    Peace.

Just another general chit chat thread. For those of us here that are left handers, do you feel more free to choose which hand to use to eat when your eating direcly using your fingers, e.g. a curry? And how do you, well, ehem, do what the sectarians would call "istinjaa". Again, only reply if your not embarrased. No force. its just the some left handed people find it difficult to adjust after realising the right hand doesn't really have many powers... and that it can be used for cleanliness of... roll

      Peace Natu,

I've noticed that with left-handed people, the "istinjaa" is done by their right hand. If I'm not mistaken, almost all left-handed people do exactly the "opposite" of what right-handed people do. Mind you, many left-handed people are also right-handed at the same time in some ways and vice versa to a lesser extent.

By the way, I wouldn't title the left-handers as a "cult".

        Peace,

As a left hander, I feel free to use whatever hand I please. Matter of fact, just as Danish said, I use my right hand for many things as well. For example, I throw with my right hand. I used to eat exclusively with my left hand when I was a kid, until my dad (another left-hander) started making me eat with my right hand. So now I hold my fork in my right hand. My dad does the opposite.

        BTW..we lefty's aren't a cult...don't be scared!

          Peace,

I am a mixture of both, but have more strength in my left.

          I throw with left
          kick with left
          punch harder with left
          drink with left
          eat with right
          write with right

right does not mean its right wink

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

I am definitely left handed, but I do a lot of things with my right.

When using a fork, I eat with my left. When I have to eat with my hands and I am among people who will take a offense with me eating with my left hand (mainly my peoples from islamic societies) i eat with my right.

I throw with my left and right
              write with my left
              kick with left and right
punch with left ( i can't with my right)
              drink with left or right
              bathroom etiquette right

While I am right handed I find that when riding a bicycle and I need to use one hand to steer then I can only really do it with my left hand!

Also as part of my work I have to be somewhat ambidextrous.

When eating with just a fork, I prefer the right hand.

When eating with knife and fork I use the fork in my left hand and eat from it in my left hand. But I think this is because I push food onto the fork with the knife making the right hand integral to the process.

I'll have to try and see if I can do more things with my left hand.

As far as tolieting goes - assuming everyone washed their hands after with soap - then it matters little what hand is used. I mean really when one goes to the toilet one touches the toilet seat; cubicle door which are all potent sources of germs with both hands or the dominant hand.

In public toilets I'm more paranoid and will avoid using my washed hands to open the doors to exit the toilet. I'll use a piece of hand towelling to open the door and throw it out when I am outside. A little obsessive yes.
