i like this site very much.

I have seen ppl here quoting themselves Quran alone, God alone.

I hv heard many ppl not from this forum saying, freeminds.org ppl call themselves Quran alone, God alone. new sect!!!

Cant folks on this forum be just what they are, instead of titleing themselves as quran alone, god alone. they are most welcome to be Muslims if they want.

i think ruling body of this forum should take somesteps to stop this.

    your comments!

        Hi Marlboro,

i like this site very much.

I suppose some mention they are 'God alone' muslims becoz they are trying to imply that they are neither shia, sunni or any other sect. Coz when u say u r a muslim, u normally are assumed to be either a shia or sunni. And since many believers here, dont identify with traditional islamic practices of the shia/sunni, they prefer to be recognised as muslims(as in believers of God) or say, God alone muslims. In my opinion, it's not a sect. Just a bunch of people thinking straight and daring to do so.

Coz if u say, u reject hadeeth, u are likely to be labelled as kafirs by the larger muslim world. So, its not really important what others label us or how we label ourselves, but what is really important is what we believe in. And in that sense, yeah, we are muslims, and just plain and simple muslims.

i think ruling body of this forum should take somesteps to stop this.

If someone here even wants to form or be a part of a sect, its their decission, isnt it?
Its one's personal choice. Who are we to tell anyone what to believe or what to do? So, its upto each individual to be who they want to be.

To my best knowledge, This site or forum doesnt promote any such thing, though. And people of all beliefs and faiths are welcome here for dicussions.

        Peace!

            Peace,
            Respectfully.

We already call ourselves Muslims/Submitters and that's fine because w efind the evidence from The Quran. Messenger/prophet Ibraheem/Abraham was the first user of this word so i believe i'm right.
            If i'm wrong, correct me.

            God bless you.
            Peace.

                  Dear Alan,

First let me clarify an important point in Arabic, naming is descriptive and islam and muslim are descriptive titles

The pronoun HE in "He named you muslims before and in this.." (227 is unfortunately incorrectly referred to Abraham, rather than God. Briefly, here are three of my supporting reasons

                  1. If Islam is God's system then the name of the system should be coined by the originator of the system not Abraham.
                  2. There were muslims (that is, peacemakers and peacefully submitters to God alone) before Abraham.
                  3. Verse 2278 has the words "wa fi haza" (and in this) which is either referring to the Quran or in the present time. God is more appropriate reference.

                  Peace,
                  Edip

You can also add prior prophets to Abraham used "muslimeen" (of course, they would have used the equivalent in their language), e.g. Noah, 1072

"muslim", "islam" etc. are ordinary descriptive Arabic words. Now that they have become religious-ified, only then have they taken on special meaningless titles.
