Do the "muslims" idolize Muhammad and do they make him their god (ilah) in place of God (allah ?

    (cf http//www.witness-pioneer.org/vil/Books/M_four_term/t4_ilah.htm)

Can we say Muhammad is "Best of Creation" (Khayru-l-Khalq) ?

    (Cf http//www.masud.co.uk/ISLAM/misc/best.htm)

    (see also http//www.amrkhaled.net/articles/articles1244.html)

    Peace

I think Sunnis/Traditional muslims are second only to Christians when it comes to idolizing dead prophets. Traditional muslims may say they dont worship Muhammad yet the fact is they view him at no lower extent as Jesus in Christianity. wink

If Muhammad were the best creation then God wouldn't say He makes no difference among His messengers or tells Muhammad to learn from Abraham in the holy Quran. roll

I do agree.. The sunni idolize Muhammad while they were already told not to do so... (Making a distinction among the messengers / rasulin)..

Now here's the 'funny' stuff.. quoted from
          http//islamselect.com/naby/index.php?pg=en

One of the greatest things that makes a Muslim proud is his belief and love of the Messenger, sallallaahu ?alayhi wa sallam (may Allaah exalt his mention). Muslims believe in all the Messengers and the Prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention, and do not distinguish between any of them -- except that our Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu ?alayhi wa sallam, is the last and final messenger and prophet, and he is the best of them.

          Compare the logic above with
We do not make any distinction between human races, black, white, brown, red, yellow -- except white are the best of them.

And also similar in sillynes and illogicality, is a quote from Henry Ford
"People can have the Model T in any colour--so long as it's black."

          Salam / Peace

              peace

they idolize a lot of things- the quran, the kaaba, the stone inside the kaaba, the "two holy mosques," the foot prints of some guy beside the kaaba, the foot prints of some guy who lived in sri lanka, muhammad, anything the verses of the quran are written on, certain mountains, cities, hadith books, zam zam water, miswaks, the azan, honey, and that's all i can think of right now.

                Peace be upon you Pheonix1,

I agree, lets not stop at "muhammad", there is far much more being idolized, although I agree "muhammd" is at the top of the list

Muhammad have done a great job in delivering the message of God. He was chosen by God to do this great task, but it also great if we successfully maintain this great message in our life and to other people. If Muhammad were alive today, he would say "Please do your job to deliver Quran, not praising me."

Yes... 100% agree... job well done Muhammad!
Sadly he has been 'severely abused' with fabricated 'stories' / 'gossip' falsely attributed to his name...
By reading the 'fabricated stories' we now have

                    • The dog hating Muhammad
                    • The killing machine Muhammad
                    • The oft swearing by God name Muhammad
                    • Hajar Aswad kisser Muhammad
                    • The illiterate Muhammad

                    Salam / Peace
