Also the arabic word "Wa Qa Fa" has two common meanings

    To Stand Up

    To Stop

If both meanings contexted in 1736, both meaning will be valid as a metaphor regarding arguing

as I stated, the above was my last comment regarding this subject, but it will be rude not to respond to a comment direct to me, well I reckon 1736 may apply to you

for your knowledge, Jiddal also means discusion it does not have to be an arguement

AB, the reason why we differ is what I call different 'etymological strategies' . I've had this problem with Anwar Goins (who has unparalelled scholarship in Arabic, in my experience) before he takes his meaning from the dictionaries straight to al-quraan without al-quraan playing an active role. I find that unacceptable.

Jidaal in al-quraan is used as follows
argue with them (jaadiluhum) in ways that are best and most gracious

so to me, 'jidaal' acquires meaning the more its used in the book. This is how I build my world-view of al-quraan.

        Hi AhmadBahgat,

Then you would translate the ayat as follows?

You shall not argue without knowledge. I have given you the hearing, the eyesight, and the brain, and you are responsible for using them.
        Right?

        Perfect bro, thanks

In your translation, u have 'argue' . Is there an arabic word meaning 'argue' present in that particular verse?

no there is not, but this is a common metaphor in the arabic world that represent arguing, I explained this before to Nadeem, this how the verse sounded to me BEFORE I READ THE TAFSIR BY 4 MAJOR ONES AND SURE THE MAJORITY WAS THE SAME, SO I FELT HAPPY AND CONFIDENT TO TAKE THAT MEANING

for me the highest on the list is "not to argue when you lack knowledge"

anyway, verse 1736 is clear as light that it means "DO NOT ARGUE WHEN YOU LACK KNOWLEDGE"

but what I'm 100% posutive about is 1736 means "DO NOT ARGUE WHEN YOU LACK KNOWLEDGE"

The word "argue" in Arabic doesn?t exist in 1736 and yet Ahmedbaghat insists that it is clear as light and 100% positive, defining it yet further as a metaphor. Go figure this one out. This is getting abnormally hilarious, especially when coming from a highly influenced Arabic linguistic, as he so confidently and vehemently professes. roll lol

And here is another case (emphasis in bold & underlined)

I've had this problem with Anwar Goins (who has unparalelled scholarship in Arabic, in my experience) before he takes his meaning from the dictionaries straight to al-quraan without al-quraan playing an active role. I find that unacceptable.

History and ah yes, NATURE has shown enough evidences amongst disgruntled yet highly skilled and influential linguists. I mean the fatwa driven professionals.

well don't take it as to argue then, how about

Do not stop at things that you lack knowledge in

now this advice is to you mister non arabic speaker

I challenge anyone to fault the above translation

This cannot be so because al-quraan has no word for nature. Nature doesn't offer anything in itself. It's Allah who sends down ayaat/signs in His Creation.

                              Hi everyone,

                              Brother AhmadBahgat,

Do not stop at things that you lack knowledge in

I can interpret that to mean "Do not dwell in things that you lack knowledge in."

Because "stopping at a thing" can mean - to me - to make it a "resting place", where you stop to dwell.

The case would be quite different if it said "Do not stop doing things you lack knowledge in". That would be unacceptable.

I hope You got what I meant. Both translations can be interpret the same way.

                              Nadeem.

                                Hi everyone,

                                Brother AhmadBahgat,

Do not stop at things that you lack knowledge in

                                sounds reasonable to me bro

The case would be quite different if it said "Do not stop doing things you lack knowledge in". That would be unacceptable.

sure but I did not include the words "doing things"

i meant "do not stop at things in which you lack knowledge"

or do not stand at things in which you lack knoweldge"

both are accpetable and in the arabic world it is a known metaphor for arguing without having the knowledge, what is wrong with that?

I hope You got what I meant. Both translations can be interpret the same way.

ABi meant "do not stop at things in which you lack knowledge"

To me, this doesnt make any sense because 17/36 ends by saying all things will be questioned. If God's telling you not to stop, why would he tell you that'd it would be questioned at all.

Saying 'do not follow' makes sense because you commit yourself to anything you follow and therefore, you should be questioned for it.

                                    Do not speak without Knowledge

Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn Abbas said "This means) do not say (anything of which you have no knowledge).'' Al-Awfi said "Do not accuse anyone of that of which you have no knowledge.'' Muhammad bin Al-Hanafiyyah said "It means bearing false witness.'' Qatadah said "Do not say, I have seen', when you did not see anything, or I have heard', when you did not hear anything, or I know', when you do not know, for Allah will ask you about all of that.'' In conclusion, what they said means that Allah forbids speaking without knowledge and only on the basis of suspicion, which is mere imagination and illusions.

I must confess that while the java and music effects were awesome, the entire message, epiloque and moral quandary of the video gives a negative image portrayed towards the Arab Religion, which is what it is. In effect, islam (system of GOD) calls for peace, reason and righteousness; not sending out messages for war, hatred, resentment, killing, displaying evil characters and so forth wrapped in a flowery discourse. Very typical of you.

Thanks it was my first flash movie BTW it was done on april and since then I have done about 300 movies lol

and what is the arab religion?

In effect, islam (system of GOD) calls for peace, reason and righteousness; not sending out messages for war, hatred, resentment, killing, displaying evil characters and so forth wrapped in a flowery discourse. Very typical of you.

Haha, read the Quran again if you can, anyone on earth regardless who he/she is, if they will act in opposition to Islam by promoting documented lies, fabrictaions, hatred and violence agains Islam, Muslims, Mohammad and the Quran, they must be dealt with according to the Quran

verbal harm to the religion = verbal defence "even if in public"

physical harm = physical defence "even if it will be murder"

that is what the Quran says not me, however it makes great sense to me

now try to be a real muslim following the Quran before you too promote unfounded lies about the Quran

the Quran only promotes peace with the enemy of God if they stop their aggression and seek peace, they are the perpetrators not me, and it is my duty to stand firm, never grief in front of the enemies of my religion who do not want peace from the first place, believers have the upper hand according to the Quran

I advice you to read the Quran, it seems you have not read it

                                          Hey Danish

Let me prove to you that you are wrong, you see my message was strong tough and dirty in response to their consistant dirt, those 7 were respected for weeks and I tried to dialogue with them until proven beyond doubt that they are facilitating the net to spread documented crap about Islam, Muslims, Mohammad and the Quran, on a daily basis zillions of posts attacking Islam were posted.

For months I kept the pressure consistant on them untill they were demolished

                                          Starjade, left

                                          Piscohot, hardly comes now

                                          Lion, hardly seen

Rotaiva, left and came back under another name and left again

Iris, only talks about christianity now, she can't dare to promote lies again about Mohammad, she posts freely on my forum every day promoting christianity and I have no problem with that, only if she starts lying about Islam, she must be stopped according to the Quran.

Pride of England, left then came under another name then left again

                                          Mughal, left and forgotten

No question I succeeded in stopping the crap about Islam on an anti islam forum, in fact that forum has the full Quran online as well, which was added after respect to Islam and the Quran was gained by many non muslims including the devote christian site owner, in addition I was offered an Islamic forum on an anti Islam forum, and i consider this great achievment

See, I achieved my objective and now you will hardly see any post on that web site talking ill about Islam, Muslims, Mohammad or the Quran

I careless that I was dirty, because I was dealing with more dirtier humans from the first place and I won over all of them with the help of Allah, He knows for certain why I have to resort to these effective methods

I'm not a typical muslim, sorry, for you, you may choose the way you want to be as I did

                                          Thanks
