Yes, understanding the brilliance of the metaphor does not equate that we should know all the answers. But at least you are not wasting time searching for ARKS and IRON barriers.

Isn't the barrier supposed to be a mixture of iron and gold or something?
that's what my mom used to tell me.
And i think several different ancient "arks" have been found according to the pictures i've seen floating around on christian and islamic websites.And yes, i've still got a lot to learn (and i actually do learn something new everyday) and i hope we'll find all the answers some day.

Not everything you read in the Koran is metaphoric.
There are some verses thet describe past historic events like wars or conquests.
The "wall" mentioned in Chapter 18 is a military rampart built to block a natural pass between two hills or cliff faces. There is nothing extra-ordinary or mythical about it. It's the people who interpret verses that turn truths into myths.
Gog and Magog do not exist anymore. They perished long ago. Nowhere in the Reading does it say that they will appear again.
Enough said.

I respect the decision you have made for yourself, myself I will not follow that which cant be confrimed, it gives me to guidance whatsoever and is useless. he God's message is not useless so I cannot follow that same reasoning you have used.

lol You can find anything there. Did any of them appear to be big enough for all the animals that were suppossed to be on board?

the words appear in 1894 and 2196 and according to my limited understanding can in both cases be interpreted as some natural phenomenon that can be constrained by building a natural barrier.. could be some rivers that carry toxic substances to harm crops or something along that lines.. but Allah knows Best.

I think the stories in the Qur'an were included for a purpose.. It's my understanding that they were included as a reminder/evidence of the message's truthfulness, strengthening the believer's belief in Allah and the message and the certainty of the hour whenever it comes.
