Can anyone elaborate on how orgasms play a part in a spiritual sense not just a biological sense for fertilisation.

The feeling you get is out of this world and I believe everything has a purpose in life....why couldn't orgasms just be without any feeling why did that "high" feeling was created when reaching orgasm. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome lol

    PEACE

            Salaam br,

well I guess there must be something more behind a orgasm that's for sure but I don't know what.

              I have a theory.

Since humans have developed their brains and intellect, we became more involved in pursuit of knowledge and other endeavours. I think if sex/orgasm wasn't as enjoyable as it is, we probaby would've becom extinct since it would become nothing more than a messy, tiring, physical task..rather than a wonderful experience to be share with someone for whom you have deep feelings.

We'd be too distracted with our worldy and spiritual affairs to even bother to reproduce. Maybe....

Also, there are certain biological functions of orgasms that are absolutely necessary. For example, the woman's cervix sort of dips lower into the vaginal cavity during orgasm, in order to "scoop up" the man's sperm, thus improving the chances of pregnancy. As for men, it just makes us sleepy. hahaha.

                  Salaam br Mo.mentum,

Hey are u a doctor man?

Or do u have experience from orgasms?

Well worth to know is that there must be very deep feelings involved to get able to reach an orgasm.

I mean to just have sex with a guy whom I'm not in love with doesn't give me orgasm.

I have been married with same man during 15 years and I can count on my fingers the times i have reach orgasm, not many!

But our marriage is to an end and I really hope that my next husband will give me more pleasure Insha Allah.

                  Peace
                  Sis Majidah

                      Peace be upon you,

The spiritual side of orgasm is probably mental creation. We stir up our the RUH(Divine Energy which creates and moves all things to thier destination) until it gets to a point where it takes over (you dont control orgasm).

                        hi guys

                        the purpose of the orgasm

Clues for a reasonable adaptation hypothesis were readily available by the late 1960s, when The British Medical Journal published an exchange of letters about the muscular contractions and uterine suction associated with women's orgasm. In one letter, a doctor reported that a patient's uterine and vaginal contractions during sex with a sailor had pulled off his condom. Upon inspection, the condom was found in her cervical canal! The doctor concluded that female orgasms pull sperm closer to the egg as well.

Yet, it was only three years ago that two British biologists, Robin Baker and Mark Bellis, tested the so-called upsuck hypothesis. They were building upon ideas articulated by evolutionary biologist Robert Smith, who suggested that since women don't have orgasms every time out, female orgasm favors some sperm over others. Baker and Bellis sought to learn just how female orgasms might affect which of a lover's sperm is used to fertilize a woman's eggs.

They discovered that when a woman climaxes any time between a minute before to 45 minutes after her lover ejaculates, she retains significantly more sperm than she does after nonorgasmic sex. When her orgasm precedes her male's by more than a minute, or when she does not have an orgasm, little sperm is retained. Just as the doctors' letters suggested decades earlier, the team's results indicated that muscular contractions associated with orgasm pull sperm from the vagina to the cervix, where it's in better position to reach an egg.

                        Excerpts from http//www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=35250&page=2

And for the feelings, they are chemical responses like the rest of them!

In both sexes, activity in the amygdala, which processes fear and anxiety, was reduced during stimulation. Women, but not men, showed lower activity in the hippocampus, important for memory, as well.

In men, greater activity was seen in the insula, which deals with emotion, and particularly in the secondary somatosensory cortex, which rates the significance of physical sensations. This suggests that the sensory input is being judged highly important and pleasurable by the brain.

Women, however, show very little increased brain activity, and only in the primary somatosensory cortex -
