Law of impracticability will come into play. You yourself will be the judge.

        Peace centi50.
        Similar to what Mazhar said.
You alone can decide. If you are in pain and cannot do the normal things, take the medicine or any required remedy for the ache.
As for food, Qoran leaves it to you also, ill means in pain and no energy. If you need food to get your energy back because you cannot function at all ,then take the food/drink also.

You can judge your situation and decide on what is best to do for your own body.
GOD wants ease for you not hardship.
        GOD bless you.
        Peace.

If it is no eating and drinking then one must consider what is eating and drinking. Usually this is related to a foodstuff, something that provides nutrition and/or satisfies appetite/thirst. Medication doesn't fit that in my opinion.

Further, one could ask the same thing of a body cream/lotion because some of it will get absorbed into the skin thus into the body. Many do not even consider this.

It will also be about intention to some degree, for example one is not actively taking/doing XYZ in order to alleviate the hunger/thirst by trying to find/exploit a "loophole" etc.

          I recommend

It has a bit about self determining also.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

You guys are still doing the traditional fasting?
But traditionalists replaced consciousness with materialism. That’s why, they are focused on the body and see no sign from the fasting they do.

Consciousness is connected to God and the universe. It has the blueprint of what is outside. Body is only like a kid or a vessel you are responsible for. Next time if you get pain just do a simple testing by listening to this https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w0oRSN0AVM&t=537s

              Peace reel.
Hope you are doing fine with your life.
Trump is back. However I am worried about those in charge of the UK.
May the Lord guide all humanity to the right path.

Sister, while on earth, we need to look after both -Body and soul- Fasting does no harm to anyone,on the contrary .it benefits the body more.
However, I agree that we must prioritise the soul and at least do good for ourselves and our fellow humans by following GOD s instructions to be just, fair and peaceful with each other.
              GOD bless you sister.
              Peace.
