lil intro
-
Asalamu alaikum
Well I thought I'd give a lil intro though I wouldn't say I came to God alone...I mean I believe in the Quran and I am a muslim alhamdulillah. To me it makes sense to follow the Quran alone, though sometimes I think there is some truth in some hadiths.
Thing is I don't know enough about hadiths to rid them out and say it is falsehood. I don't know how you follow God alone to say that is absolutely right. To my understanding it's how one interprets the Quran but I'm not sure, it's something I guess I'd have to discover so here I am...
I stumbled through this site via chatting on irc with someone, telling me "learn the truth" anyway so I decided to become a member. I've read a few posts though I'm still getting used to this forum format.
Ummm well my name is pretty obvious I think I'll be 19 next month. I'm studying childcare and I'm living in Australia I come from a Lebanese background so I understand arabic too
I guess thats about it Thanks for this opportunity
Take care,

My salaam sis.i'm 20,and i come from a christian family.I embrassed islam a year ago,i was a sunni, than became a shia, then a salafi(wahabi),and now i can say that the word of God is enough for me.I personnally reject all ahadis(bukary,muslim....etc),to follow the best ahadis(Quran),my life has been better since i don't need no supersticious belief,i've been looking for the truth, and i'm still searching. So it's time for each one of us to be our own scholars.Welcome.My salaam to you.

I think there is some truth in some hadiths.
I agree there may be truth in other stories. If you check on some of the posts of Kyle (idolfree1) you will see him showing truths in old Egyptians stories. The reading alone does not contain all truths.
I don't know how you follow God alone to say that is absolutely right.
I believe the crux of the stance is that God is the judge/law-giver .
Welcome to the forum.

Salam Sarah
Great to have you join us, I will look forward to your posts on this forum even though i haven't been posting much lately myself but i do come on to read what others have to say. So you are 19, is that 19 and married or 19 and unmarried, i'm just curios how you got away with being 19 without all your family ganging up on you like a mob trying to get you married.
I assume you are from a sunni background , so am i , and i came here just as you did trying to find answers to things i had heard and was taught by friends, families and mullas. I did my best to be like them and to be the way they wanted me to be but i found that i was always unhappy. I had too many questions that needed answering and everytime i tried to ask one i felt as if i was infront of a judge and jury and someone might stick a fatwa on me. Its the same with thousands of other young muslims who aren't allowed to question theyr'e religion. When i used to ask questions i always got told that the devil makes me say these things because i don't pray. So i stopped asking and started wondering. I thank Allah for the internet that allows us to seek answers to our questions without us being prosecuted by our families.
The first time i ever asked my elders why there were so many lies in the hadith , they almost disowned me and started cursing me for having Christian friends. They thought that i was being influenced by them.So if Allah has guided you to us then stay with us and learn with us and soon you will become part of us. If you need to ask something please feel free to do so without feeling embarrassed or reluctant. This is why you are here , to learn and maybe teach us a thing or two aswell.
Just one piece of advice , we have had a lot of horny teenagers flocking in lately grouphug , just be warned about them. They ask alot of questions and can brainwash some of us older members into thinking the are just innocents. shock
Phoenix and noprogressive are their leaders i think. yessir -
Komla Thanks for the welcome ) Good luck with the search
I come from a Sunni family, I saw some truth in Shiasm that I didn't see in the Sunni belief and now I'm just a path seeker, on a journey just like many.
Thanks Joe ) You're absolutely right "I believe the crux of the stance is that God is the judge/law-giver ." Though hadiths don't have to necessarily give laws.
hmm other stories may have truth in them also though I think the main issue is the hadiths, but I get where you're coming from
Thanks for the Advice Tahira no worries I should be fine ) and it's 19, not married. The secret is hardly anyone knows I exist
I think its normal that they gang up expecting you to go for someone or whatever but if you're not for it then just be stubborn It all depends on your family and expectations but its not to hard to turn your back to whoever they serve.
So whenever you question they'd reply the devil made you say those things.. hmm well some people have the view "you shouldn't question anything" "you don't want to be like the jews who were on the search for the cow" all they needed was a cow but they kept questioning as far as I know it made it harder for them.
Anyway it's good to question it leaves your heart at ease when you find the right answer even the wrong answer it shows the truth I guess. I think the real truth is that, like many parents they don't want you questioning because you "may" deviate from their beliefs. This deviation goes agaisnt them which no parent wants and also may cause shame to the family... to their beliefs anyway. But inshallah kheir (God willing may things be good)
Thanks for the welcoming again I look forward to posting and reading and learning

Salaam Sarah!!
Look forward to your posts. Only advice I guess I can give you at the stage you are is just take everything on board and follow the best path and just keep asking questions and studying the Quran yourself.
Just one piece of advice , we have had a lot of horny teenagers flocking in lately grouphug , just be warned about them. They ask alot of questions and can brainwash some of us older members into thinking the are just innocents. shock
Phoenix and noprogressive are their leaders i think. yessirTahira is just exaggerating here by the way, she just sees what she wants to see lol jus messin!!

Hello and asalaamu alaikum!
I'm a Muslimah living in the USA. I just joined this forum and thought I would reply to your "lil intro."
I didn't grow up in a Muslim household, but came to Islaam in 2002. I was instructed on prayers, pillars, Qur'aan, Sunnah, and Ahadith by a "Salaafi" which I later found out is a term equaling "Wahabi", which if course THEY don't call themselves, but that's what they are. When I was under tutelege I adopted many customs and mannerisms that were completely foreign to me, and was told that all Muslims are the same. I wore abaya, hijaab, niqaab, gloves, etc., stopped listening to music, read the ahadith and adopted it's suggestions. My family and husband all went crazy, especially my husband when we would go out and I would be fully veiled. After 6 months of this behavior, I decided to "leave Islaam." When I told my Muslimah sister that, she immediately cut off all communication with me, and our Muslimah sisters did the same. She never talked to me again, which made me very sad, as I had come to know and love her, admiring her devotion. Reflecting back on the whole thing, I believe she was very misguided by the ahadith, but was doing what she thought Allaah wanted of her.
That was my formal break with Islaam, but let me testify, Islaam NEVER left my heart. I wandered around spiritually lost for about a year and a half, then finally came to some sort of peace inside. However, I longed for salaat and submission.
Only recently have I been surfing the net and came across a progressive Muslims website, and learned that there are Muslims who follow the Qur'aan alone, and leave off the customs and traditions of the ahadith. One thing led to another and I found this site. I am very glad to be here.
I've written more than I intended, so I'll stop for now. Peace to you, sister!
