    Salaam All

It didn't take much for me at all to know that something wasn't right about hadiths. The very first time I heard of it, I questioned it asking if it was authorised by the Prophet (PBUH). Of course the answers were evasive but the bottom line was No. At that moment I became partial to what was presented. Although my belief in God never swayed. I held tight to the Quran and began to read it for the first time after 5 years. Instead of going by what I was told and/or shown. It was definately an eye opener!! At least I'm able to identify Islam from tradition and culture. However, there's much to learn, this is only the beginning. God willing we all will find the truth... There's two sides to a story and then there's the Truth.....

    Peace

              Peace Bren,

              Welcome.

Were you a convert to Traditional Islam?

I held tight to the Quran and began to read it for the first time after 5 years.

Did you have a reading/quran before this that you only kept somewhere to get to later?

              Joe

Sorry for the late reply....To answer your questions, yes I was a convert to traditional Islam ( Sunnism). I was given the Quran/reading translated by Yusif Ali. Every now and then I would read but for the most part I listened and observed. It was somewhat new to me. My background was Christianity.

                  Peace Bren,

Your reply was not late and there is not much of a late reply to be had .

Who did you observe and listen to in these years where you skimmed the reading?

                  Joe

I would visit various Mosques of different school of thoughts and hear what the sisters, brothers, imams, speakers etc.. taught and even did. I remember attending one Mosque where we the sisters were shield behind a room divider..Scarey...I'm looking for a Mosque to attend that doesn't promote any school of thought other than Quran. God Willing.

                    Peace...
