    SaLaM Taj

Why would any woman work as a prostitute?
The answer is It is a job for the desperate!

Sorry Taj but that is not true. If a disabled man can work decently, so can a woman. That is why i dont give money to beggers. They have 2 hands and feet . Use them.

As for what you say about men and marriage is true. In arab world, in pakistan, in india. In every single country. God allows the woman to get out of that kind of marrage. Thats the whole point of divorce.

      Salaam sister taj,

reading your new post i better understand your point, but i don't think this means that prostitution is allowed. Quran is just taking into account something that always existed and takes the blame away from those who are forced.

No, prostitution is not only for the desperate - true most are, poverty, drugs, illegal immigrants being forced aso - but some people just see it as the easiest way to make their living... And don't forget, we also have masculin prostitution. Even though they might not often see themselves as such....

Pay dowry first before having sex with your girlfriend. Then you're married.

              Salaam,

Pay dowry first before having sex with your girlfriend.

Actually, dowry is what the female's family would pay to the to be husband. Mehr, or nuptual gift, is what the husband is to give to his to be bride.

                  Salaam Jaxal,

No, mehr means nuptual gifts, not dowry. Therefore the husband gives nuptual gifts. Dowry is something else.

I will use this as an opportunity to show you how you can be very lost in discussions. I did not say that the quran says women are to give anything to the man in marriage.

I was telling Tony that dowry is what a woman's family gives to her husband. The quran does not mention dowry, but it mentions mehr, which is nuptual gifts. That is, what a man should give to his wife to be.

Why are you pounding your head so much?

See how easy it is to mix Quran with other sourches.

                            Salaamun alaikum Taj et al,

I was thinking about this blinding sex need and whether Al Quran has anything to say about it. I came to realize that Al Quran does not forbid prostitution! In Arabic it is called = Bighaa'a.

So your principle is, if it's not actually mentioned in al-quraan, its ok to do ? What's the Arabic for 'internet fraud'. That doesn't exist in al-quraan either, apparently. Is that also allowed in Islam?

I think your deduction is wrong. Just because the word isn't there, doesn't make it ok to do. Rather, you should analyse the ACTUAL ACT of prostitution (i.e. having sex outside legal permeters) and make your deduction.

Al Quran addresses it as a job that some women practice. I think that in the West this job exists, but maybe without the condition Married men are not allowed!

Im sorry but my knowledge of al-quran is very limited. Would you mind pointing out where Allah says that 'prositutiuon is the job of some women'. I know the word 'al-bighaa' isnt there, so perhaps there's another word. Thanks.

So for those desperate unmarried men, I believe it is not wrong to buy this need and so, save their fianc?s from engaging in something that may not end up with marriage!

Right, so let me get this straight. They go to the whores, they pay them and they do the deed. So they're having sex without a legal bond. What's the Arabic for having sex outside the marital bond. Im taking a guess here, but isnt that zinaa?

in the Ayah Allah ask the fathers not to force their daughters to work as such. Allah does not blame those girls for what they were forced to do

Allah doesn't blame the girls who are FORCED, correct. But does forced here mean 'its either this or i work at mcdonalds'. So does this make it ok , i wonder?

In Ayah I see that it is a choice that the woman only owns and nobody else, not even her father. The Ayah shows the choice between protection and shelter provided by one "lasting" man or a living provided by temporary men. It is a choice that belongs to the woman only. The Ayah does not condemn the women who have to make the second choice. The Ayah asks the fathers not to control and force their daughters to go into that profession IF the daughters choose protection and shelter. What if the daughters wanted to go that way? The Ayah doesn't say anything about that dicision.

Ayah urges people to marry the poor because if the capable would ignore the poor when choosing a wife or a husband, then the poor would have to make tough choices in order to survive.

                                Salaam Sis Taj,

I don't want to comment the arabic words because that is out of my knowledge.

But instead I want to point out the importance to be chaste and clean in front of God.

A whore is not a job and it can never be a clean and acceptable job.

But we all knows that it exist some places it's open but other places it's in the hidden.

If we instead will talking about truebelievers in God, both men and females.

No true believer in God will commit a crime even if they are poor, all those poor people we can watch on TV from muslim areas like Afghanistan, Iraq,Palestine,Iran and more places are not true believers.

True believers will let their good moral be a guideline for people who are victims for Shaitan.

Shaitan is a big and dangerous enemy but Beware God when the judgementday will arrive.

I really can't believe that truebelievers can be whores or childmolestors, rapists because truebelievers are in peace and this isn't fit with criminalities.

You also said that parents can force their kids to do awful things, yes that's true of course but God knows who will be bad persons in their lives.

We all have got a brain to think with but some people don't use it.

We who are here at this forum must be better to see who are truebelievers or not.

I know we are not God and can judge other people.
But we have to work to be better on all stages.

Sorry if I jumped too much in this post but I hope that you have got my stand on this!?

                                Peace

                                  Salam Taj,

Al Bighaa'a is mentioned in Ayah . The Quran mentions it very clearly.

Ah sorry, my mistake. I misunderstood you there and should have checked.

It is clearly mentioned in Ayah as a profession known to the society.

                                  Here's what 24/33 says about al-bighaa

wala tukrihoo fatayatikum AAala albigha-i in aradna tahassunanl itabtaghoo AAarada alhayati alddunya.

All it says is, don't force them onto al-bighaa when they desire chastity seeking worldliness.

You said Al Quran addresses it as a job that some women practice. I think that in the West this job exists, but maybe without the condition Married men are not allowed!

Where does al-quraan ever say 'some women practise this' and its ok if they are desperate ? These are all your assumptions, Taj.

If married people engage in sex from outside the marriage, this is Zina.

Hehe, nice one. Except that the word 'zaani' and 'zaaniyah' refer to ANYONE (married or not) who engage in non-marital sex. This includes prostitution obviously. So the only way al-bighaa is allowed is if where you come from, the prostitutes just sing lullabies.

In Ayah I see that it is a choice that the woman only owns and nobody else, not even her father. Exactly. The ayat doesnt say anything but YOU say its OK. Hey its very easy for women to be whores. All they have to do is run thier business from inside closed doors. In a Quranic society, no one breaches the closed doors. That makes it legally ok, but morally ? If Allah says do not go near az-zinaa, this shows its morally degenerating and will ultimately destroy society. This by no means makes it 'ok'.

Pay dowry first before having sex with your girlfriend. Then you're married.

Sorry if i shock anyone but to me this sounds like " you have to pay the prostitute before you consume"...

                                      Salaam Sis Elke,

I agree with you sure it sounds like that shock

Once again i will point out that unmarried truebelievers would be chaste and humble themselves in front of God and not seeking forbidden fruits.

The believing men are for the believing women so I guess we all should think about that when we choose a life partner to get married to.

                                      Peace
                                      Sis Majidah

Here, it is the custom at the wedding, that well-whishers would greet the groom by saying"From you the money, from her the children". !

                                          Salaam Sis Taj,

I will kindly ask you if you enjoy and like your countries customs!?

I'm not either quite sure which country you are living in, is it SA?

                                          Peace
