Peace tay. There is a covenent in quran36;60-61,which deals with not serving shaytan(devil)but in serving serving god alone. There is also a verse( 7;172-173) which suggests we all state that god is our creator and guide(rabb) after being asked. So in effect we cannot state we were unaware of the need to serve him alone. This could relate to 57,where we agree to hear(understand) and obey.(follow gods laws). what do you think. Hope this helps,if god wills.

        peace Tay,

Have you read the article by brother Ayman about this issue? Its called "The Trust", you can read it here

        http//www.free-minds.org/articles/gods_system/thetrust.htm

        Wakas

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

          Peace Tay,

Based on the above ayat, what are your thoughts on what the covenant entails? Is it hinted here in 3372?

I believe the covenant you are looking for is the following

"And your Lord took for the children of Adam from their backs, their progeny; and He made them witness over themselves ?Am I not your Lord?? They said ?Yes, we bear witness.? Thus you cannot say on the Day of Resurrection that you were unaware of this. Nor can you Say ?It was our fathers who set up partners before and we were simply a progeny who came after them. Would You destroy us for what the innovators did?? It is such that We explain the revelations, perhaps they will revert." (The Message 7173-175)

              Peace Enquirer, Wakas,

              Peace Enquirer, you stated

There is a covenent in quran36;60-61,which deals with not serving shaytan(devil)but in serving serving god alone. There is also a verse( 7;172-173) which suggests we all state that god is our creator and guide(rabb) after being asked. So in effect we cannot state we were unaware of the need to serve him alone. This could relate to 57,where we agree to hear(understand) and obey.(follow gods laws). what do you think.

Thanks for the input bro. I agree with all that you stated, however, none of these instances address the timing of the covenant. Perhaps, in these instances, the covenant is an on-going process, as in, if you say you believe in God alone, then you gotta walk the walk. That circumvents the timing isuue completely. Hmmm

              Peace Wakas,
Thanks for the link. Ayman's article is excellent, but as he stated, it's brought about even more questions. I did find this particularly interesting

This may confirm that we have a dual nature, ?sensed/physical? and ?hidden?. In this world, the ?physical? side is apparent while the other side is hidden from us. Perhaps in heaven, it was the other way around, until eating from the tree made the ?physical? side apparent to Adam and spouse.
In the same way that when Iblis disobeyed the Lord?s command he became a jinn and lost touch with the "angel" side, when Adam and spouse ate from the tree they lost touch with the "hidden" side.

This makes sense, and would explain our inability to recall "accepting the trust" which the heavens, earth, and mountains would not.

But again, this begs the question, did we accept the trust as "one", or were there individual acceptances? This, then, opens up a whole pandora's box of questions.

              For starters
If the acceptance was individual, and there is no mention of any humans not accepting the trust, then the God created us knowing full well that we would accept the trust, which means we never really had a choice. Further, this acceptance is considered "transgressing, ignorant" in 3372, thus we were created as transgressing and ignorant.

If this acceptance was as "one", then there really is no individuality. It is an illusion, stroked by the ego (Iblis). Thus, the end times will not do away with the individuals(since there is no such thing) who had strayed from the straight path, but only deal with the ego itself, since the ego is not the self, and the self is one.

So, essentially, the day of judgement then only deals with doing away with Iblis.

I'm sorry if my thoughts are scattered.

              Peace,
              Tay

                Peace Layth,

As in the examples brought up by Enquirer, it seems this is an ongoing process. By believing in God alone, a consequential chain reaction of beliefs comes with it, including, of course, a day of reckoning. Please correct me if this is not your understanding of 7173-175

                Peace,
                Tay

Peace tay and all. we have been created with obedience to gods law(the fitrah),a baby obviously follows its instinct(fitrah), our obligation/bond/duty(deen)is not to change this natural state.( quran;3030) But maybe we are constantly being reminded of our duty(covenant/deen) by the signs in creation. Maybe someone can shed more light on this.

                    Peace all,

Have you ever looked at the sky for help from the god when all the doors were closed in your face? I think anybody in this world would come to be in such a situation where deep in his heart, he knows that nobody can help him but the all mighty.

I know that this is far streched as I don't know everybody on this earth, but from such an experience, everyone would have acknowledged the creator putting aside whatever religion he would have. Thus making a covenant with the god at that precise moment.

Such a situation is described in 1023-24 (PM translation)

He is the One who carries you on land and on the sea. And when you are on the ships and We drive them with a good wind which they rejoice with, a strong gust comes to it and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think that they are finished, they implore God with loyalty and devotion to His system "If You save us from this, we will be of the thankful."
But when He saves them, they then traverse through the land with injustice. "O mankind, what you seek out is only the luxury of this worldly life, then to Us is your return and We will inform you of all that you had done."

                      peace,

No, someone knowing something will happen does not mean there is no choice for that individual.

Further, this acceptance is considered "transgressing, ignorant" in 3372, thus we were created as transgressing and ignorant.

This comment is primarily in reference to the decision. The sign is in the past tense, thus "kana" would be "was", giving "truly he was thamoolan bahoolan". Unless someone can show otherwise.

Also, just because one accept's 'al amana' it doesn't mean they will fail in bearing it.

                      Wakas
