just wondering if you could give me an ayah which has the word Shamsa "SUN" in it so i may translate it according to my research of what i think it should have been.
I believe there is still a lot of mistranslation in the quran - which some one ought to do something about.
And its not just the SUN but a few other bits and pieces.
I believe this sun worshipping is from the biblical infosee this.
Deu 173 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

Have not seen those who disbelieved that the heavens and the earth were joined together and then We parted them and We have made from water every thing living will then not they believe and we have made or placed in the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with them and We placed therein broad highways that they may be guided. and We have made the heaven a roof safe and well guarded yet they from its signs turn away. and He it is Who has measured/determined the night and the day and the sun/ avericiouse and the moon/ deceivers each in persistence/persevering going rapidly. And not to any human being before you immortality then if you die then will they live forever. every one is going to taste death and we shall try you with evil and good as a temptation and to us you will be returned.

Then We withdraw it to Us a withdrawl gradual and it is He who makes night a covering and the calmness as a repose and makes the day a display.

And those who believe and do righteous deeds to them We shall surely give a place from Paradise lofty dwelling flows underneath it rivers to live forever therein excellent is the reward (of) the workers.those who are patient and in their lord they put their trust.and so many a living creature does not carry its own provision Allah provides for it and for you and He (is) the All-Hearer the All-Knower.and if you were to ask them who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected/ brought under domination/ controlled the avaricious(sun) and the deceiving(moon) they will surely reply Allah then how are they deviating .Allah enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves and straitens (it) for him verily Allah of everything (is) All-knower.

Hey mate, most of this meanings you posted are wrong as far as the Quran context is concerned and as far as I know the arabic word
SHAMSA means the Sun and nothing but the sun in the context of the Quran, in the common arabic langauage it also means 99% out of 100% as the sun, we also use it as a human name and it suppose to be a good name, we also call Umberella "Shamsia" and as you can see the name is derived from the Sun, as The Shamsia suppose to protect us from the sun
also sun bath called in arabic 'YA TA Sha Mas)
let me know if you would like to see verses with the arabic word Shamsa is used, the Quran is very high on mentioning the Sun "has to be and it was one of the great signs of our God exactly like the Moon), there is one sura called "Al Shamsa" and in arabic we don't prounuce the L after the A when the word "Shamsa" or iother words is mentioned, they call it Lam Shamsia

abraham initially took the sun as his lord.
and the sun sets in a pool of muddy water as well.but to me this is a fools world and people will believe in anything said; attatched to Allah or the prophet , but not me - as Allah said weight and consider , and do your own research.Thanks for the reply.
