    SaLam Komla

Brother i dont beleive that is true. 40 or not, if a person commits sins, he/she will have to answer for them. I beleive it was Rashid Khalifa (www.submission.com) that said that anyone who dies before the age of 40 is sin free.

Absolutely non sense by R K and surely no proof whatsoever to support his funny claim

funny enough he is using two examples of a mass murderer who died over 40 and MalcolmX who died under 40 to prove his baseless claim

      peace

        Peace be upon you,

The reasoning give for the "40" is that people before 40 are like children. So this would mean that there should be an age where someone is too old, because the God says in this proclamation(quran) that he takes us from knowing nothing to stregth and back to grey hair and knowing nothing aqain. Old age is like childhood in the sense of "responsible".

This objectively defeats the "age of 40" concept presented by Rashad because we can WITNESS the childlike behavior of Old People.

          Salam All,
It has been scientifically proven that man acquires mental maturity at appx btw 39 and 40 years old, perhapos a perfect solar and lunar lap over. Please goto http//www.answering-christianity.com/mercy_of_allah.htm
Notice although that guy Osama Abdullah hates RK he still writes an article with scientific reaearch on the Quran's wisdom of giving the age of maturity at 40 and admits at least that GOD is more forgiving to those before that age then to those who have reached or are above that age. I perfectly agree with RK. GOD sets the age of maturity at 40 and thus according to GOD a person cannot be fully responsible before that age, thus it would be injust to throw him/her into hell before that age. GOD Bless!

              i quote from http//rationalreality.50webs.com/sci.htm

" The Koran mentions that a human being reaches full maturity at age forty (Koran 4615). This is a very unusual statement. Even today most people accept that full maturity is reached at puberty and laws usually put it between 18 to 21. However, the Koran is scientifically correct where even modern laws are inaccurate. If we analyze the statement based on psychological tests conducted by scientisits, what we find is that the "overall quantity of stored knowledge in the mind of an individual reaches a peak at age thirty-nine and after that it gradually declines." Arthur C. Guyton, in his standard textbook on physiology, Physiology of the Human Body( 6th ed, pg.207), states this. Guyton's book is used as a standard text in at many pre-medical schools around the world. "

                  Salaamun alaikum,

Nowhere does al-quraan say anything about 40 being the start of ACCOUNTABILITY though.

Allah will not call you to account for thoughtlessness in your oaths, but for whats your hearts have earned; and He is Oft-forgiving, Most Forbearing
                  (2/225)

So the heart is the pivotal point as to what is being judged or not. If a person knows in his heart something is wrong, but goes ahead anyway, then he will earn a wrong.

but i m not saying that anyone dying before 40 will go to heaven . since Quran doesnt say any such thing . also because u see in the quote above that the overall quantity of stored knowledge in the mind gradually declines after 40 . if we take the age of 40th year as the age of accontibility ,that would mean that anyone dying BEFORE or AFTER 40 will be going to heaven .

1141 He said "Climb inside, in the name of God shall be its sailing and its anchorage. My Lord is Forgiving, Merciful."

1142 And while it was running with them in waves like mountains, Noah called to HIS SON, who was in an isolated place "My son, ride with us, and do not be with the rejecters!"

1143 He said "I will take refuge to the mountain which will save me from the water." He said "There is no saviour from God's decree except to whom He grants mercy." And the wave came between them, so he was one of those who drowned.

1144 And it was said "O land, swallow your water, and O sky, cease." And the water was diminished, and the matter concluded. And it came to rest on the Judi, and it was said "Away with the wicked people."

1145 And Noah called on his Lord, and he said "My Lord, my SON is from my family, and your promise is the truth, and you are the Wisest of all Judges."

1146 He said "O Noah, he is not from your family, he was fathered illicitly, so do not ask what you have no knowledge of. I advise you not to be of the ignorant."

                              Peace be upon you,

We are going in the wrong direction.

The age of 40 being the age of strength is verified psychologically , assuming the person lives a healthy lifestyle.

The real debate is about if someone "goes to heaven" before 40 years of age. Again, the alleged criteria is that people before 40 are not responsible, but SENIOR CITIZENS are exactly the same way, so where is the MAXIMUM age of responsibility? This destroys the concept of "going to heaven" by Rashad.

Then historic people were unlucky! We are given like half of our life to go directly to heaven (lol) and they had a waaay less chance than us.

                                    What a pity.

JK- No theyr NOT FULLY responsible as their knowledge of the world has npt yet reached that ceratin level which GOD has set so it would be unfair if that person would go to hell BUT dont forget that paradise has DIFFERENT LEVELS/RANKS too. GOD Bless!

                                          salam jonny_k .
their knowledge of the world declines from that certain level AFTER the age of 40 also . so if a person dies after the age of 40 , say at 43, it would still be unfair if that person would go to hell . that means that only if he dies in the 40th year , he will go to hell .

thats one reason why this understanding is not correct .
