I have raised this very issue under the Topic "Is Scripture Absolute Truth or A TRUTH". You may find that useful.

It is my view that scripture is a A TRUTH and not the absolute truth. I came to this view by studying the revelation verses in the Scriptures, Hebrew Prophets, Metaphysical Poets and various forms of mystical and meditative expericences of individuals throughout the world.

My view as I have said previously in different threads, the encounter between man and divine never have been a logical encounter because God is beyond language and reason. Even Prophet Muhammad did not reach out to the heavens for the revelations but rather he descended to the very core of his soul in a "meditative trance" to meet his maker. And because God is beyond language and reason then any information that we obtain from this encounter will always be a "rationalised" version of this encounter. That is why you get the burning bush, angels etc. because language and reason is not equipped to describe the ineffable reality of God...

    Yes!

      Salaam Waleed,

      why did Lote-tree leave, again?

Well, I'm playing chess with him at the moment. ;D

As he told me, he's off to find something else that is interesting. The first reason he was in this forum is to learn Code 19, as he told me. And, as I understand it, he said that he had received enough information regarding this issue. Oh, he's also doing some projects.

I did talked to him about going back here, even using another name. Perhaps he'll return. ;D

            Peace all,

If you feel like answering, thanks, and if not, thanks anyway, of course.

Quran, as all of us know, is a reminder. It reminds you things which, most probably, you already know but in our preoccupation with life, we ignore. Like for example

we inhabit a living planet with all the natural calamities
our life is short on this planet
the benevolence of nature has made life possible
we must express gratitude by doing good to others

As I grew up and started realizing these facts, Quran reminded me all these at every stage of life, again and again. Thus started a bond between me and Quran. And I started respecting and trusting its advice or in other words the advice of God. I found that its vision is universal and one which transcends humanity. It helped me improve. Be more generous, patient and equitable.

In short, thats how I reached certitude about Quran. Let me refer to one of my short articles about how I perceived success according to Quran. Who are successful people?

              Peace All

The 2 threads "What is Quraan according to Quraan? and "How did you reach your certitude about the Quraan? arediscussing almost similar issues (At least currently).

I thought the following verses will be important for this discussion Mainly because there were questions such as "Is it directly Gods words" and "Did you see Gods signature in it".

Although there is no signature there are witnesses just like the Quraan advises man
to have 2 witnesses for important documents and transactions.

4 163 We have sent thee inspiration as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers
after him; We sent inspiration to Abraham Ismail Isaac Jacob and the Tribes to Jesus Job Jonah Aaron and Solomon and to David We gave the Psalms.

4 164 Of some Apostles We have already told thee the story; of
others We have not; and to Moses Allah spoke direct.

4 165 Apostles who gave good news as well as warning that mankind
after (the coming) of the Apostles should have no plea against Allah for Allah is Exalted in Power Wise

4 166 But Allah beareth witness that what He hath sent unto
thee He hath sent from His (Own) Knowledge and the angels bear witness but enough is Allah for a Witness.

              Also

It is certain some people will not believe under whatever circumstances. Some of them want to see God or God has to speak to them directly or they want to know whether God spoke to the messenger directly or an angel to come as messenger instead of a man or a book to descend from the sky. Rest assured, none of this is going to happen. There are many verses which explain this fact clearly for a person who cares to read the Quraan thoroughly (not just a few verses) and many times. We must read and then reflect.

6 35 If their spurning is hard on thy mind yet if thou wert able to seek a
tunnel in the ground or a ladder to the skies and bring them a Sign (what good?).
If it were Allah's will He could gather them together unto true guidance so be not thou amongst those who are swayed by ignorance (and impatience)!

17 93 "Or thou have a house adorned with gold or thou mount a
ladder right into the skies. No we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say "Glory to my Lord! am I aught but a man an apostle?"

1794 What kept men back from Belief when Guidance came to them
was nothing but this they said "Has Allah sent a man like us) to be(His)Apostle?"
