Random Jinn thoughts
-
I was surfing the Net randomly, looking for books about Kurds, and then I noticed the title of one, called "Children of the jinn in search of the Kurds and Their Country" by Margaret Kahn. I havent been able to obtain a copy, but I am curious as to why the title is the way it is.
Also, I'm a big fan of Japanese anime and manga. I notice sometimes characters have the name of 'Jinn', so I looked up the Japanese meaning of the word and came back with meanings varying from "Person", 'Human' or "Man".
Just found these little tidbits interesting, I do still ponder whether Jinn are human beings and not aliens or spirits or something. 'Jinn created of fire?' Maybe not literal fire... Then again, 'men' and 'jinn' are mentioned seperately at times in the Quran, so...
Anyway. oops

SaLaM Joe
Always the inquesitive one ) . As for the source of backing up my statment, i bring forth the Quran, the word of God all mighty. And the verses i put forward are the following
And the Jinn He created from a blazing fire.
And We have created man from a clay hardened and shaped.
As we can see from the above two verses, cleary there is a difference between man and jinn. Does it pass your approval Joe http//www.geocities.com/bigjaxal/s1.gif

My understanding is the same as Jaxals. One thing for sure is that Jinns are hidden and are intellectual beings like humans and are percievable by some human beings like clairvoyant people.
I'm not ready to accept the notion that Jinns are human beings for the simple fact of too many I guess you can say "paranormal" activities which leads me to believe are Jinns. Also if we take the Quranic ayats literal we come to a conclusion that Jinns are separate entities and not human beings. It's hard I guess finding which verses are allegorical and which are literal for non-law giving verses in the Quran as God has already told us the law giving verses are literal. I guess patience and study on the verses is the key and of course asking for Gods' guidance.
