    Hi everyone,

    3179
And let not those who reject think that We are providing for them out of the goodness of themselves. We are only providing for them so that they may increase in transgression, and they will have a humiliating retribution.

Can someone please explain the part in bold?

Why would god provide for someone to get more evil?

    Nadeem.

            peace,

To me, it is saying God is a provider of the means, how you utilise the means is up to you... could be for good or bad. If you're doing bad, then its likely you'll continue to use this means for bad.

            Wakas

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

              Peace

It is only part of the sunnah/method of God. In another context it may be given to the believer who may turn to materialism, or to a believer who will spend in the cause of God. The rich are not necessarily blessed because of their resources.

                Hi everyone,

Thanks for the comments, really appreciate it -)

So we can sum it up like the old proverb

God sends rain on* the both the believers, as well on the disbelievers. wink

                Nadeem.

*What's more correct on, unto, upon, to?

Stronger yet, Allah will actually lead you astray as long as you fail to spend in His Cause.

Numl Lahum LIyazdd 'Ithman We grant them THAT they may increase thier ithm/degeneration...

Agreed. Depends on what they do with it. Those who fail to spend are termed as 'al-kafireen' and 'az-zalimeen' (2/254)

i think that it means we shouldn't look at someone and say "he has sooo much money, he has a perfect life drool " and follow whatever they're doing because their wealth could just be there because God wants them to suffer.
So basically, material wealth, or any kind of wealth for that matter, doesnt reflect that person's righteousness or piety.

                      Hello brother Nadeem

This verse actually rimes with the context ?Allah misguides whoever wants to be misguided" and those kafara wants to be misguided because they rejected Allah message.

So those ?Kafarah? ?Infidels?, when the good happens to them, they think it is because they are good people, hence they will insist on their path and that is exactly what this verse means, Allah is refuting their flawed thoughts which is, because they are given good life it means for them that they are good people and will prosper at the end, while the truth is quite the contrary they are the real losers

?And let not those who disbelieve think that Our granting them respite is better for their souls; We grant them respite only that they may add to their sins; and they shall have a disgraceful chastisement.?

                      (17

-> As we have seen in 3178 , Allah told us this fact about the unbelievers as a general statement ?not directed to anyone? refuting their delusion that they are good people and will prosper but the fact does not stop here because the believers may also wonder why God is giving a good life to those infidels and as you can see the message above was not directed to the believers to answer their wonder.

While the above verse is enough of an answer to the believers yet Allah said the same in another location and was directed to Mohammad, ironically it is in the same sura, let?s have a look

196-?Let it not deceive you that those who disbelieve go to and fro in the cities fearlessly.?

197- ?A brief enjoyment! then their abode is hell, and evil is the resting-place?

                      (196)
                      (197)

-> Can you see bro how the Quran repeated the same message with different words and a warning to us?

Well, this warning to the believers was repeated again

?None dispute concerning the communications of Allah but those who disbelieve, therefore let not their going to and fro in the cities deceive you.?

                      (4)

The fact that Allah is giving those infidels respite until they die was repeated again in another location, in here we will see that they are just been tricked

182- ?And (as to) those who reject Our communications, We draw them near (to destruction) by degrees from whence they know not.?

183- ?And I grant them respite; surely My scheme is effective.?

                      (182)
                      (183)

Look bro how the Quran repeated the message with slight change in letters and words below

44- ?So leave Me and him who rejects this announcement; We will overtake them by degrees, from whence they perceive not?

45- ?And I grant them respite; surely My scheme is effective.?

                      (44)
                      (45)

Allah also told us that His scheme applied on all towns which He gave respite while it was unjust

?And how many a town to which I gave respite while it was unjust, then I overtook it, and to Me is the return.?

                      (4

A few real examples were given

?As well as those of Madyan and Musa (too) was rejected, but I gave respite to the unbelievers, then did I overtake them, so how (severe) was My disapproval.?

                      (44)

                      Peace be with you bro
