The Moon, The Sun, The Water, and Salat
-
Peace,
In my current understanding, salat is for the purpose of remembering, aligning, and connecting with the God, our perceptions, andour realities. One way is a meditational method that occurs right before sunrise and sunset.
With that said, has anyone ever considered the link between the forces of the moon and the sun on water and its possible link to salat's designated times of day and the mandatory use of water? For the first time, I allowed the water on my body to dry naturally as I meditated and a very interesting emotional and physical sensation overtook me.
I'm not trying to draw any conclusions, but it is definitely something I am researching at the moment.
It also made me think of the solunar theory. If you don't fish or have not heard of this concept, click the link below.

Peace salikah,
Very interesting observation! Thanks for the info and the link.
The fact that 30 minutes around sunrise and sunset are mentioned as peak times is particularly noteworthy...as is the information about June, especially in light of brother ayman's ramadan evaluation.
Indeed, the whole theory makes sense from the standpoint of biorhythms, doesn't it? And adds in our connection with water.
I'm going to try what you did, letting the water air dry, and see what happens. )

Hello Salika,
What you meditate wet and naked!!!!? -)
This is a forum, I don't think we want to know this!!!Just kiddin -)
I see you are back -)
I hope you are for some challenging debates! As for bio rythems, yes it is important. That is why the Morning and evening Meditation is recommended in ancient meditation text books. Our brain seems to be most "receptive" at those times...
As for wet meditation, I think I will freeze to death here. But in a hot country it will be excellent, though I think I will still have some clothes on -)

Peace,
Lotetree, you are so ridiculous! I was actually talking about the water used for washing and wiping hands, arms, face, head, and feet, silly. No, I was NOT naked. And even if I was, what's wrong with that? Did I miss an ayat forbidding me to carry out my individual salat in my birthday suit!?!?! shock shock
twisted twisted twisted twisted twistedHey Sytalls, thanks for alerting me to the ayman discussion. I'll have to check it out.

Peace be upon you Salikah,
Good information! All evidence leads to dawn and dusk being times where the universe stongly effects the physical matter from which we are created. These are times when we are receptive, especially during new and full moons. We are tied to the analogy of farming. And just like farmers, we need to take the time each day to Purify the weeds, so maintain the salaat and bring forth purification! D
