AB, the reason why we differ is what I call different 'etymological strategies' . I've had this problem with Anwar Goins (who has unparalelled scholarship in Arabic, in my experience) before he takes his meaning from the dictionaries straight to al-quraan without al-quraan playing an active role. I find that unacceptable.
Jidaal in al-quraan is used as follows
argue with them (jaadiluhum) in ways that are best and most graciousso to me, 'jidaal' acquires meaning the more its used in the book. This is how I build my world-view of al-quraan.

no there is not, but this is a common metaphor in the arabic world that represent arguing, I explained this before to Nadeem, this how the verse sounded to me BEFORE I READ THE TAFSIR BY 4 MAJOR ONES AND SURE THE MAJORITY WAS THE SAME, SO I FELT HAPPY AND CONFIDENT TO TAKE THAT MEANING
for me the highest on the list is "not to argue when you lack knowledge"
anyway, verse 1736 is clear as light that it means "DO NOT ARGUE WHEN YOU LACK KNOWLEDGE"
but what I'm 100% posutive about is 1736 means "DO NOT ARGUE WHEN YOU LACK KNOWLEDGE"

This cannot be so because al-quraan has no word for nature. Nature doesn't offer anything in itself. It's Allah who sends down ayaat/signs in His Creation.

both are accpetable and in the arabic world it is a known metaphor for arguing without having the knowledge, what is wrong with that?

To me, this doesnt make any sense because 17/36 ends by saying all things will be questioned. If God's telling you not to stop, why would he tell you that'd it would be questioned at all.
Saying 'do not follow' makes sense because you commit yourself to anything you follow and therefore, you should be questioned for it.

Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that IbnAbbas said "This means) do not say (anything of which you have no knowledge).'' Al-Awfi said "Do not accuse anyone of that of which you have no knowledge.'' Muhammad bin Al-Hanafiyyah said "It means bearing false witness.'' Qatadah said "Do not say,I have seen', when you did not see anything, orI have heard', when you did not hear anything, orI know', when you do not know, for Allah will ask you about all of that.'' In conclusion, what they said means that Allah forbids speaking without knowledge and only on the basis of suspicion, which is mere imagination and illusions.Taken from

I must confess that while the java and music effects were awesome, the entire message, epiloque and moral quandary of the video gives a negative image portrayed towards the Arab Religion, which is what it is. In effect, islam (system of GOD) calls for peace, reason and righteousness; not sending out messages for war, hatred, resentment, killing, displaying evil characters and so forth wrapped in a flowery discourse. physical harm = physical defence "even if it will be murder"
that is what the Quran says not me, however it makes great sense to me
now try to be a real muslim following the Quran before you too promote unfounded lies about the Quran
the Quran only promotes peace with the enemy of God if they stop their aggression and seek peace, they are the perpetrators not me, and it is my duty to stand firm, never grief in front of the enemies of my religion who do not want peace from the first place, believers have the upper hand according to the Quran

Iris, only talks about christianity now, she can't dare to promote lies again about Mohammad, she posts freely on my forum every day promoting christianity and I have no problem with that, only if she starts lying about Islam, she must be stopped according to the Quran.

No question I succeeded in stopping the crap about Islam on an anti islam forum, in fact that forum has the full Quran online as well, which was added after respect to Islam and the Quran was gained by many non muslims including the devote christian site owner, in addition I was offered an Islamic forum on an anti Islam forum, and i consider this great achievment
See, I achieved my objective and now you will hardly see any post on that web site talking ill about Islam, Muslims, Mohammad or the Quran
I careless that I was dirty, because I was dealing with more dirtier humans from the first place and I won over all of them with the help of Allah, He knows for certain why I have to resort to these effective methods

There have always been people who mocked Quran, Islam, Allah since the time of Prophet Mohammed.
Where does Quran tell believers to verbally or physically abuse those, who mock Quran and Allah's signs?
These are specific verses where Allah tells us to ignore them.
Allah will punish those who mock, on the day of Judgement.2563 And the servants of ((Allah)) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!";
2855 And when they hear vain talk, they turn away therefrom and say "To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you we seek not the ignorant."
668 When thou seest men engaged in vain discourse about Our signs, turn away from them unless they turn to a different theme. If Satan ever makes thee forget, then after recollection, sit not thou in the company of those who do wrong.
4140 Already has He sent you Word in the Book, that when ye hear the signs of Allah held in defiance and ridicule, ye are not to sit with them unless they turn to a different theme if ye did, ye would be like them. For Allah will collect the hypocrites and those who defy faith - all in Hell
And here are some more verses telling believers to be righteous, patient and to exercise self control
3134 Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men;- for Allah loves those who do good;-
4134 Nor can goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better Then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate!
4135 And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,- none but persons of the greatest good fortune.
317 Those who show patience, Firmness and self-control; who are true (in word and deed); who worship devoutly; who spend (in the way of Allah.; and who pray for forgiveness in the early hours of the morning.
