what does the word worship mean?

here are a few meaning from the Quranic DictionaryAbada = To serve/worship/adore/obey/ACCEPT THE IMPRESSION OF A THING/submit devote/obeisance/Godly/THE IMPRESS OF DEVINE ATTRIBUTES AND IMBIBING AND REFLECTING THEM ON ONE'S PERSON.
But i am sure we believe in accordance with our own experiances.

He?s a humble suggestion. A dictionary is fine if you are simply trying to learn to speak a language but understanding how God uses a word is different. A good example is ?worship?. If you look in an English dictionary and compare God?s usage you?ll see that God does not enjoin worship but service. Imagine a master whose servants don?t serve they just worship. Doesn?t do the master any good does it? Get your meanings from the ?light? of the reading.

I totally agree with you, I am trying to find out the true meaning according to the quran, doesn't it say in quran that there is a detailed explanation of everything? if you go look in arabic dictionaries you might get alot of different meanings

The word "Worship God " per my understanding using the Quran alone
means - to Live per the will of your Lord.that is the word 'Worship" would mean to live per the will of ..... "
Therefore, it is possible for someone to worship satan , if he live per the will of Satan. Or to worship your Boss if you live per his will ,although negating the will of the Lord.
Our Ibad - those who works per our will... whether servants , workers employees, all those who work per the will of the Manager and Bosses are termed as Ibad!! (2432)
(18104) will tell you that those who seeks other's will, are the loosers thinking they are on the straight path ' believing that the word worship- would only mean - to pray , fast and etc.. But the meaning is much stronger and larger than you expect.I hope this is clear.
