Arranged marriages is the only way to get married here.
they don't exist here.
Marriage is a personal thing here, no parents would dare to interfere. They will give some advice of course and some opinion but from outside., the work is done before it is believed that it is impossible to choose someone who won't be accepted by the parents if the girl or the boy gets along with them, with the parents, because the preferences will be the same, the values, the likes and dislikes.
This has been the way for me, for my parents, for my grand parents, (for my great grand parents I don't know) and it will be the same for my children.
Besides, it is not ok here to think of marriage too soon after meeting the other person, it would be considered selfish and to get married without knowing the other person well would be considered a crazy thing.

Well, Sis Taj, it does exsist and thats what marriage should be all about. Its not just 'making children'. Marriage should be 'companionship for life bound by love and respect'
But I understand. Arranged marriage is the norm in most societies. Our families and society has not seen even a single love marriage. Thats why iArranged marriage is the sad reality. -

And to convince the whole society, is not an easy deal.The main reason ,I suppose, is they dont know better than what they have known. And they have not known 'love marriage'. I don't know what LOVE is PM even as a poet I continually struggle to understand what LOVE means. Everyone knows what LOVE is? I think not. See the diversity of views on the many LOVE THREADS that has been created. Everyone is trying to understand what LOVE means...and I do too all the time...
