To those who claim bowing/prostrating towards Kaaba is shirk

Peace,
Thank you, Zein.
How were the Malaykah taught that knowledge? I believe that that is what Lote Tree was wondering about.
The Malaykah were talking about the future as if it was happening right in front of them. The clear future is part of "Al Ghayb". I know that "Al Ghayb" belongs to Allah only.Or maybe Allah told the Malaykah about Adam's mischief, before surprising them with His decision to make Adam a khaleefah on Earth, in spite of it! Which was very puzzling to the Malaykah!

SaLaM Taj
Forgive me for going off-topic here but i find it immensily interesting how words from ancient languages remain intact even after 1400 years. So think of it as a general knowledge P . For example, did you know that "Ghayb" in urdu means "Invisible"? So "Al Ghayb" is the same word in Urdu AND the arabic spoken in UAE, "The Invisible". I find that soo cool.
Ok, continue discussion oops

Salam M,
Perhaps the malaika knew because al-Jinn are humans and in thier jinn-ness, they caused bloodshed, and they came before the creation of Adam, the first civilised humanity
That is a long and wide tale to assume about the Jinn, when Al Quran states loud and clear that Allah created Al Jinn min "Marijinn min Narr" "A smokeless Fire"!
You are assuming first that Al Jinn are humans, and uncivilized ones too! Also that the Malaykah's knowledge of the bloodshed was based on a previous human experience. I am out of here! -
Hey there cowboy!
Salam,
Some here including Ayman claimed that bowing towards a physical structure cannot possibly be GOD's command and would be shirk. To prove how nonsensible this assertion is one only needs to consider those Quranic verses where GOD Himself commands the angels to protrate, yes the very same word PROSTRATE, before Adam. So who do you think they were worshipping, Adam or God? See the difference? GOD Bless!Adam means human or man kind, thus the prostration you are refering to cannot possibly mean a physical one.
Bye!

Peace be upon you Taj, Marie, and all,
Great posts regarding the malaika!
Regarding if "malaika" know the future or not, I think we error by going right back to a literal understanding right after "crossing the sea" D
What I mean is, we understand it properly to get past the first hurdle by stating that malaika are just the controlling energies manifest from the one God and that they are entrusted to the human to manage, metaphorically stated as the story of the God commanding the malaika to submit to Adam. So why do we then go back to a literal understanding of "controlling energies" now "knowing the future"? The question need not even come up, its just a symbolic story from which it sounds like we have already pierced the veil of the metaphor, it was DESTINED that man would struggle in his duty towards the energies of the universe.
In man there is the divine, which is at the core of being, and then there is the energetic vehicle (thoughts/words/physical body, etc). The CORE is stillness/peace, where the God resides within on ITS throne, and where the journey leads. Everything coming from the STILLNESS manifests as ENERGY/ANIMATION, the opposite of STILLNESS/PEACE. So the major desire in life is for PEACE. So we greet PEACE BE UPON YOU, to those who trust.
So when man IDENTIFIES with the energetic part of being, we get the speech being directed from the "malaika", but when man returns his/her identification to the ONE WHO SEES, the Ultimate PEACE that witnesses thoughts, emotions and all forms of energy, then it is speech directed from the God. But it is given to us as a story, a similitude. Let us not be like the ones who were given a similitude of a man dying on a cross and take it literally.

Peace be upon you,
Another analogy is the driver being the true self, and the Car being the ENERGIES. The story would be given to us as a child(adam) being given permission to try and drive the car in a wide open space, the car rejects to this stating that the child will cause an accident(bloodshed), but the God(true self) knows that the child has within it the ability to see and decide(choose) and that the PRACTICE of driving will ultimately result in SOME children learning how to drive(manifest the energies properly).
