whats your criteria of choosing your version of history over the sunni version of history?

Question 2 in this first house in bakka, you will find 'maqaam ibrahim'. have you been inside this house?

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

I think Hajj can be anywere, it can also be on the internet. Haj is not a ritual, I think.

How can the Hajj be on the net? Have a read chapter 22, verse 26 onwards. Al-hajj happens in the real world.

Elke just to say that the net is part of the real world of today

I take the word 'real' to mean 'bil haqq'. Allah created the heavens and the earth 'bil haqq'. This is my reality. The internet can access the dimension of talk but not the 'real' world.

If I were to rephrase, I would say 'al-hajj happens in the physical world'. Perhaps that's more suitable.

Peace all. I view hajj as meaning 'discussion'. The true discussion is an attempt to come to truth or reality, and overturn illusion or falsehood.
Marlboro;i agree, the hajj and salat are within your heart, when your heart connects with reality you can know what these processes should achieve.(universal love,tolerance,open-mindedness and wisdom.)
                Peace all.

"Blessed is the man whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the ways of them, who passing through the valley of Baca,
make it a well; the rain also fills the pools. They go from strength to strength?every one of them in Zion appears before God." Psalm 845-7

                  Compare with Quran

                  396-97
The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings

In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah,-
those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures.

those who can afford the journey

those who can afford the journey

i would like to see more quran quoting and less personal opinions, this is not right,we have to let allah guide us not ourselfs.
the holy city, that we suppost to make hajj in quran,is makkah ofcourse, thats why mohamed(pbuh) libareted it from idolatry, and now.its the house of allah! in isaiah in the bible,it says, a saint from paran will be followed by 10000 saints and will come to your house from mount paran and will bow down to you.
thats the taking of makkah,no doubt.
inshallah im going to get the proof later on.

                      Respectfully.

Yes, i agree, the Mecca is a city, an acutal city.
                      Muhammad liberated a city.

                      As salamu alaykum.

The Hajj is to Holy Sanctuaries that we build in the name of God for them to be central points of the Quranic community. The location doesn't matter, as long as they are built in the name of God. We are to tak the example of Abraham in this. As for when. I have a hunch for 3 months during winter and spring. Meanings starting from the winter solstice and lasting for 3 months. I think that surah 106 will be the proof for this decision once I find a suitable alternative translation for quraish, which can be the Quraish but which should also have a more universal meaning. It is is the duminutive of qarash or qarsh.

                        Godbless,
                        Anwar
