    Salam 357.
    Nice to hear from you.
    Qoran addresses mankind in general.
Since most of the prophets happen to live around the middle east , it addressed those there but the message is also meant worldwide.

Qoran has set some rules , but there are always exceptions and special cases . GOD knew humans will inhabit many parts of the world with different times and places.

So ,one can do their best of what they can, just like when people are ill or have emergencies or are busy with urgent tasks or... GOD allows for many exceptions and situations like wars, droughts, complication of things in life wherever one may be in the world.
Intentions and trying our best are the norm and exemptions are allowed depending on the situation of the person- like when traveling , means,etc...
For example if one lives in the north pole, one still eats at different times and works certain hours and sleeps certain hours so they can also remember GOD at certain times and fast at certain times - like breakfast to evening meal etc...
There is no compulsion or difficulty in GOD s deen.
    GOD bless you.
    Peace.

In polar regions with extreme day/night cycles, follow the nearest normal schedule (like Mecca time) for prayer and Ramadan. Islam adapts; it’s about principles, not literal sunlight.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Sometimes we fall into thinking of the Quran only through a ritual lens as if its message begins and ends with timings of prayer or fasting. But to ask whether its universal or just for the Middle East; on that basis misses the whole point.

The Quran presents itself as a confirmation of what came before and its core is always tawheed i.e the oneness of God and our full accountability for how we live with those around us.

Every so-called ritual is only a reminder, a training not an end in itself. Fasting points to empathy and discipline prayer points to mindfulness and humility while charity points to care for others. Their value is in shaping how we treat mankind while keeping God in remembrance.

Chapter Al-Kahf gives us a vivid example (1832–44) one man boasted about his gardens, wealth, and children, thinking they would never perish, while the other reminded him to fear God and remain humble. The real message was not about the garden itself but about living rightly before God, with humility and gratitude. That is what matters the essence, not the form.

So whether under the desert sun OR in the polar night, or even on another planet the guidance remains universal. The mechanics adapt but the purpose never changes to live mindful of God and responsible for humanity.

In the end Brother 357 (wish we known your name) do not limit the Quran to geography be known that its message is universal. If you live in a polar region simply take what is applicable to your life and act on it sincerely. Should you want to adapt those rituals then even Someone in the north pole still has eating/sleeping/work cycles, so they can align fasting and prayer to those cycles (like between breakfast and evening meal).

            Salaams All,

Is the quran only for the middle east? cant apply in regions of the polar cirle - parts of of Norway , Russia and other such regions - Where you can have up to six months Night or Day, Ramadan and Salah and other things are all linked to the sun, or can the word have a different meaning?

            Thanks.

It is so hard to fathom why people are so bothered by their rituals and state such sumptuous answers.

Just because the Al Quran is there doesn’t mean someone would seek its knowledge. My straightforward and explicit answer to anyone who asks, ‘Is the Al Quran for the entire world population?’ is NO. The Al Quran is not for everyone. Then, for whom is it revealed? To Arabs? No. Then? To Arabs and those whose languages are very similar to Arabic, to reveal the TRUTH and expose the FALSEHOOD they practice as mercy from the Divine. But to whom will it guide? Yes, it guides those who seek guidance from the Divine, and more precisely, ‘It guides those who conscientize’ 22 (so literally, the Al Quran is for those who conscientize to seek wisdom and truth not for Middle East). However, you can only conscientize if you understand or try to understand the language of the book first, by any means possible. So, it is not meant for everyone, while the world is full of countless languages and dialects created by the Divine. Is the Divine the Divine of all people? Yes. Is the Divine's Truth an important matter? Yes. Who seeks the Divine truth except the truth seeker? To seek the Divine truth, is the Al Quran or Al Torah etc., mandatory? No. These books enhance and convince the Divine truth and the Divine path to truth seekers but are not mandatory for those who seek truth independently, as the Divine supports them along the way. After all, life is about living ethically while knowing through the Divine; the rest is wisdom. This can be achieved individually through observation and reasoning if one is a truth seeker. However, the Divine has facilitated this approach for certain groups by revealing a guidebook that includes guidance and wisdom, although it unfortunately lacks rituals. Yet, you cannot rely solely on the book itself; you must perceive it. To perceive it, you must go beyond the book. I mean knowledge, but to realize the wisdom within the book, one needs to observe and reason with nature. Guidance shows the correct or consistent path that aligns with the Divine's preferences. True ethics always align with the inherent nature of humanity. If the Divine can guide all His creatures without written or oral communication, then the Divine can guide humanity without any written books as well. Books serve a purpose as mercy and verification of truth—nothing more. The Divine books are not the verified truth on its own for humanity, but need to apply their senses to verify them.

If someone accepted the Divine in Life and wanted to live ethically with honesty, then the Divine is their guide.. The Divine is not so horrendous as to state to the world, ‘Read the Arabic book by learning Arabic, otherwise I will throw you in hell’.. Our life is our school and the teacher is the Divine through what He has created, if you don’t look at the nature, you don’t learn anything, thus you deny your teacher in life.. Be you a learner through the Divine revelation or self-learner, in the first place, you need to be a truth seeker..

              Salaam friends,
As we are all searching for answers, my quition realy meant - is the quran literally ataching the rituals - or what ever they may be, to the dawn,Dusk or may be the Sun?
Or does the quran allow us to simply ignore this atachment or connection to the sun?

              Thanks.

                Peace 357

Qoran is asking us to use our faculties and reasoning to adapt to situations and do our best to keep His commands and instructions. .

Say you are an astronaut and you go in space for few weeks what do you do?
Qoran does not give you the details of how you adapt/follow GOD s deen in different parts of the universe, because GOD gave the humans the faculties and the common sense to work things out when changes to their life occur.
Qoran gives the general rules under normal circumstances ,like where the big majority of the humans live. it also gives you exceptions and exemptions in certain conditions /situations.
                GOD bless you.
                Peace.

                  Good Logic,

Can you show me what you are saying from the quran itself? that you are given a free hand to use it in different ways in different places.

                    Hello 357.

                    How does one follow Qoran?
                    For example, Qoran says this

When they are told, "Follow what God has revealed herein," they say, "We follow only what we found our parents doing." What if their parents did not understand, and were not guided?

So, This clearly says "Follow what GOD has revealed. Therefore one needs to check Qoran and seek guidance from GOD.

I say, according to me- means the reader has to double check and confirm for themselves from Qoran-.

Brother 357, you ask if Qorab is only for middle east and I said Qoran is for all humans.

For example if one lived in the north pole and there is a 24 hour day/sun, how can they perform Sawm?

O you who believe, fasting is decreed for you, as it was decreed for those before you, that you may attain salvation.

Specific days (are designated for fasting); if one is ill or traveling, an equal number of other days may be substituted. Those who can fast, but with great difficulty, may substitute feeding one poor person for each day of breaking the fast. If one volunteers (more righteous works), it is better. But fasting is the best for you, if you only knew.

Ramadan is the month during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Those of you who witness this month shall fast therein. Those who are ill or traveling may substitute the same number of other days. God wishes for you convenience, not hardship, that you may fulfill your obligations, and to glorify God for guiding you, and to express your appreciation.

Is there room for freedom here? Those who do have difficulty in fasting /issue- for example a 24 hour sun-They can feed /provide for someone poor /charitable act or fast from breakfast to just before their last meal- i.e the same amount of hours they do in the middle east.

When My servants ask you about Me, I am always near. I answer their prayers when they pray to Me. The people shall respond to Me and believe in Me, in order to be guided.

As for guidance, the above verse is clear. Just ask GOD for guidance and see if that works.
                    Thank you brother.
                    Peace.

It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a derived light and determined for it phases that you may know the number of years and account of time (105).

We made the night and day two signs… so that you may seek bounty from your Lord and know the number of years and the calculation (1712).

These verses show the sun and moon are markers for time, not objects of ritual and the command is simply to measure time and remember God; so if people in the polar region cannot use them in the normal way, it does not mean they are trapped by the physical sun only that they must still keep a reckoning of time for God’s remembrance.

Of course I agree quran is for all places, but when the quran says "fast from dawn to sunset" its a wrong command as it cannot be done every where, can it? - to me it can only mean , the translation isn't right.

O you who believe, fasting is decreed for you, as it was decreed for those before you, that you may attain salvation.

The Quran states that those who believe and do righteous deeds will attain salvation.

what does staying humgry have to do with beliveing or doing what is right? i don't think its about food, although its about abstaining - for which you need to look at the context of where that is mentioned to know abstaining from what.

Specific days (are designated for fasting); if one is ill or traveling, an equal number of other days may be substituted. was the quran realy revealed in one month? - check what ramadan means ? is it realy a month.

Is there room for freedom here? Those who do have difficulty in fasting /issue- for example a 24 hour sun-They can feed /provide for someone poor /charitable act or fast from breakfast to just before their last meal- i.e the same amount of hours they do in the middle east.

where does it say follow the middle east? why not simply say fast for so many hours - would apply every where if its anything thing to do with food.

of course we can ask any time , day or night, morning or evening - and not just five times a day , like the zoroastrians.

                        Peace my brother

                        Thanks and peace.

Well Shamas is not the sun as Qamar isn't the moon.
but it doesn't realy matter - we will all be dead soon ..Ha Ha.

We made the night and day two signs… so that you may seek bounty from your Lord and know the number of years and the calculation (1712).

Like A carrot and stick are two signs for a horse to behave , a night and day are no such signs.
So the arabic words for the night and day actualy mean something else....but what?

These verses show the sun and moon are markers for time, not objects of ritual and the command is simply to measure time and remember God; so if people in the polar region cannot use them in the normal way, it does not mean they are trapped by the physical sun only that they must still keep a reckoning of time for God’s remembrance.

I agree , but there are better ways to measure time - so its not about time my brother.

                          Peace.

                            Peace 357.

So My understanding of Qpran and yours differ, but that is ok.
However I agree with you on the straight path . Doing what is right is a the most important criteria to be saved., doing other things that are beneficial to the soul gain you more healthy body and soul.

Qoran says fast certain days and not hours because days have different hours.

Brother, you seem to know many things about Qoran. Keep studying it and with GOD s help you will get your answers.
I am only trying to give you my take on things.Check and go with your own understanding.

My main advice to you is to use your own faculties/reasoning and common sense.
May the Lord guide us both.
                            GOD bless you.
                            Peace.

Yes Quranic words can carry depth, but the Book itself also uses shams, qamar, layl, nahar in clear and observable terms By the sun and its brightness, and the moon when it follows it (911–2), And a sign for them is the nigh (...) the sun runs to a fixed course, and the moon We have determined phases (3637–40).

The straightforward meaning remains valid these are signs to order life and remember God. The essence is not about being trapped by the physical sun or clock but about living in remembrance with discipline and humility.

Of course The deen of Islam is not bound to Middle Eastern geography; natural cycles are reminders of God and tools to structure life. Where those cycles do not function in the same way polar regions, or even space travel the purpose is still the same remembrance, discipline, humility.

And brother I get the feeling you already have a view on this, just dropping hints and seeing who picks them up. But rather than us going in circles, why not put your take on the table directly? I am sure you have thought it through.

                              Peace.
