Do You Fear Muslims Will be Attacked?

As SAlaam Alaikum,
It's that time again and I am fearing that MUslims may be persecuted in the near future. I am feeling that hte world is becoming more hostile towads Muslims and hta we may just end up being persecuted, rounded up, etc, etc... I know that am being paranoid... but do you fear anytype of severe backlash towards MUslims in the future? Like 10, 20, 30 years from now?
What do u think will happen??? How do you see the Muslim world and its relations with the Westernw world 10 or so years from now?
salaam

Salaam PM,
When you mentioned "Muslims", do you also include Sunnis, Shi'ahs, Ahmadiyahs, etc? Because in Indonesia, being an Inkar Sunnah (hadiths rejectors) is not that safe either. D
Ahmadiyahs think that they are "Muslims" but not according to Sunnis (at least that is what is going on in my country). I view my self as a muslim but not according to some Sunnis I know D
To tell you the truth, I am even more worried dealing with my fellow "Muslims" in this country than, say, the Christians D

Yea, I think its inevitable if the Muslims continue not caring for anyone besides other Muslims. For instance, suicide bombings in Israel were usually justified by Muslims until they started happening in Muslims countries as well.
I don't see these guys condemning violence anytime soon. Theyre stuck in jihad mode.

Salaam Jankren,
Do we follow just Muhammad? I don't D
I am following the examples set up by those individuals who Allah said Himself as good servants in the quran. I quit being Muhammadans a while ago. If people ask me do you follow Muhammad? I will just say "No, but he is one the individuals I set up as an example in moral standard and spiritual achievement." D
That being said, I admit that the first likely impression of so many people watching a person reading the quran is, "Hmmm... a Muhammad's follower." D

Peace,
Is their a growing number of Qur'an only Muslims in Indonesia?
I don't think so... if anything religious is growing here, it must be the political Muslims. They're on the rise right now...
That said, it's true that us Indonesians are a bit more active here these days!

Although I believe in God and try to uphold what is in the Quran, when people ask me what "religion" or "faith" I am, I deny being "Muslim". idea
! Why? Because the term "Muslim" in English carries connotations of turban-wearing, gun-toting, woman-hating, religious fundamentalists. It also implies that one goes on pilgrimage to Mecca, prays 5 times a day, worships Muhammed and belongs to either the Shiite or Sunni cults. Etcetera...
Therefore, I am not a "Muslim".
I prefer simply to say that, "I believe in God", and sometimes if it suits me I add, "and I read the Bible and the Quran". This is far simpler than having to explain the madness that is "Islam".
We need more Quran only muslims I guess.
I disagree. I just think the world needs more people who try to uphold righteousness because they believe in God. To hell with all "religion" (6159, 3032, and many more).
! We should all just live our everyday lives doing righteous works, while maintaining a simple belief in God, (Not least because a more complex understanding of God is not possible) severing ties to all groups and casting away all titles...
Because in the end, they are meaningless, and earn us nothing. The best in the sight of God are the most righteous. (4913)

As Salaam Alaikum Nazz,
So should I stop calling myself "black" becuase of all of the bad things the media has labeled blacks???
the word "muslim" is in the Quran... it's not something that you can debate about it.
along with that, what would you call yourself if God asked you what you are? Would you deny being Muslim? If you are willing to call yourself a Muslim in front of him.... but not in front of other people, that must mean that there is some form of persecution going on in your area. Allah has clearly warned against those who choose to live in lands where they are persecuted.

Allah has clearly warned against those who choose to live in lands where they are persecuted.
I believe that the reading does speak about there being no wrong in concealing one's stance towards God if the community will seek a means to try and destroy you. The youths of the cave experienced this and kept to themselves.

Peace,
So should I stop calling myself "black" becuase of all of the bad things the media has labeled blacks???
No, but I understand the comparison you're trying to make, but I feel it is incompatible with this situation.what would you call yourself if God asked you what you are? Would you deny being Muslim?
This is exactly what I was trying to get at. I deny being "muslim" because this word for English speakers/"Westerners" carries stereotypes and meaning which are not true of real believers. If God asked me about my belief (and He is the most knowledgeable about that) I would reply with the truth?that is, that I believe in Him and His scriptures. ? the arabic title of "muslim" is unnecessary.! What I'm trying to say is that when you speak with most people, the words "Muslim" and "Islam" have a different meaning for them. (for that matter, even amongst other "muslim" believers) So, I "deny" being that which the meaning inherent in those words, conveys. Put another way;
IF (Islam = pray 5 times a day, muslims have beards, women must wear head coverings etc.) THEN I am NOT part of Islam, I am NOT a muslim.
If you are willing to call yourself a Muslim in front of him.... but not in front of other people, that must mean that there is some form of persecution going on in your area. Allah has clearly warned against those who choose to live in lands where they are persecuted.
The verse you are referring to refers only to those who lead their lives in apathy as a result of their persecution.I believe that the reading does speak about there being no wrong in concealing one's stance towards God if the community will seek a means to try and destroy you...
Indeed, these verses are (328, 402 ... I feel there is one more, But I can't find it. In any case, this isn't what I'm doing anyway.
