"The purpose of this paper is to analyze using modern knowledge and objective standards what the effect of interest is on the economy. The motivation being Koranic verses which deal with interest and other verses in the Koran which give economic guidelines. A supplementary purpose served by this paper would be an objective testing of the Koran based on modern scientific knowledge, in the field of economics."
