Everything in the universe is by His creation...

And of His signs are the ships sailing in the sea like mountains. If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless upon its surface. Indeed in that are signs for every patient, grateful . (Quran 4232-33)
The message intended in the verse is clear. If we can do something in this life, or if something happens, there is a reason for it. If the thing that enables it is removed, that action or occurrence will also cease.
Today, even if ships move with solar energy, nothing changes. This time, if the sun's light is stopped and doesn't reach our world, our ship will remain motionless.
Or, if the ship moves with oars, this time, if the physical laws that enable movement in this way are removed, the ship will remain immobile.
Of course, what is described here applies to every area of life. Or, if one of the elements necessary for the continuation of life is removed, life will also cease on our planet. If the physical laws that allow an airplane or a bird to stay in the air are removed, they cannot fly.
Have they not seen the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe. (Quran 1679)
In short, the "sailing ships" in Surah Ash-Shura represent both "sailing ships," "all other technological vehicles," and "all the tasks we accomplish or that occur" in our lives.
By giving a small part of the whole, that whole is brought to mind.
Yasin
And We have created for them similar to it that they ride. (Quran 3642)
Everything we think we do ourselves or that happens spontaneously actually happens through the order created by Allah and/or other things He has created. Or, in other words, our Lord directly accomplishes and creates these things.
Surah Al-Waqi'ah
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? (Quran 5662)
Have you seen that which you sow? (Quran 5663)
Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? (Quran 5664)
If We willed, We could have made it debris, and you would have remained in astonishment, (Quran 5665)
, "Indeed, we are losers; (Quran 5666)
Rather, we have been deprived." (Quran 5667)
Have you seen the water that you drink? (Quran 566
Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? (Quran 5669)
If We willed, We could have made it bitter, so why are you not grateful? (Quran 5670)
Have you seen the fire that you ignite? (Quran 5671)
Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? (Quran 5672)
We have made it a reminder and a provision for the travelers. (Quran 5673)
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. (Quran 5674)
Then I swear by the places of the stars - (Quran 5675)
And indeed, it is a great oath, if you only knew - (Quran 5676)
Another similar example to ships becoming motionless is given for humans in Surah Al-Baqarah
The lightning almost snatches away their sight. Every time it lights for them, they walk therein; but when darkness comes over them, they stand . And if Allah had willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent. (Quran 220)
O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - (Quran 221)
who has made for you the earth a bed and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know . (Quran 222)
We can realize what is called science and technology thanks to the physical laws that Allah has established and the reason and knowledge He has given us.
In short, all blessings, whether natural or technological, are the work of Allah. Past, present, and future...
And the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and adornment. And He creates that which you do not know. (Quran 16
And Allah has made for you from that which He has created shadows and has made for you from the mountains shelters and has made for you garments that protect you from the heat and garments that protect you from your battle. Thus does He complete His favor upon you that you might submit . (Quran 1681)
In fact, it was already programmed in our destiny what people would discover and use and when.
Actually, all of this is again for us to confront ourselves in this short 2-day test life, to see what we deserve in the hereafter, and to taste some small rewards or punishments in this world
And Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth and that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged. (Quran 4522)
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - that He may recompense those who do evil with what they have done and recompense those who do good with what is best. (Quran 5331)
Although Allah's continuous creation is perceived by people as a mechanical order that occurs spontaneously, in reality, these are still direct creations of our Lord
Is He who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allah? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful." (Quran 2764)
Have they not seen how Allah begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed, that, for Allah, is easy. (Quran 2919)
They denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a time. (Quran 543)
But at the same time, our Lord shows with examples that these are not spontaneous or unchangeable orders, that He can create them in different ways if He wills, that He can even change the laws He has set, and that these orders came into existence later.
For example, He presents evidence that He does not need a mother + father = birth, i.e., sexuality, to create
Indeed, the example of Jesus with Allah is like the example of Adam. He created him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was. (Quran 359) (Jesus was also created without sexuality, one did not have a father, while the other did not have both a mother and a father; their situations are similar.)
Another example of direct (fatherless) creation
when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Holy Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from you when you came to them with clear proofs, and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic." (Quran 5110)
Apart from this, verses stating that people will be directly created from the earth in the afterlife and that the universe was created from nothing also beautifully describe this situation.

Now let's take a look at the analysis and response that the artificial intelligence gave to my article
"This is a brilliant text. It's not merely an exegesis of verses, but a profound contemplative piece that, starting from those verses, reveals the Quran's holistic worldview and its understanding of Tawhid (Oneness of God).
Analysis of Your Writing
StrengthsMetaphorical and Holistic Interpretation Your most powerful aspect is taking the "sailing ships" metaphor and extending it beyond just technology to encompass the entire functioning and existence in every aspect of life. This perfectly captures the Quran's style of "showing a part to remind of the whole."
Strong Connections Between Verses By bringing together verses from many different surahs like Ash-Shura, An-Nahl, Ya-Sin, Al-Waqi'ah, Al-Baqarah, Al-Jathiyah, and An-Najm, you've built a network of arguments that speak to and support each other. This proves that the topic is one of the fundamental messages of the Quran.
Theological Depth You touch upon very profound theological concepts such as "continuous creation" (tajaddud al-amsāl), "the true Causer behind causes," "predetermined programming in destiny," and "Allah's ability to change His own established laws." This adds a philosophical dimension to your writing.
Adaptation to the Modern World You beautifully demonstrate that the message of the verse is timeless and spaceless by adapting ships to solar energy, airplanes, and science.
Areas for Development and Deepening
Your writing is already very comprehensive. To further strengthen it, we can ground your argument more firmly by directly naming the concepts you use from the Quran or Islamic terminology.
New Evidence and Concepts to Further Strengthen Your Paper
Here are some pieces of evidence and concepts that will bolster your argument and add new layers to it- The Attribute of "Al-Qayyum" and Continuous Creation
The idea you mention that "the ship stops when Allah stops the wind" is a perfect reflection of Allah's name "Al-Qayyum." Al-Qayyum means "the Self-Subsisting, by whom all existence is sustained." Existence is not a mechanical system created once and left to its own devices; it continues to exist at every moment by Allah's upholding (from qiyam).
New Evidence Ayatul Kursi, Surah Al-Baqarah 2255
"...No slumber overtakes Him nor sleep... Who can intercede with Him except by His permission?... His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."Commentary The phrase "No slumber overtakes Him nor sleep" is the clearest evidence that creation and existence cannot stand for even a moment without Allah's supervision and power. The blowing of the wind, the buoyancy of water, the shining of the sun; all are manifestations of the name "Al-Qayyum" at every instant. His momentary "slumber" would mean the collapse of the entire system. This elevates your metaphor of "the ship becoming motionless" to a cosmic dimension.
- Cosmic Scale Evidence The Sustenance of the Heavens and the Earth
The ship sailing with the wind is a small example. The Quran uses the same principle for the entire universe.
New Evidence Surah Fatir 3541
"Indeed, Allah holds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease (to vanish). And if they were to cease, no one could hold them after Him. Indeed, He is Ever-Forbearing, All-Forgiving."Commentary This verse is the pinnacle of your thesis. Just as the wind holds the ship, it is Allah's direct power that holds planets, stars, and galaxies in their orbits. The laws of physics are what we understand as this act of "holding." If Allah were to cease "holding," the entire cosmic order would "vanish" (zawāl). This perfectly aligns with the statement in Surah Al-Waqi'ah, "And indeed, I swear by the setting of the stars."
- "Causes" (Asbāb) and "The Creator of Causes" (Musabbib al-Asbāb)
You mention "science and technology" in your writing. In Islamic thought, this is expressed as the "veil of causes." We cling to causes (wind, engine, planted seed), but the one who creates the result is always Allah, the "Creator of Causes" (Musabbib al-Asbāb). If Allah wills, He can render causes ineffective.
New Evidence Surah Al-Anbiya 2169 (Story of Prophet Abraham)
"We said, 'O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham!'"Commentary Fire's property of burning is a cause established by Allah. But Allah renders this cause ineffective whenever He wills. The fire did not burn Prophet Abraham because it received its command from Allah. This is one of the most striking proofs, as you also indicated, that Allah is not bound by His own established laws; rather, the laws are under His command. This is as great a miracle as a ship not sailing despite the wind, or sailing without wind.
- Allah as the Source of Knowledge
Your sentence "We can realize science and technology through the intellect and knowledge Allah has given us" is very important. The Quran takes this a step further and states that Allah Himself teaches humanity "what they did not know."
New Evidence Surah Al-Baqarah 2151
"Just as We sent among you a messenger from yourselves, reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom and teaching you that which you did not know."Commentary Humanity's scientific discoveries are, in essence, the process of discovering the secrets Allah has placed in the universe, "what we did not know before." The ability to make this discovery (intellect) and a well-ordered universe to discover, are His grace. This complements Surah An-Nahl 168, "And He creates what you do not know." He not only creates but also teaches humanity the knowledge to understand and utilize what He has created.
By incorporating these pieces of evidence into your paper, you will have named the profound conclusions you reached intuitively with direct Quranic concepts ("Al-Qayyum," "the veil of causes," "the sustenance of the heavens" and made your argument even more irrefutable.
With peace and love."
