    Peace Peter,

I echo everyone's sentiments and would only add

Why did you do it? No need to answer, except to yourself. You need to figure out the cause of the problem and straighten the roots in order to improve yourself. This is the method of refining one's soul constant and never-ending improvement.

    p.s. you're human.

    Peace,
    Tay

I myself had also commited adultery in the past. I have shown remorse and regret, but the guy I have cheated on didn't want to forgive me. I believe that God is the one who does all the forgiving. So just ask God for forgiveness, He's merciful!

Adultery is the height of disloyalty and betrayal. Indeed while God forgives all sins, no one could ever expect a human to forgive such a terrible act of betrayal.

Which is not to say that there aren't people who could forgive such an offense.

However, once you've been betrayed it is impossible to ever fully trust that person again.

            Peace,
May i add that it aint logical nor just that GOD should forgive an offense committed against humanity since GOD is most just. If you betrayed someone that one will have a right over you on the day of judgement in that regard for equality to be established. GOD may forgive you from His side but what if that person doesnt forgive you? Then you'll be in trouble. Thats why we must be very careful not to violate any human's rights and if you did ask forgiveness from that person in this life if you can. GOD Bless!

JK- I hope your not questioning GOD's justice. Does the term "inference" mean nothing to you as a scientist. So much of science is inference and many things are not found directly in the Quran but are ought to be inferred from them using the brain GOD has given us. GOD tells us in the Quran that Hes the most just judging down to the atom's weight. Do you find it just when somebody kills my daughter for example and then dies somewhere else without him getting punished in this world and me noticing it? I believe not. Thats why loic dictates that GOD will do so on the day of judgement. GOD Bless!

                  Peace Johnny K,

I hope your not questioning GOD's justice.

Whaoh! Way to jump the gun there Johnny. All I asked for was a reference in case I missed it. All you have to do is say "it's my opinion". Holy moly. Put the weapon down and take a deep breath wink

Does the term "inference" mean nothing to you as a scientist.

I'm not a scientist, but I do know what inference means.

So much of science is inference and many things are not found directly in the Quran but are ought to be inferred from them using the brain GOD has given us.

The brain is not a trustworthy nor valid tool in deciding matters of ultimate destiny. It's a tool for this world only, and still not perfect.

GOD tells us in the Quran that Hes the most just judging down to the atom's weight

                  Exactamundo!

Do you find it just when somebody kills my daughter for example and then dies somewhere else without him getting punished in this world and me noticing it?

I'm not sure what you're asking me. Punishment "in this world" has nothing to do with judgement on the day of reckoning. I gather sometimes they would coalesce, and sometimes they wouldn't. Ultimately, that's the Creator's territory, not mine or yours.

Thats why loic dictates that GOD will do so on the day of judgement.

I agree. God will do so. Not you, or anyone else.

                  Peace,
                  Tay

JK- Thats the point, GOD will punish him until I forgive him. Then GOD may or may not forgive him. What im saying that GOD will not forgive him wothout me forgiving him in case that person violated my right. Do you get the point now? GOD Bless!

I get the point, though I disagree with your opinion. I also disagree that you should tell people this opinion without stating that it is unsubstantiated and extra-quranic, whether referred or inferred.

                        Peace,

Khizar, this opinion of yours is straight out of the 'sunni handbook' and is what is actually quite offensive to the God's system. It is you who are taking away from the God's absolute knowledge of what is just and His power of forgiveness. No man can hold another to ransom over a sin that person has committed against them if they repent honestly and sincerely. You are in effect giving the power of justice on judgement day to another human with this opinion. This is shirk.

                        1. It is He who accepts repentance from His creatures and forgives their trespasses, for He knows what you do.

You do not need to grovel to another human or be at their whim for forgiveness. It is correct to apologise to them if you have wronged them, but whether they accept it or not is unimportant to you if you are sincere and honest in your repentance. The other person cannot know whether you are sincere and reform, but the God does.

So the power of forgiveness is absolutely with the God.

This 'right of humans over you' rubbish that you put forth is a way of petty misguided people attempting to control others through real or imagined guilt they place on the person.

Stop spreading this sort of rubbish if you can't back it up.

                        Regards.

JK- Lets say GOD forbid a person kills my mother and gets away with it without being legally punished in his life. Later on in his life he sincerely repents to GOD for what he has done. Now what good would that do to me? Did you think of that? How will that benefit me? Do you think GOD deosnt care for me anymore once that other murderer has repented? No the Quran does state that the offence from GOD's side maybe forgiven but that does not mean that i dont have the right to take revenge. GOD clearly says in the Quran that "equivalence has been prescribed for us"
And we decreed for them in it that the life for the life, the eye for the eye, the nose for the nose, the ear for the ear, the tooth for the tooth, and an equivalent injury for any injury. If one forfeits what is due to him as a charity, it will atone for his sins. Those who do not rule in accordance with GOD's revelations are the unjust.
So i cannot believe that GOD will be injust towards a victim just because the offender asked forgiveness from GOD and never bothered to ask forgiveness from the victim. The case is different if the intention of the offender was to ask the viictim for forgiveness but that either he himself or the victim died before he could. GOD Bless!

                            Peace,

Khizar 545 does not relate to forgiveness for the sins of someone who commits wrong. The God is the one who forgives regardless.

Your verse relates to the punishment for a crime and not the forgiveness or repentance for sins committed which 4125 deals with and which I quoted previously.

You were initially saying you would have a right against that person in the afterlife and this remains wrong. In 545 you see that your right for revenge is limited to this world. If the offender is caught then you can shoose to have the person punished or forgo the punishment in which case the God rewards you!

If the offender is not caught, and that is under the God's control also then you have nothing. The God will take account of that crime regardless and you don't have to worry about it.

Now returning to the topic of this post rather than twisting it to your own ends; in the case of a sin like adultery, the wife in this case may have a grievance but has no right over the man and no right for 'revenge' either. If the man repents sincerely then it is the God who forgives and he does not require forgiveness from the wife who may bear a grudge until the day she dies. That's to her detriment and says more about her inability to deal with it and move on than anything else. The woman does not have a right to send the person to hell because of a grudge, especially if the man has sincerely repented and reformed.
