Hello peaceful,
Is it permissible to call fellow believers, ''KAFIRS'' when they disagree with one's opinion???????
I guess it's not a nice thing to say. I think the word though, carries some connotations with it which, because of prior conditiong, make it sound and feel worse then what it actually is. I'm not trying to defend it's use, I'm really just thinking aloud. If, for example, one were called "rejector", would that be something that should be allowed or not? I'm asking for your opinion... I guess I am indecisive. ?Peace

Peace,
There are words that people may or may not have problems with
Rejector
Kafir
Doubter
DisbelieverI think maybe the tone of the discussion will be a deciding factor in if what is being said is meant as an insult or not. I'm not necessarily insulted by these words to me. Some people may apply these words to me. That's their opinion.

And thanks for thinking aloud as well.
Those verses from Quran labelling people 'kafirs' can be misused by anyone and is being misused if one doesnt agree with their interpretation and understanding of Quran. And understanding of the Quran differs with everyone..
This has become some regular pattern these days.
So, would like a clarification.
Coz if others can, and if its authenticated, many more will use the very same verses of Quran to trade insults. And that would be sad, in my opinion.Peace!

Salaam,
Exactly who are we to judge another person?

To call someone a 'Kaffir' without proof or simply out of disagreement is silly and childish (and will be deemed as a personal attack on this forum).
However, there are cases where a person (provided there is proof) may be branded as a 'Kaffir' according to God's words and it will not be regarded as a personal attack or insult (e.g. those who declare that God is a trinity 576, those who declare Jesus is God 575, those who do not rule by the laws of the Scripture 547, etc.).

Peace,
Now would that apply to the people of the Quran?
Every people will be judged by the true revelations that were revealed to them. What applies to us is that we judge according to God's revelation to us...We are not accountable for what the others have done
"That was a nation that has passed away; to them is what they have earned, and to you is what you have earned; and you will not be asked regarding what they did. (The Message 2134)

SaLaM Layth
Sorry brother but im having trouble understanding your answer. Looking at the above verse, i understand that people of the injeel should judge by injeel. The people of the Quran judge by the Quran. Not the otherway round. Do you agree or disagree?

Peace Jaxal,
Every people will be judged by what was sent to them...Hence the Jews (who remained Jews) will be held accountable by the laws of the original Torah, and the Nazarenes (who remined Nazarenes) will be held accountable by the laws of the original Injeel.
As for non-Jews and non-Nazarenes (i.e. us) we will be judged by the final Scripture and its laws.

Peace,
Ok so if a punishment in the Torah is difference than the punished in the Quran, Then the jews should follow THEIR punishment rather than ours. Correct?
The Jews who have not converted are required to follow the laws in the original Torah (not the blasphemy being sold at bookstores). These laws have been repeated in our Scripture based on God's knowledge that the Jews will mess it up...These laws are more of a 'punishment' for their actions than a regulation for society as done with the final Scripture.
