    Salaam all,
I'm looking for any Iranian organisation in or near Los Angeles, Tarzana or Woodland Hills, CA who could help an Iranian woman and her 2 children whom I know.
She left Iran to get away from an abusive, opium addicted husband and has remarried and lives near LA. The problem is that her current husband is controlling and not allowing her to work or to have friends and she feels so desperate that she is considering risking her life to return to Iran (she could be charged with kidnapping her children and she could be executed or sent to jail and tortured). The story is a long one, but I have known this woman for 3 years now and would like to know if there are any Iranians on this forum who know of good, trustworthy organisations near Los Angeles that could help her in any way since I'm not able to, due to the fact I live so far away.
I have offered her and her children my home as a safe refuge but it's all I can do at this point.
Thanks for any of your suggestions.
I hope also Layth doesn't mind me putting this in this forum. If so, my apologies. I just do not know what to do.
    Thank you.

      Salaam M Mehdi,
That site looks really great! I emailed over 21 Iranian organisations to ask them for help last night in recommending any resources in the LA area.

My problem is that since I don't live in LA, I don't know what resources are available to her.
Her English is excellent and she has no language barrier although she is hard of hearing in one ear.
She pretty much is penniless and I think her husband wants to keep her that way. He tells her lies and says "That's how it's done here in America." Then she asks me and I tell her no that's wrong. ( He is lying to keep her in control for sure. He's not letting her work so that he can keep her under his control. He threatened to leave her last week. These are all mind controlling games. Now she's terrified if he leaves she and her 2 children will be homeless. She wants to work desperately so she can feel independent and productive and I think this would help her self esteem greatly. She's also a college graduate with a BA in English Literature, I believe.
She has resorted to drinking to numb her pain. I'm really worried about her. I'm really afraid she might resort to suicide. That horrible man she is with is not worth dying over.
Thank you so much for the info on CalWorks. I'm going to give this information to her as soon as possible.
May God bless you M Mehdi. Kheyli mamnoon!

She needs to drop that bum like a bad habbit ASAP. I hope everything works out for her and hers. If not, house them. and be insisting.

        Peace
        Noah
