status of women - as seen from The Quran
-
Hey wakas
I composed a very nice article that is Quran based about the staus of women in Paradise, I did this on a debate a few months back, would you like me to post it here?
cheers
-
no mate this is not cut and paste but not short as well, this was put together by me, not every single word though rather most of it ands surely all the Quran verses and my comments on the verses
it is sort of all the possible logical refutes against the argument mentioned in my first comment
-
Peace wakas
I read the article, good work for sure, but mine is more specific in the paradise issue, also my forum is very hostile and I do not want to post a link to it in here, I'm just having a break really, here it is anyway, if you think it is not suited to the subject you can remove it freely, I'm also aware that some people are suggesting that Hour also means beautiful men but I jusy can not accept this so far
The status of women compared to men in paradise can be reflected upon from the folloing logic
Logic 1 Allah is never unjust not even of the weight of an atom
?Allah is never unjust not even of the weight of an atom If there is any good (done), He doubleth it, and giveth from His own presence a great reward.?
(40)
-> Clear as light what Allah is telling us about Himself, His rewards for the good deeds will be doubled and yet gives more Rewards in His presence, and sure He is never unjust not even of the weight of an atom
Logic 2 It should be clear that Paradise is the abode of happiness; all its dwellers, males or females, will be showered with Allah?s blessings and favours.
There is no discrimination in this regard between men and women. It is righteousness and good deeds that elevates one?s rank in Paradise and exalts his/her position. In more than one Quranic verse, Allah the All Knowing calls upon His servants to do their utmost in order to be favoured with Paradise, i.e. men will not be equal in their rewards between them as well women will nnot be equal in their rewards between them, this in effect means we can not compare the rewards between men and women, because we may see in paradise a woman that is in far better position than a man, yet both will be happy
?And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil).?
(133)
Logic 3, Paradise is so Huge that anyone who enter it will be amazed with the new things we see every day and for eternity
looking again at the last verse (shown again below) we see that Paradise is so huge and has too many unlimited new beautiful things that humans never saw before which will render sex a low priority in Paradise, because all humans know what sex already is, the difference in paradise is nothing more than amazing beauty and pureness
?And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil).?
(133)
-> can you see how Allah described the width of the Paradise as big as the size of all the things around us and even bigger than as far as we can see which so far is 13 billion light years, and that is only for the width, how about its length then?. The point is this there will be numerous new things that we will keep discovering for eternity, believe me, we are dealing with a God who created us and created what we see around us just for the testing and sure there are many things around us and yet we are not able to see it yet, how about His reward for His slaves who prospered who warded off (evil)? It is unimaginable, so having sex will be nothing to race for in paradise as men do here on earth; sex on earth for men is more of a test than it is for women, why? Because they are different inside, This sex reward is only for men and only mentioned a few times in the Quran, the other paradise descriptions are huge compared to a few times those virgins were mentioned, but you know why it is for men, because men and woman are different, emotionally and psychologically, not just in shape, otherwise if our interior structure is the same, we will be like homosexuals exactly with different looks, and consequently homosexuality should not be forbidden logically speaking, Allah actually has explained important issue that He made women and men unlike each other, let?s look at the verse
Logic 4 Men are not like Women and Women are not like Men
?And when she was delivered she said My Lord! Lo! I am delivered of a female ? Allah knew best of what she was delivered - the male is not as the female; and lo! I have named her Mary, and lo! I crave Thy protection for her and for her offspring from Satan the outcast.?
(36)
-> The verse here is talking about Mary?s birth, Her mother the wife of Imran wanted a boy to server God, then when she delivered the baby girl, she said to Allah that she delivered a baby girl and she wanted a baby boy to be a servant to God, then she added that the male is not as the female, obviously she knew that women can not do tasks that men can do and vis verse for sure, she thought that a woman can not be a servant of God, while Allah responded to her that He knows in advance of the sex of the baby she will get, however you still see that how Imran wife wish was granted by making the Son of Mary ?Jesus? one of the greatest servants of Allah , and when I say one of the greatest prophets, I mean from Allah perspective, as the true believers can not differentiate between the prophets Allah sent to humanity.
-> It is clear that men and woman are different but let?s discuss the difference in sex only, well Allah already told us so. He is allowing one male to marry up to 4 females but only if all the females are happy, and by just looking at this difference, we will say that if Allah rule is applied correctly ?all 4 wives are happy?, then no damage is done to anyone and no unjust is done to anyone, but I know for certain that with the human properties inserted into us by Allah, like jealousy for example, this condition will never happen i.e all women are happy will never be granted, in fact Allah told us so in the Quran and hence He ordered us to marry only ONE if we can not satisfy all criteria of polygamy in life, you see mate how Allah is testing us all the times,
Logic 5 Men and Women are equal in entering paradise and yet they are 2 different beings and every one of them will be rewarded according to their good deeds and their humbling to Allah
?For Muslim men and women,- for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for truthful men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in Charity, for men and women who fast (and deny themselves), for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Allah's praise,- for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward.?
(35)
-> The above verse is really nice man, it lists the 10 most important descriptions of the true believers in Allah and yet it repeated with every single description ?men and women? i.e. men and women is repeated ten times in this verse alone, this is how Allah is stressing that men and woman are equal in entering paradise according to their belief first then their good deeds second, those great people Allah has prepared a great reward for them, you can sense that Allah is stressing the men is not like women regarding their physical and emotional natures, other wise Allah would say something like ?O People who??.then list the 10 descriptions without repeating the words men and women 10 times in one verse ?would that make sense to you for the time being?, but please read carefully the following that will confirm this
-> This made me ask why not Allah Law of polygamy is also allowed in the hereafter by Him? Or in another way what can make Him change it?. Well, we know that Allah told us that He is never unjust, and I know for certain that all the bad emotions and psychological properties inserted in life will be removed in Paradise like jealousy, let?s look at the following 3 verses from 2 different locations
Logic 6 The bad properties we have in this testing life will be removed from the people who will prosper and enter Paradise, i.e. no jealousy, no fatigue, no hate etc?
?And We shall remove from their hearts any ill-feelings ;- beneath them will be rivers flowing;- and they shall say Praise be to Allah, who hath guided us to this (felicity) never could we have found guidance, had it not been for the guidance of Allah indeed it was the truth, that the messengers of our Lord brought unto us." And they shall hear the cry Behold! the garden before you! Ye have been made its inheritors, for your deeds (of righteousness).?
(43)
(47) ?And We shall remove from their hearts any rancour. (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity).?
(4 ?There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave.?
(47)
(4-> As you can read it, not just the ill-feelings will be removed from our hearts, but as well no sense of fatigue shall touch the people in paradise
-> and in another verse it says clearly that our eye sight strength will be to the max after death i.e. we will start seeing things that we can not see it yet due to the physical restrictions by Allah on us during this testing life, so If Allah who is the one that created the jealousy feelings as well the desire for sex, and He will remove jealousy it from the people who enter paradise, there is nothing that we can say for certain that the women in paradise when seeing their husbands sleeping with ?HOOR EL EIN? ?the beautiful virgins in paradise- promised for righteous men? as well it is quite possible that the sexual desire will be altered between men and women i.e. it may not be the same as we see it in this testing life, the idiot humans try to compare things they never saw or know the full extent of it with things that is known A to Z. Well, we know that there will be no jealousy and we know by now that Paradise will have so much in it never seen beauty that we will worry less about sex, in this paragraph an important question must be raised How we know that the man and his wife will both enter Paradise together?. Logically, we have the following possibilities
- None of them enters paradise
- Only the man will prosper and his wife has gone to Hell
- Only the woman will prosper and her husband has gone to Hell
- Both will prosper and enter Paradise
but for possibility 4, we have to note that both may differ in their rewards, because me and my wife can not be equal to the smallest details in the belief in Allah, I see her with more rewards as a believing mother who suffered with her babies during pregnancy and breast feeding ?breast feeding was ordered to the women by Allah in the Quran to be done for two years, I was lucky that I was breast feed for exactly 2 years?, this suffering by a believing mother, and I asked my wife that if she please do it with my son and she accepted?, I have nothing to do with it, I never suffered really other than lack of sleep because of the cry and yet the mother is the one who runs for her baby at any time, so she must be rewarded with things that I will not be rewarded with, but most importantly we will differ in reward according to the difference in how humble me and her were, and sure this will differ 100% between us ?a man and his wife?
-> looking again at the above 4 possibilities, we need to worry not about possibility 1, and possibly 2 and 3 will be matched together ?Paradise Match Show?, well I will not get into a silly argument of what will happen if the numbers unbalanced, However there is a simple answer to that, Allah can make any one happy and joyful enough to not to ever think about sex
-> Let?s only concentrate on possibility 4, and sure I know the followings
Logic 7 ?HOOR EL EIN? are nothing but sex slaves, i.e. they do not have freewill, and they do not enjoy paradise, they are creatures in the looks of beautiful women that are programmed by Allah to have sex only
Those so called ?HOOR EL EIN?, are nothing but a creature made for sex as a reward for men who will fight their lust for women, in fact they will not be enjoying Paradise like the people ?the men? who prospered. The Quran is telling us that those ?HOOR EL EIN? will always be confined to the pavilions, i.e. they do not go outside and enjoy Paradise with the men
?Pure ones confined to the pavilions.?
(72)
-> In addition to that the prophet told us in many hadith that I believe in, the wives who will prosper with their husbands and enter paradise they will be far superior in beauty and any other matter to those so called ?HOOR EL EIN?, so you tell me who is the idiot that will leave his far superior and more beautiful wife as well the amazing things that he will see with her ?women are allowed to enjoy paradise like men?, and stay at the pavilions sleeping with sex slaves who are not allowed to go out?.
Logic 8 Paradise is not for men alone. It is prepared for both, righteous men and righteous women.
All the joys and blessings of paradise are for both of them. Allah has mentioned in the Quran that He put both Adam and his wife Eve in paradise after creating them, and He told them to eat and enjoy everything (except the fruit of one tree). That was at the start of the creation, The Quran actually told us about the wives who will enter paradise with their husbands after the Judgment day, and sure any righteous member of their familles will join as well, like fathers, sons, and daughters, it is going to be a joyful family reunion for the people who are righteous
?Gardens of perpetual bliss they shall enter there, as well as the righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring?
(23)
Logic 9 There is unlimited new things in paradise that the righteous and their righteous wives will be occupied and in addition they will always have what they ask for
This is very important to know and unimaginable to comprehend at the same time that the righteous people will have what they ask for ?men and women?, this means no one will be ever UPSET
(55)?Indeed, the people of Paradise will be happily occupied.?
(56)?They and their wives shall be in shades, reclining on raised couches.?
(57) ?There are for them fruits and there is for them all that they ask for?
(55)
(56)
(57)Logic 10 Everyone who will enter Paradise will be made glad including the righteous husband and righteous wife
(70)?Enter the Garden, you and your wives, you will be made glad.?
(71) ?There will be brought round for them trays of gold and goblets, and therein is all that the souls desire and eyes find sweet and you will stay there forever.?
(72) ?This is the garden, which you are made to inherit because of what you used to do.?
(70)
(71)
(72)-> It is obvious that there will be infinite things to do in Paradise, There are many other places in the Quran where it is mentioned that men and women both will find their reward and none will be deprived
Logic 11 There is no doubt that reward in the Hereafter encompasses both men and women. This is based on the following Quranic verses
? And their Lord hath accepted of them, and answered them "Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female Ye are members, one of another Those who have left their homes, or been driven out there from, or suffered harm in My Cause, or fought and been slain,- verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath;- A reward from the presence of Allah, and from His presence is the best of rewards."?
(195)
?And whoever does righteous good deeds, being a male or a female, and is a true believer, such will enter Paradise, and not the least injustice will be done to them.?
(124)
-> There is two notes in here the verse is clear righteous males and females will enter Paradise, the first note is the righteous people is not just to do good deeds, THEY MUST BE TRUE BELIVERS, as seen from the verse, this will answer many on this web site, who think that only doing good deeds is enough to prosper and they do not really care about who is the true God and even they careless to read His Messages, well they will be taken with many shocking surprises starting seconds just before death, good luck to everyone if you think it is only going to be luck
-> The second note can you see how accurate the Quran is?, remember in the first verse I posted in this post verse 440 it said ?Allah is never unjust not even of the weight of an atom?, and here it said not the least injustice will be done to them?, I love the Quran, and this is how you test it
?Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith in Allah, verily, to him will We give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions?
(97)
Conclusion
-
It is also mentioned in the true Hadith that the women of this worldly life have superiority over Hoor El Ein due to the acts of worship and obedience that they performed in this world. Therefore, the believing women will enter Paradise just like the believing men. If a woman had a number of husbands, she, upon entering Paradise with them, would choose among them the one with the best character and behaviour
-
Paradise is the abode of the believers in the Hereafter. Allah has prepared for His believing servants, males and females, in Paradise indescribable bliss which no eye has seen, no ear has heard of, and that has never ever crossed the minds of people, to the extent that even the person who has the least blessings in Paradise will think that he is the most blessed one.
-
It is meant for those who want it, not for every single male. Yet every Muslim man and woman who is allowed to enter Paradise is given the opportunity to get whatever he or she wants as clearly stated in the Quran and many true Hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This means that those women who don?t want their husbands to have more could be granted this wish and desire. At the same time if the husbands of those women want to have more than them Allah is great and can satisfy each of them in the way He, the Almighty, wants.
-
Therefore, a woman should not be frustrated for a privilege of polygamy offered to men. This is not, for sure, at the expense of woman. Paradise is meant for both men and women, both of them are equally entitled to get what they wish for.
-
Certainly, there would be no clashes in their wishes, if any, the Almighty knows how to please each of them. Having said that, I shall inform you that the existing setup of humans in terms of desire, would be changed on the day of Judgment as I explained with supporting verses from the Quran. In other words, both men and women would not be allowed to enter Paradise in their existing physical makeup. They will be in a better and greater form as stated by the Quran and as well the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Both of them would enjoy living together and having whatever they wish and like.
-
Allah mentions the Hoor El Ein because in most cases men pursue women and not vice versa. As for women, Allah Almighty may marry them to any of the believers in Paradise, if they did not get married during worldly life, or He may compensate them by making them feel content with their position. It is also said that Allah may grant women some kind of beauty with which they will feel that they are better than the Hoor El Ein and that they are their mistress, so they will not love anyone other than their own husbands nor will they feel jealous of the Hoor El Ein.?, but if a male is allowed in life to marry more than one with conditions, why not to marry more than one in Paradise without conditions if he is righteous?, and the same for the woman, if she was only allowed to marry only one man in life, what is the wisdom of allowing her to get done by many men in paradise? If a Muslim woman ever thinks that what she deserves then I have to tell you this Muslim woman will never see Paradise
-
Finally, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) describes Paradise as a place where there are many things which no eyes have ever seen, no ears have ever heard before and no heart has ever felt. Let us pray the Almighty to grant us this great and wonderful place. Let us work harder and harder to be in this place. It is only through our full submission to the will and the orders of Allah that we will one day be granted this place. The life of women in Paradise will be as pleasant and happy as the life of men. Allah is not partial to any gender. He created both of them and He will take care of both of them according to their needs and desires. I remind you to work harder ?male or female? to achieve the Paradise and then, inshaAllah, we will find there what will satisfy all of us fully.
Allah knows best
Peace

Agree, but the polygamy is allowed under the following condition
43. And if you fear that you cannot be just to the orphans......But if you fear you will not be fair, then only one... -
Salaam all,
One thing that hit me is that why there must be special conditions for women!?
Aren't both male and females equal according Quran????

I don't understand your question, please elaborate.
Do you speak about polygamy for women?

434. The men are to support the women by what God has gifted them over one another and for what they spend of their money. The upright women who are attentive, and keep private the personal matters for what God keeps watch over. As for those women from whom you fear a desertion, then you shall advise them, and abandon them in the bedchamber, and separate from them; if they obey you, then do not seek a way over them; God is High, Great.
ThanksShabir
434 Men are the protectors and maintainers of women. They shall take full care of women with what they spend of their wealth. Allah has made men to excel in some areas and women to excel in some areas. Men must see to it that women are provided for, and that they are able to stand on their feet in the society. So, righteous women are obedient to Allahs Ordinances and guard their moral values even in privacy, the Values that Allah Commands to be guarded. If you experience rebellion from women, and they stand up against you, apprise them of possible consequences. Next, leave them in their resting places apart from you. And keep admonishing them with examples that they stop rebelling. If they pay heed to you, seek not a way against them. Allah is Most High, Great.Actually, both men and women are maintainers for their home in several country. The women is autonome and deosn't need men to support it.
In some country, women still depends on the man.

Salaam sis Marie,
No, I don't speak of something special but rather in general.
I mean Quran don't speak about special men issues so why women must be sorted out to be something different?
Or maybe this is our tradition as humans to look at the genders differences than to the equality between them.
I wonder when that day comes when women is the same in respect as men!?

Aha, sex slaves in heaven. I have more understanding now how feelings of contempt for our religion could had arisen from the infidels. B.S for me.
SwedenMajidah, does equality means treating both sexes alike in the light of biological, psychological, and physiological sameness, in addition to sameness in their roles in life? Perhaps this will tell more....

Peace Vizard, all

I do not believe that we will be sexual beings in afterlife. The souls counts and the souls in my eyes doesn't have male or female gender.

Salaam Vizard,
Yes I believe in God's way of equality between men and women.
Nowhere in Quran have i read that it's ok to mistreat the opposite gender.
And sexslaves oh no!!!!
In paradise the souls will be in peace if that includes sexual wellbeings hmn I dunno that.We will have to wait and see wink

try reading the Quran. polygamy is only mentioned in the case of man marrying mother of orphans in order to take care of them(and not exactly to satisfy his carnal insticts), and that too only becoz those days, due to the battle then, there were loads of widows and very few men. so, Quran doesnt exactly promote polygamy at large to satisfy one's carnal instincts.
the other day in news i heard an iraqi suicide bomber(14 yr old) saying he wanted to die for the sake of Allah killing innocent civilians becoz he wanted the 40 virgins that are promised in heaven. and i thought ''where did this theory of 40 virgins come from''. now i see, more people seem to carry this belief. -
hi,
Hello
are u implying polyandry is permitted on earth?
the way I see it from the Quran, is yes it is allowed as long as the other wives are widows with CHILDREN
- It is meant for those who want it, not for every single male. no i did not say sexual satisfaction
I said Allah can satisfy, NOT sexually satisfy
I see staisfaction in many more other thinks but sex, unless you see sex is the only thing that satisfy
- Therefore, a woman should not be frustrated for a privilege of polygamy offered to men. This is not, for sure, at the expense of woman. Paradise is meant for both men and women, both of them are equally entitled to get what they wish for.

this is what i believe in mister, so before you give me some sacrcastic comments to go and read the , Quran, you should go and read my other comments regarding polygamy

looks like u have misunderstood me here. polyandry is woman having many husbands.
- those women who don?t want their husbands to have more could be granted this wish and desire. At the same time if the husbands of those women want to have more than them
what? roll now, more of what?

i am sorry. not meant as sarcasm. but polygamy isnt exactly allowed on earth except if its the only way to protect the widow and her children. now there wont be widows needing protection of men in paradise, will they?
and so ur conclusion is stupid.try reading the Quran. polygamy is only mentioned in the case of man marrying mother of orphans in order to take care of them(and not exactly to satisfy his carnal insticts), and that too only becoz those days, due to the battle then, there were loads of widows and very few men. so, Quran doesnt exactly promote polygamy at large to satisfy one's carnal instincts.

and no, i am not mixed up.
but check polygamy in Quran.the other day in news i heard an iraqi suicide bomber(14 yr old) saying he wanted to die for the sake of Allah killing innocent civilians becoz he wanted the 40 virgins that are promised in heaven. and i thought ''where did this theory of 40 virgins come from''. now i see, more people seem to carry this belief.

again, no sarcasm meant. only a bit shocked. i understand u r not in favour of terrorism thats very good. but that 14 yr old boy out there who is not old enough to know his own good, believes what is being told to him- that he would get 40 virgins in heaven if he dies killing other non muslims.
now mister what is your point exactly?
my point is polygamy is not allowed in earth to satisfy carnal instincts.
and i am a female! -
hi,
Hello
looks like u have misunderstood me here. polyandry is woman having many husbands.
ok, sorry for my lack of english, no I don't believe in polyandry
i am sorry. not meant as sarcasm. but polygamy isnt exactly allowed on earth except if its the only way to protect the widow and her children. now there wont be widows needing protection of men in paradise, will they?
ok thanks, yes this is how I understand polygamy, please note my comment above is not about polygamy, it is about WHY THE QURAN MENTIONED HOOR FOR MEN AND NOT FOR WOMEN and it was on a sunni web site, I'm not a sunni btw and never been in my life, so don't get me wrong please
peace.
and no, i am not mixed up.
but check polygamy in Quran.I know it well sis
here is what I firmly believe in and according to the Quran
if a man wants to marry another woman, she must have children in desperate need and the motive must be to care for her children
and if he chooses to go ahead then he should be aware that he will never be fair between them and consequently Allah said marry only one
hence a true and 100% submitter to Allah must marry only one woman and even we need to worry not about the orphans in this case
again, no sarcasm meant. only a bit shocked. i understand u r not in favour of terrorism thats very good. but that 14 yr old boy out there who is not old enough to know his own good, believes what is being told to him- that he would get 40 virgins in heaven if he dies killing other non muslims.
I agree but I'm not a 14 years old boy rather a 40 years old man, for me I don't believe in this ahadiths about the numbers of hoor we will get, I don't care about the hoor and I'm not looking forward to have'm, I want my only wife with me in paradise if I will ever go there with her
my point is polygamy is not allowed in earth to satisfy carnal instincts.
I agree 100% with your point and sorry for being a bit rude sister
