      Peace,

Does islam condone killing a human being? Yes or No?

Is the sort of question, it does not consider what this "human being" did?
Was he a serial killer? Or an innocent person who was killed by an oppressive nation for his thoughts.

Notice, what hides behind "human being"= it could be serial killer, or a decent person who had different thoughts.

Behind, "islam" there is a direct linking to an oppressive state run by dictators whose religion was muslim in label alone.

These are the methods of Trolls, it has to be said.

          Peace,
Does islam condone killing a human being? Yes or No?

These are what I call "lawyer style" questions... framing the question so that the unaware can get framed! Because once it is answered "Yes", the answerer is stopped right there and the rest of it is ignored and proceeds as "Your Honor, this is the true color of ..." )

            Peace Ash Shuura, everyone,

I see this differently. If a person poses a question, it doesn't mean others have to answer it, and of course not in the way the person who is asking wants it to be answered.

We should learn this simple "rule" from chilhood, because many times it seems that when you are asked something, you HAVE TO answer necessarily, but not, not at all.

In other words, everyone is free to ask whatever thing. The reply is free as well, and this won't break the discussion, in my opinion it will enrich it.

              Peace Elena,

I agree with you in the situation you mention.

However, here the question proceeds with a negative inducement.

If you look at Question/Comments on Qur'an Important Questions thread one person has chosen not to answer and this is the slander that proceeded

you are the only hold out. Are you now ready to simply answer "no" to the above question? People look to you, and rightly so, for information. By your not answering no the above question, can only reflect badly on your credibility, hence, setting the condition for people to look suspiciously at things you say.

Hence, this question in the hands of a troll sets havoc in a community. You don't answer and the havoc continues, or you take him on.

Unfortunately, with someone being irrational and trying to respond in a rational manner does not help. I think the rules governing the community need to be looked at.

I must day I am very very disappointed by the reaction of the moderators, I understand they're having a tough job but they're latting the peace go down the pan.

              Regards

                Peace Ash Shuura,

On the one hand, I understand your point and agree to a certain extent. On the other hand, what solution would you propose? There is a fine line between boundary and censorship, and in this case, for a rule to be enforced where we could not ask "yes or no" questions would just be debilitating.

I think the proper way to deal with this scenario is on a case by case basis. If someone is being overly aggressive in his/her line of questioning, a simple "no one has the right to demand an answer" would do.

Here are a few suggested replies

"Your question is loaded, and hence, not quite as black and white as you suggest."

"Your question is built on a false premise."

"Your question is subjective, as are the terms of you've included."

                "Your question is deceptive."

"I'm not here to win arguments, I'm here to discuss and learn."

                and lastly...

"Only a Sith thinks in absolutes" sun

                Peace,
                Tay

                  Peace Tay,

                  Thank you for your suggestions.

I see freedom of speech as a tool to promote discussion. I don't think one is allowed to say what they want to say and promote trouble.

I can't see how the quote I provided promotes discussion, it is a clear denigration of a persons good name.

                  All IMO.

                  Regards

Peace be upon you Ash Shura,

Maintain your own peaceful state of mind. Your concern stems from worrying about what others think. This thread here should show you that many witnessing the debates have a clear idea of who is doing what, so while some want to play word games of "yes and no", in the end, it will have no effect. D

Be at ease, do not let anyone steal your peace. You have the right to remain SILENT D
