Yeah but...why are we to assume by the commandment "you shall wash" God is saying have water touch every single visible part of your body. This starts to fall in the light of hadithistic logic which goes into unnecessary details. To say that because a hair missed to touch water it is as if you washed nothing, is in accordance with the mind of a hadithist, not in accordance with God. God said wash. If he did not include details, don't shove in words. If he said in the Quran "if I say wash and don't specify body parts, it means take a swim" then we can come to that conclusion but not so if no specifications are given.

You have to understand a word/command what you understand out of it normally. If bathing rings a bell in your mind for a whole body wash , then it is what God meant, you cant leave out the things at your own suiting's.
If you are hinting that details of washing (which parts) is not given, I have already replied you for that. When God meant for you to wash only a few parts, HE did mention "only those parts with Ghusl word for ablution" (5-5)
bravo Ok , I understand you, you wanted that God should have listed every body part with this command here, but then again you would have come up with , "Is sitting in a bath tub ok ? or one has to take a running water shower ? What would be the minimum quantity of water required for completing a Quranic Ghusul ? Can one use shampoo, or dry clean herself ? Tap water would do, or do we require a filtered/mineral water" ? ,,, rotfl rotfl rotfl Come on Grow up ,and move on to learning with open mind. There is plenty out here for sincere learners.
(Btw, Hair and scalp are one of the dirtiest parts of your body and hence require frequent cleaning. The oil and sweat with the help of hair, trap maximum dust/pollutants , and are difficult to clean with any method other than proper washing).

No, God does not say "only wash these parts" for ablution....you can take a shower and say you did wudu. Do you see the word "bess"(only) in there, or a similar word?
My point is, if we are to take this logic than we can conclude that "adornments" in the verse adressing women's dress code, is referring to her entire body which is an "adornment" because we think so. You are saying by the command "wash" God means wash your entire body because he did not specify what to wash in the verse about intercourse. It is not left for us to interpret, and if I am supposed to follow "what rings a bell in my mind" then you just admitted it is not up to humans to define what God's words are (and force their opinions on others). You would be right by this as God said himself to his prophet to not explain the Quran. My point is that what Quran is for someone isn't necessarily what it means for another person. Sadly most muslims think the prophet elaborated on the Quran and upheld a "sunna" other than God's to be followed.
