Need help! I have been debating with some people about the deaths in Mecca. They say that its Qadar Allah. They were determined to die there.

This brings back the thought about Allah/God knowing the future and the knowledge of the time of ones death (according to my understanding of the Quran). Sometimes I ask myself whether If God has determined the hour of death, than how can be account the murder/killing etc?

So does God know the future ?

salaam bmbm and all. If everything was known and predestined by one being(god) then human will and responsibility means nothing. How then, if a single being(god) can do everything and know everything can little children suffer and die at the hands of murderers. why does not this single being(god) save them?

need more comment? Anything to say on this people?

          Peace

My opinion is very simplified, I never complicate things indeed, I believe that it just happened to be that all these people share the extact time of death according to a Book that Allah have up there

Now if these people are scattered on earth and they all die naturally at once it will be unnoticed, but because they were all in the same location it will look stranage that 350 die all of a sudden without a cause, like we see 350 people just drop dead, if one or two it may be accepted, but for 350 at once, it is going to be puzzling unless a cause with put down by Allah to cause all these people to die at once and still look like an accident to the others.

Same when a group of people die in a plane crash and so on

Regarding the children who die before they had no mature life, was simply respnded to in the Quran, Allah said that this is what He planned, some die young, some die old, and some die really old that they even loose all their memory when they reach that very old age

In effect those children were really saved from a very tough test (this life) and what will happen to them is only known to Allah, but we know that they can't be held accountable

          Allah knows best

I have read and am still looking into the thoery that we all have three possible times of death. Depending on your choices, you can kind of cheat or skate past the first two but the third is undeniable

              Salaams all,

I doubt if anybody knows the future - if you are making an automobile which if you knew isn't going to work , what would be the point of making it?or anything.Doesn't each soul do things with the hope of a positive outcome ,but not knowing the future sometimes you are wrong.

HOWEVER you know what will be done to it if the automobile didn't work!

Peace all. If nothing has freewill except one being(god) then we cannot do anything. If everything but one being (god) has no free-will then only one being(god) is responsible for everything.(including evil and chaos.) This is a problem which has been with believers in one divine free being(god) forever. And i feel many people have not solved this contradiction.
I feel that through experience of life and reflection(including my thoughts and the thoughts of others)i have come to an understanding i am satisfied with.
I believe that every being has freewill, and nobody or nothing can destroy this will. The devils mistake is to think that a being called god has sent him astray and that he has no power to resist or use his freewill to get back on the straight path. This illusion makes him feel he has no influence, that only a being called god has influence, when in reality the devil has been a factor in evil through his own will. Do any of us deny the devils role and reality in evil in the world? However the devils do not have control of everything because there are other beings with freewill. These beings are aware of the fact that everything has freewill(which cannot be destroyed) and they also recognise that no one being has the power to destroy anothers freewill. The illusion comes in if there is one all-powerful dominating will which negates everyone elses will. (one god)
A solution can come if every being has freewill over itself, but not over anything else. One beings influence over another can only come if that being wants it too.(and even then it is only a partial influence in reality.) The devil wants a being(god)to control him and so the devil is under the illusion he has no will, when in fact he does.(otherwise how does he do any evil) The beings who follow thier wills know that they are secure as long as they recognise they have a will which cannot in reality be destroyed by anything, whilst also acknowledging they are one of an ongoing number of indesructable wills.(with partial influence on others) If they were to deny their wills, and elevate someone elses will(eg one god) then they would become insecure.(like the devils) note;i am using the word devil in the sense of one being confused-not to be mischievious. Thoughts?

                  Hi all,

Need help! I have been debating with some people about the deaths in Mecca. They say that its Qadar Allah. They were determined to die there.

Deaths caused by man made errors cannot be blamed on Allah.
The deaths that happen during Haj is because of bad management/ administation and humans are responsible for this, and not God. Just like man is responsible for death caused by a suicide or homicide or accidents etc.

This brings back the thought about Allah/God knowing the future and the knowledge of the time of ones death (according to my understanding of the Quran). Sometimes I ask myself whether If God has determined the hour of death, than how can be account the murder/killing etc?
So does God know the future ?

I believe God does know the future. And we all have stipulated time on earth. But humans, by their own doing are quite capable of reducing their God gifted lifetime on earth by causing harm to themself and others such as by drinking alcohol, by smoking, by committing suicide, by being irresponsible on road leading to accidents, building faulty buildings etc.
So, I think in such cases, man further brings down his lifetime, that Allah has wished for him.

                  Peace!

I agree with you PM, the bad tiings are from us and the good things are from Allah, this is what the Quran says, in fact it also says that Allah interfer to stop many of the bad things we do on earth, and if He doesn't the earth would have been history ages ago

I only meant that Mashiaa "will" Allah allowed this to happen, and He knew in advance that it will happen because the age of each one of us is already recorded in a book

For example imagine I want to kill someone, I ambushed him and I shot him in the head then I ran away

while my will was to kill that person as well the logic says he should die because he was shot in the head, the perosn may not die at all because his time of death didnlt arrive yet, it can even happen in a way that my plan is spoiled before I shot him,

In effect what humans plan to do can't happen unless Allah allow it to happen (even accidents), there is a verse in the Quran that clearly states this

                    peace

                      Hi Ahmedbahgat,

I agree with you PM, the bad tiings are from us and the good things are from Allah, this is what the Quran says, in fact it also says that Allah interfer to stop many of the bad things we do on earth, and if He doesn't the earth would have been history ages ago

I think, Allah has decided for a stipulated period for each one of us. But becoz of man made errors and faults, this can get reduced unless Allah decides to intervene. For eg, if u maintain a healthy lifestyle, u r likely to live as long as Allah has destined for u. But if u binge drink all the time, u r inviting death urself. Allah did not decide that for u. U decided for urself.

If u stabbed someone or tried killing someone, then the chances are he might or might not die. If Allah doesnt intervene, he is likely to die.The guy's death doesnt mean that he was destined to be killed at that age. Allah might have destined a longer period for him to live, but becoz of man's errors, the guy's lifetime is reduced, unless Allah intervenes and decides to change the course and cause him to live. Allah can do anything, if He wishes.

In effect what humans plan to do can't happen unless Allah allow it to happen (even accidents), there is a verse in the Quran that clearly states this

In a sense u r right. But the truth is also that its Allah's decission to grant man a free will, and control over certain things. Its man's responsibility to take care of all that he is blessed with.
So, what a man plans can happen, unless Allah decides to intervene and change the obvious course.

Accidents can happen and do happen becoz of Man's faults and not becoz Allah causes them. Man causes them to happen. And it is likely to happen unless Allah decides to intervene and change the course of events.

We all have a huge responsibility in our lives. To be sincere and responsible with all the good that we are blessed with and not cause mischief on earth. If we abuse our freewill, there will be consequences.

So, the deaths due to stampede in saudi have occured not becoz Allah planned for it to happen but its the price those people had to pay becoz of bad management and inefficiency by the saudi government.

                      Peace!

                        Peace sister

I agree that the Saudi Government is responsible for the safety of those who died, however I totally believe those who died on that day must die on that day because it is what Allah planned for them, they certainly didn't die short of what they suppose to live, they must die on that day regardlless of the cause, if the death is caused by another human delibertly of ignornatly I guess Allah will be the best one to Judge here but those who died in a group must be dead on that day, this is what the Quran says not me

                        Peace

                          Hi Ahmed Bahgat,

Say, a young boy 0f 15 starts binge drinking alcohol and does so for another 10-15 yrs, and finally dies becoz of the extensive liver damage caused by the alcohol intake. R u saying he would have died at 30 by some other cause, even if he lead a healthy life style, becoz he was destined to die at 30? I disagree, coz I believe, he invited his own death, by his own actions. He could have lived longer(which Allah had stipulated for him)

Similary, say a young teenager commits suicide, out of depression over some school exam at a age of 15. R u saying thats the period Allah had planned for him? That if he had not committed suicide at 15, he would have died at 15 by one or the other way. I disagree, coz I believe if this kid had not committed this foolish mistake, he would have lived to the period, Allah had wished for him. Instead he committed suicide, and shortened his lifetime.

Allah knows everything. Its like Allah gives u a chance. If u throw it away, its ur loss and ur decission. Allah is watching u. Allah can intervene and change the course of events if He wants to save u, with His abundant mercy and forgiveness. Or He can will to just let it happen. So, the final call is His. But these things are caused by man, and can be avoided if man lived in a responsible manner, with all that Allah has blessed us with.

If we live responsibly without doing major mischief, we r likely to live up until the period Allah has decided for us. for eg, say according to Allah's predecission, X could live upto 65 yrs. Now if this X did something foolish(drinking, drunk driving etc), its possible for him to die sooner than 65 yrs. But if he lived normally, he would live upto 65 yrs. But he cant live for longer than 65, no matter how much he tries, coz 65 yrs is the maximum lifetime, Allah has decided for him.

This is why Allah tells us not to do mischief on earth, not to murder, not to commit suicide, not to drink etc....coz if we do, there are consequences to pay. This is the free will, man has been gifted with. Allah has set its boundaries, but if man abuses his free will instead of using it, he brings his own downfall.

                          This is what I believe.

                          Peace!

                            Hi Ahmed Bahgat,

                            Peace sister

Say, a young boy 0f 15 starts binge drinking alcohol and does so for another 10-15 yrs, and finally dies becoz of the extensive liver damage caused by the alcohol intake. absolutely, and I believe the Quran proves as such

I disagree, coz I believe, he invited his own death, by his own actions.

that is a totally different issue really, death is not a punishment by Allah to be honest, and I consider it nothing but "Game Over", death is something that is written in a book up there and for everyone it is known in advance by Allah how many years each will live, I guess the Quran suggest as such.

the important point is whatever actions he/she did and is a violation to the Quran Laws he/she must pay account and be held responsible (I'm talking believers here),

same case withy suicide, Allah knew that this perosn will kill the self on that day however if that person didn't and must die on that day then he must die on that day by some other way

Quran tells us when death comes, it can't be delayed an hour neither postponed an hour

He could have lived longer(which Allah had stipulated for him)

Then it was written in a book that this would have happened if that person stayed healthy and didn't drink alcohol, and sure Allah knew this in advance

Similary, say a young teenager commits suicide, out of depression over some school exam at a age of 15. R u saying thats the period Allah had planned for him? I'm sorry sister we are not the ones who control when we die or how long we live, I agree it looks this way, but according to the Quran it is not the case for sure, how the humans interfer and how they will be held responsible that is something for Allah to judge not me really, but I will try to find the verses from the Quran reagrding the fixed term of life

I follow the Quran sister not my feelings

Allah knows everything. Its like Allah gives u a chance. If u throw it away, its ur loss and ur decission.

sure, and btw I tried to commit suicide at the age of 19 and took 201 sleeping tablets in 48 hours then stayed 3 days in intensive care with heart beat going beyond the max scale, somehow I lived because it was not my time to die

also my 14 years old daughter was snatched from my hand in the ocean bya freak wave when she was about 3 years old and somehow found here floating in the ocean 10 meters away from me and nothing was wrong with her after she stayed under water in a freak conditions far more than a minute and yet she lived, see, it was not her time to die

I know people who fell from the 2nd floor and died while others who fell from the 6 floor and made it

I also know many who were shot in the head and lived and others who were punched in the head and died

I remember one of my neighbours in egypt who was a very righteous man, was very young and had absolutely nothing wrong with his health, he was not even a smoker, his wife found him one day dead in his sleep while there was no apparant reason for his death, this is true story

see, Allah is the one Who controls who dies and who don't at any time, this in effect means, He knows when they should die, How they die? I guess, while He also knows how, it is totally irrelevent because we only concerned that knows in advance that they must die at certain time

"Wa Ma Tashaoon Ila An Yashaa Allah"

Allah is watching u. Allah can intervene and change the course of events if He wants to save u, with His abundant mercy and forgiveness.

I agree, but again it is according to His Plan that was built on pre knowledge of what will happen

for example if someone wants to kill me and shot me in the head, Allah can intevene and save me because it is not my time yet to die, see, no contradiction, this means, on that day someone wanted to kill me but I should not die on that day, even if I was shout 100 bullets, but if I was punched in the face in a day that i suppose to die, then that punch will be enough to kill me if Allah wants to misguide a thug and allow him to kill me

Or He can will to just let it happen.

everything will be executed according to his plan that was created based on His pre knoweldge of what will happen by every person, it is exactly like when the jews tried to kill jesus

So, the final call is His. But these things are caused by man,

yes because any man who was misguided by Allah as a result of never turning to Him, as well those things "must to be cause by man" must be allowed by Allah to succeed otherwise it must fail

and can be avoided if man lived in a responsible manner, with all that Allah has blessed us with.

                            Peace!

I guess what you said, is far easier said that done

look at the human history and please be practical and realistic regarding the human nature

                            Peace

Thanks for all the information. It seems that everything has happened already (as God knows what we going to do and he knows the exact time of our death) and it is just repeating itself shock . Is this whats happening, any reference in the Quran ?

                              Peace to all

                                    Hi AB,

I hope you are OK, whats your eye problem? I hope I can help.

                                    Thanks bro

I appreciate your concern, it statrted over a year ago, I think it is from looking on comuter screens for thae last 15 years as this is how I make my living,

I have to put the brightness at the dimmest possible settings otherwise in under 15 minutes all I see is circles with a bit headche, it peaks for about 15 minutes then it clears again slowly after I stay away from the monitor, it does not hapen when the brightness settings is low but sometimes I can not see with that settings so I brighten it a bit and forget then realize when I start seeing the circles, nut no way back I have to go through the course of almost seeing nothing then it clears out in about 15 to 30 minutes but turns to bad headche like now exactly, I checked with my brother who is a doctor in egypt, he suggested that I need a reading glass

my eye sight in normal condition is 6/6 though

what do you think bro, do you reckon I need a reading glass?

I'm just lazy to check it out as I can control it if I put the brightness to the lowest level, but when it happned the first time about a year ago I freaked out bro I thought 100% that I'm going blind, now after it ahpeened about 15 times in that last year, i know exactly its course when it happens

                                    Peace bro

Actuall my PhD was on Photoreceptors and phototransduction. We really know very little about these at the moment. I think you should try to avoid spending too much time on the screen. I hope you get better lol

                                        Hi Ahmed bahgat,

Say, a young boy 0f 15 starts binge drinking alcohol and does so for another 10-15 yrs, and finally dies becoz of the extensive liver damage caused by the alcohol intake. R u saying he would have died at 30 by some other cause, even if he lead a healthy life style, becoz he was destined to die at 30?

absolutely, and I believe the Quran proves as such

So, u r saying he would have died at 30 anyway even if did not drink himself to death? So, according to ur logic, why should people not drink, not smoke, not commit suicide, not kill etc? or are they free to do so?

I disagree, coz I believe, he invited his own death, by his own actions.

that is a toitally differnt issue here really, death is not a punishment to be honest, and I consider it nothing but "Game Over", death is something that is written in a book up there and for everyone it is known in advance by Allah how many years each will live, I guess the Quran suggest as such.
the important point is whatever actions he/she did and is a violation tothe Quran Laws he/she must pay account and be held responsible (I'm talking belivers here),
same case withy suicide, Allah knew that this perosn will kill the self on that day however if that person didn't and must die on that day then he must die on that day
Quran tells us when death comes, it can't be delayed an hour neither postponed an hour

When the time of ''death'' that Allah has pre decided for u arives, no one can stop. But u can bring ur death quite early than what Allah has decided, unless Allah decides to intervene.

Say, I decide to kill myself now. And I die. Are u saying it was destined that I die today? If I did not commit suicide, I would have died some way or the other, like the roof collapsing over me, etc. I absolutely disagree.coz I believe If I did not commit suicide, I would have lived as long as Allah had pre decided for me. Not more.

Say, a person X kills Y(20 yr old). If u r saying Allah knew even before X and Y are born, that Y would be killed by X, if everything is pre programmed, tell me where is the free will? And will X be punished for his action of killing Y? If yes, why should he be punished, coz if its all pre-determined, then how is he responsibile at all? Then arent we mere puppets? Why and how can we be rewarded or punished if all actions are pre determined?

I hope u get the idea. Not everything is pre determined. If everything was predetermined, there is no free will. God gives us some limits, within which we have free will. God can intervene now and then, within the limits if He wishes. Its upto him. Or He may will to just let it happen.

He could have lived longer(which Allah had stipulated for him)

Then it was written in a book that this would have happened if that perosn stayed healthy and didn't drink alcohol, and sure Allah knew this in advance

If Allah knew every action in advance, then how and why will we be judged for our actions, if we are not responsible for them? Makes no sense.

I'm sorry sister we are not the ones who control when we die or how long we live, I agree it looks this way, but according to the Quran it is not the case for sure, how the humans interfer and how they will be held responsible that is something for Allah to judge not me really, but Ii will try to find the verses from the Quran
I follow the Quran sister not my feelings

Feelings? I am not talking either of feelings. Its logic and understanding. I would like to see the Quran verses though.

I am not saying I can decide how long I want to live. Ofcourse, I cant. God has pre decided that for me. But I can shorten my lifespan by foolish actions, unless Allah intervenes with mercy.
For eg, if God has pre decided death for me at 30, I will die at 30. But if God has pre decided death for me at 70, I can die anytime between now and 70 if I am foolish or irresponsible. I wont and cant live a day more than 70. But I can die before 70, becoz of my own actions, unless Allah intervenes and changes the course of events.

Allah knows everything. Its like Allah gives u a chance. If u throw it away, its ur loss and ur decission.

sure, and btw I tried to commit suicide at the age of 19 and tokk 201 sleeping tablets in 48 hours then stayed 3 days in intensive care with heart beat gouing beyond the max scale, somehow I lived becauiuise it was not my time to die

Well, U might have survived becoz
-U had chances of survival, going by your clinical condition. Ur prognosis depends on what drug u took, how much of it was absorbed, When treatment was administered, The medical facilities available etc.
-Or if ur death was absolutely inevitable, by the looks of ur clinical condition, that would mean u escaped becoz Allah intervened to save u.

also my 14 years old daughter was snatched from my hand in the sea bya freak wave when she was about 3 years old and somehow find here floating in the ocean 10 meters away from me and nothing was wrong with her after she stayed under water in fral conditions far more than a minute and yet she lived, see, it was not her time to die

See, we can see only that we can see. For eg, at this very moment, I dont know what is happening in the next room or 100 meteres away from me.
But Allah can see all of it. That doesnt mean He is causing whatever is happening in the next room or 100 mts away from me. He can see it. He can intervene in anything, and cause things to happen. Or he can just let whatever is happening to happen.
So, ur child may have been returned by a wave that was coming forth and she might not have been deep down in water for long or she might have not inhaled water into her lungs etc. There are possible logical explanations. When there are no possible logical explanation, We can say it was caused by God. But when we have logical explanations, Its more like it was allowed by God. God did not cause it, but God did not stop it either. ie, God allowed it to to happen.

I know people who fell from the 2nd floor and died while others who fell from the 6 floor and made it
I also know many who were shot in the head and lived and others who were punched in the head and died

It depends on the injury they sustained, on what surface they fell etc.
There can be logical explanations. Cause and effects.

I remember one of my neighbours in egypt who was a very righteous man, was very young and had absolutely nothing wrong with his heakth, he was not even a smoker, his wife found him one day dead in his sleep while there was no apparant reason for his death, this is true story

Certain things are beyond the control of man. I am not saying everything is within man's control. But what is within man's control, we ought to act responsible towards that.

see Allah is the one Who controls who dies and who don't at certain times, this in effect means that He knows when they should die, How they die? I guess while He also knows how, it is totally irrelevent because we only concerned that knows in advance that they must die at certain time
"Wa Ma Tashaoon Ila An Yashaa Allah"

Yes, Allah has pre decided our life time. And we can not live a day longer than the pre decided time. But we can die sooner, becoz of our foolish actions, if Allah doesnt intervene.

Allah is watching u. Allah can intervene and change the course of events if He wants to save u, with His abundant mercy and forgiveness.

I agree, but again it is according to His Plan that was built on pre knwledge of what will happen.

If every action is predetermined, where is the free will? Why punishments and rewards? What's man's responsibility /role at all?

for example if someone wants to kill me and shot me in the head, Allah can intevene and save me because ity is not my time yet to die, see no contadiction, this means that on that day someone wants to kill me but I should not die on that day, even if I was shout 100 bullets, but if I was punched in the face in a day that i supp-ose to die on it then that punch will be enough to kill me if Allah wants to misguide a thug and allow him to kill me

See, if some one shot u on ur head 100's of time, and destroyed ur brain completely, there is no way u would survive.
If some one slashes ur brain with an axe, absolutely all over and ur brain is absolutely smashed, there is no way u would survive.

Allah can stop these events from happening if He wishes, or He can just let it happen. But he does not cause it to happen. He either allows it to happen or stops it from happening.

Or He can will to just let it happen.

everything will be excuted according to his plan that was created based on His pre knoweldge of what will happen by every person, it is exactly like when the jews tried to kill jesus

Then how are we responsible for our actions at all? Why would we be punished or rewarded?

and can be avoided if man lived in a responsible manner, with all that Allah has blessed us with.

I guess what you said, is far easier said that done
look at the human history and please be practical and realistic regarding the human nature

See, I am responsible for my life to a certain extent. If I am foolish or irresponsible towards my self, then its me to blame for the consequences.

Similarly, If say, I was responsible for some one else's life, for eg, say I am in charge of certain no. of people's accomodation. A day before they are to arrive, I get information from my staff, that the electrical line is at fault and causing leaks. Now my responsibility would be to take action and to set it right, before they come. If I dont, and the electrical leak causes a fire and everyone dies, I am to blame becoz I did not do what I should have done.

So, similarly if each of us act responsible to the best of our ability, towards ourselves and towards our duties, we can prevent man made disasters/errors/tragedies.

On the context, If the saudi government learn from their lessons from the past, and execute well devised structured plans of management/ organisation, these deaths due to stampedes every year could be well avoided.

                                        Peace!

                                          Hi,

But according to my understanding the time of death can not be quicken or delayed. Isn't that true? So even if you drink or have a bad lifestyle, can you quicken the hour?
