How can we possibly add Hadiths and sunnah to GOD s statement?
However brother, GOD accepts our repentance and is forgiver most Merciful if we correct. When those who believe in our revelations come to you, you shall say, "Salãmun `Alaykum (Peace be upon you). Your Lord has decreed that mercy is His attribute. Thus, anyone among you who commits a transgression out of ignorance, and repents thereafter and reforms, then He is Forgiving, Most Merciful."
We thus explain the revelations, and point out the ways of the wicked.
Say, "I am forbidden from following/serving... what you follow besides God." Say, "I will not follow your opinions. Otherwise, I will go astray, and not be guided."
I am amazed at GOD s prophecy about Muhammed s people , Subhann Allah
Your people have rejected this-Qoran-, even though it is the truth. Say, "I am not a guardian over you."
Every prophecy herein will come to pass, and you will surely find out.
Therefore it is up to each individual to search and make sure that what he/she follows is GOD s scripture . GOD will only hold us accountable for His message/book.
Or what excuse can we give at GOD s meeting?
Those that follow a scripture and preach it to others are responsible and accountable for it at GOD s. Those who follow them and don t check /make sure for themselves will also be responsible for it.GOD s book/message will stand out as a beacon above all books .It should leave no doubt in the heart and intellect of the sincere seeker for GOD s guidance.
Thank you and GOD bless you.

It's a very good question that you should often ask to yourselves.
And you'll find the answer continuously changing...Who Am I before I am a Hanafi?
Who Am I 5 years from now?
Who Am I before I was born?
Who Am I after I died? And why did prophet Muhammad leave us with the Qur'an only, and Allah said that he has PERFECTED our religion today (i.e. that day when we only had the Qur'an) and then some 200 years later comes some persian scholars and oblige us to believe in a ton of other books and you're a kafir if you doubt one single narration from them. The statement/threat of "You're a Kafir / Infidel / Pagan / Goy and you will be punished and tortured!" is a key identifying characteristic of Fear Based Religion.
Understand the reason WHY people invented an Exclusive Fear Based Religion and you shall make sense of it all. -

peace exion,
apply into practice since inheritance cases are not timebound.
it's a kalala case, inconsistent meaning incorrect in all hadith.https//sunnah.com/ibnmajah2720
It was narrated that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said“The wife of Sa’d bin Rabi’ came with the two daughters of Sa’d to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said ‘O Messenger of Allah, these are the two daughters of Sa’d. He was killed with you on the day of Uhud, and their paternal uncle has taken all that their father left behind, and a woman is only married for her wealth.’ The Prophet (ﷺ) remained silent until the Verse of inheritance was revealed to him. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called the brother of Sa’d bin Rabi’ and said ‘Give the two daughters of Sa’d two thirds of his wealth, and give his wife on eighth, and take what is left.’”
412 we know correct share to wife 1/8 (3/24)
why error given to two daughters 2/3 (16/24)?
why error given to the brother 5/24?
change two daughters to two sons?

Maybe this link may help!
https//www.quran-islam.org/articles/part_5/age_of_aisha_(P1472).htmlI quote the conclusion of the article
The correct age of Aisha when she married the prophet was 18 years old and not 9 years old. The narration reported by Bukhari is simply a corrupt one. It violates the law of God, common sense, tradition and culture, and even other hadith! It also contradicts the chronological order of the events during the prophetic mission. It is thus inconceivable and unjustified to elevate the words of Bukhari above the integrity of the beloved messenger!
Islam is not to be monopolised by the early scholars and hadith narrators, nor related to their time only. It is our right and duty to evaluate their findings and criticise and also reject much of their findings which are found to be fabricated delusions! At the end of the day, these works are no more than human efforts and thus should never be granted sanctity or divinity.Just for your information only
You can accept or reject it as you wish
I'm a Quran alone follower and do not take other sources beside Quran as my guidance!
