    Salaams,

    In Ayah 6145.

daman masfoohan - is translated by Ahmed Ali as "Running Blood" and in some Qurans it is poured Blood.

But taking the PB,s note isn't this Blood something you find like you find something DEAD or something Bad/Rotten ,Blood pouring from an animal which is what is being Forbidden here, wouldn?t it otherwise have said "Blood" rather then Running Blood?

    PB,s note

Carrion, can be any kind of dead animal specie, correct? Do you think at any time that, carrion was created as food? Did Allah, by nature, create dead/carrion things, blood or ill-seeming flesh, as food...good or otherwise? Are things, dedicated to Allah, always food stuffs?

Any takers? And I am not saying this is right - just looking for an opinion or two.

    Gods Blessings.

Just throwing this in, the masaai (a nomadic tribe in Kenya), drink blood from a cow while it's still alive. I've also seen them eat 'cooked blood'. It was disgusting to me, but it's their culture and everyone was fine with it.

        Three things

        1. That Allah has made haram the eating of blood, demonstrates that, it was never created as a food, otherwise, He wouldn't have made it haram.

        2. Blood, unlike the "flesh of swine", is not a species of animal.

        3. Allah, made no species of animal either in part or whole, by virtue if its created nature, haram. He made specific animals in their entirety haram and a specific part of a specific animals, haram. In neither case were the haram animals made haram, because they were by nature fasiqun/rijisun/evil. They were halal and made haram as a punishment.

          Peace all...

Looking at 6145 and the prohibitions on Carrion, blood poured forth and swine's meat., one thing that strikes me is that all of these things were used as offerings to pagan gods in the past. Maybe that is the reason for it being declared as Rijsun & Fisqun.. It certainly ties in with the one act which is not forgiven by ALLAH i.e associating with false gods or Shirk..

          Any views?

          regards

          Rahila

            Salaams ,All,

            Again
            "Running Blood"

And when it stops running / or when its not running?

Doesn't it simply mean don't have it whilst it is still hot /running /freshly poured from the animal????

Whats the meaning/purpose of stating "running"

            Salaams

              Peace,

Since it's virtually impossible to eat meat without consuming blood I understand the sanction as it relates to quantity. Large quantities of blood consumed at one time is harmful for humans, that's all. It doesn't say it's a sure death sentence otherwise we would not be able to consume it under duress. That would make it suicide.

The other sanctions are not species specific, they relate to the condition of the food. Rotten meat is harmful whether it be cow, pig, sheep, goat, etc. Blood poured forth, flowing, is harmful whether it's a cow, pig, sheep or goat.

As an aside, I find nothing in the arab religion of Islam bearing any semblane to the guidance in the reading.

How do you prepare your meat? I think we can wash the blood out of slaughtered animals. Sure some are left (clotting) but as you can see this goes out of the 'running blood' category.

                  Salaams All,

                  From another website

"Mixing blood from two individuals can lead to blood clumping or agglutination. The clumped red cells can crack and cause toxic reactions. This can have fatal consequences. Karl Landsteiner discovered that blood clumping was an immunological reaction which occurs when the receiver of a blood transfusion has antibodies against the donor blood cells."

                  http//nobelprize.org/medicine/educational/landsteiner/readmore.html

Wrong type of Blood getting into anybodies system is a killer , - But if the blood is not fresh/flowing ,boiling or cooking probably has the same effect the blood cells are killed so they cannot cause any side effects as the fresh/flowing blood can.

This can be the reason why flowing Blood isn?t recommended to be eaten ?May Be.

So is it edible?, cooked meat always has blood.

Gourself said ?I find nothing in the Arab religion of Islam bearing any semblane to the guidance in the reading.? - Agreed.

                  Salaams.

I like my meat cooked ) . To me, that is tayyib, for others maybe not. All the good is allowed.
