Four Restricted Months
-
Peace!
None of us have difference of opinion that Quran is well expounded in detail and it is easy to understand. Now, what is wondering me is that why the four restricted months are not listed in the Quran.
I would appreciate if anyone could help me find out the answer.
Thanks and regards.

according to 1664, we should know it from the prophet, i.e. 1664 is telling us the the prophet should EXPLAIN to us what we differ in

Dear brother,
Thanks for taking time to reply me. How are we to know it from the Prophet when he is not with us to explain it?

there is a simple common sense that can be followed and qualified by the Quran or at least the Quran will give it a bit of integrity, in fact using the same common sense many of the history record about the prophet can be proven false, but the ones that can be proven true or at least can not be proven wrong should stand out and should be followed according to 1664 "Le Yobain Lana" "To Explain to us", what we differ
If Allah said that He sent Mohammad to Al Alameen "All Humanity", then Allah must have known that we will live 1400 years after Him and I'm sure He gave us brains to work it out with ease

Does your explanation imply that Prophet Mohamed is still alive on this earth and he will come to us teach the Quran?

Hi brother,
Does your explanation imply that Prophet Mohamed is still alive on this earth and he will come to us teach the Quran?
Peace!
This is not my explanation, this is the common sense explanation that my 12 years old child will understand considering that a major part is based on BELIEF in the UNSEEN according to 23
now here is 1664 again and please try to refute, no one here so far managed to refute it
Mohammad mission was not only to deliver the Quran, but to explain/make clear to us those things in which we differ (like Salat, Zakat, Four Sacred Months etc etc...)
?And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe.?
(64)
-> We can read above that the prophet mission was not just to deliver the Quran but to explain ? ? a few things that we may differ, a very strong argument against the hadith rejectors, you see it is very easy to use the Quran to qualify any hadith because we know that the prophet should deliver it then use it to guide humanity and explain to them few things that we may differ in them (and sire you can see this on this very web site). it is like saying the Quran verses again in different way for further explanation because the prophet was only talking by the Quran.
The bottom line that because we have the preserved Quran we can use it easy to Qualify the hadith, ie, THE QURAN QUALIFIES THE HADITH
If the Muslim Ummah apply this simple logic, about 75% of the hadiths should be burnt or thrown in the rubbish bin and the rest is upheld by Muslims "all united" as mere teachings by the great prophet that we managed to get hold on and in no way comes near the Quran, a very simple solution indeed.
Now to answer your question, of course i'm not implying that the prophet lives between us because he is dead many years ago, however the Quran that he delivered is with us and all the rumours about what he said or not can be qualified by the Quran with ease
for example just to make it clear to you
there is a hadith in bukhari about prophet Moses refusing to bath with the rest of the jews (i.e. there were bathing naked together) now the Jews though that Moses has a disability in his penis, so one day when Moses was bathing alone, Allah made the stone that Moses put his cloth on runs with it, so Moses was angry and chased it naked and the Jews saw him and it sounds like they liked what they saw and Moses proved to be a man, soory bro i have to say this wtf?
now the story raise a few serious questions
-
what the hell this has to do with prophet Mohammad teaching about the Quran?
-
what the hell this has to do with finding the way to Allah?
-
I don't understand why Allah made the stone runs with the cloth, why He didn't make the cloth runs on its own?, see, if He can make the stone runs with the cloth, sure He cab make the cloth runs on it own, Be and It is
-
why the hell Moses bashed the stone affterwood, I guess He should have known that God caused this to refute the Jews allegations about his penis ( what a load of non sense man)
see how a poor slave like me managed to destroy that hadith?, i only used simple common sense, I didn't need rocket science to prove it
peace be with you bro

Salam Ahmed
I hope you can at least agree that 1664 can be interpreted differently than the way you have taken it.
"And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe." 1664
One can very easily say that this entire verse is about the Qur'an and the Qur'an only, nothing extra-Qur'anic.
The "that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ" can also refer to the purpose of the Qur'an. The Messenger's sole duty, we are told (4248, 599, etc.), is to deliver the message. With this in mind, it becomes clear that the delivery of that message (the Messenger's sole duty) is what makes clear to the unbelievers in which they differ.
This makes textual and logical sense. If we look at the verses before verse 64, we see that God refers to disbelievers and nations before the Prophet who were sent messengers and who quarrelled and fell for Shaitan's tricks.
We know, for example, that the Jewish leaders attributed lies to God, and the Christians attributed lies to Jesus and God as well. Then, comes the Qur'an. God is telling the Prophet that he sent down the Quran to the Prophet for an express purpose. What is that purpose? To show the other nations, the other peoples, that what they differ in is wrong. In other words, God sends the Qur'an down to "set the record straight," if you will. God gives the Prophet the Qur'an so that he will "make clear to them tose things in which they differ..."
It is confirmed that the entire verse is about the Qur'an only when we read the rest of the verse, "and that it should be a guide and mercy to those believe," again referring to the Book.
But don't take my word for it. God Himself says that He is the one who explains/makes clear the Qur'an.
"Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear)" 7519
Finally, we can think about these same ideas in a current-day scenario to make the point clear
Let's say I am a geography professor. I have heard two of my students arguing over what the capital of Sudan is. One of them says Khartoum. The other says Omdurman. The correct answer is Khartoum. I'm running late so I give a map of Africa to my assistant. He asks me why. I tell him "I am giving you this map so that you can make clear for them in that which they differ." He delivers the map to the students. They see that indeed it is Khartoum that is the capital of Sudan.
Has my assistant delivered the map? Yes.
Are the students now "clear" about which they differed? Yes, they now know it is Khartoum.
Hence, did my assistant, through the very process of delivery, "make clear to them" about which they differ? Yes.God knows best. Peace.

Peace mate
1664 can't be referring to the Quran bro, here is why and later on I will add another comment and would like to hear yur opinion
?And We have not revealed to you the Book except that you may make clear to them (explain) that about which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.?
(64)
-> Above we read Allah is telling us that Mohammad had another mission in addition to ?Deliver the book?, and it is clearly seen in the Arabic verse ? ?, ie. ?Except to Explain to them?, the Ta in the word ? ?, pronounced as ?LeTobbain? is referring to the prophet and NOT THE QURAN, if it is referring to the Quran IT MUST BE A Ya like this ?? , pronounced ?LeYobbain?, an example is like this?Allah desires to explain to you, and to guide you into the ways of those before you, and to turn to you (mercifully), and Allah is Knowing, Wise.?
(26)
Therefore, if Allah said to His prophet that He sent the Quran for him to explain what they differ , ? ?, then clearly the prophet had another mission in addition to delivery, and because the explanation was ASSOCIATED to the Quran only as seen from 1664, then we can use the Quran to qualify what we heard from the hadith
someone tried to refute the above by suggesting it is a typo and the dots must be under not above, well this can not be admissable
Peace

Salam Brother Ahmed
This is a good discussion; I'm enjoying it.
Unfortunately, I think I wasn't clear in my explanation, no pun intended.
I do not allege that the "that you make clear to them" is grammatically referring to the Qur'an (Ta instead of Ya). I agree with you; God is indeed saying to the Prophet "you" meaning he is referring to what the Prophet must do.
What I am saying, however, is that we must ask ourselves what that means. "Making things clear" and "having additional duties of exposition to his people" are not necessarily synonymous. There is a gap there. We must put aside our preconceptions and ask ourselves how to interpet this using the self-reference of the Qur'an.
Now, to my mind, there are two ways to interpret the phrase
- That the Prophet has duties more than just delivering. In addition to merely delivering the Qur'an, he must 'make things clear' through means outside of the Qur'an, i.e. hadith, sunna, etc.
OR
- The Prophet does NOT have duties in addition to delivery of the Qur'an. His sole duty is to deliver. The 'make things clear' phrase refers not to some additional thing that the Prophet must do but rather is a characteristic of his sole duty. The delivery of his message is what "makes things clear" to those who disbelieve. Had the Prophet chosen not to deliver the message, things would not be clear. We would have no Qur'an. But nay, things are clear for us, because, alas, the Qur'an has been delivered by the Prophet.
Now, when given a choice between these interpretations, God has given us two tools for deciding which one is true
-
Our aql our ability to reason and use our intellect.
-
The other verses our interpretation must not contradict other verses of the Qur'an.
-
I think my Geography professor example above was an example of how we can use our reason and experience to realize what the verse is saying. "Make things clear" does not necessarily mean additional duties given to the Prophet. Rather, it can simply be clarifying for us what exactly it is the Prophet is doing by delivering the Qur'an. Indeed, many verses use the same language when speaking in reference to the Qur'an they refer to it as a book that "makes things clear."
The two best examples of this is
"A.L.R. These are the Ayats of Revelation,- of a Qur'an that makes things clear" 151 (Yusufali)
"These are the verses of the Qu'ran,- a book that makes (things) clear;" Yusufali 271
See also 2185 and 3669
- We must use Qur'anic self-reference when interpreting. As you see above, it is crystal clear that the Qur'an refers to itself as a thing "that makes things clear." This gives evidence to the interpretation that the Prophet's delivery of the message is how he "makes things clear" to the disbelievers, not by additionally doing something himself.
Also, when deciding between the two interpretations, we must ask ourselves what does the Qur'an say. Does the Qur'an agree that the Prophet has additional duties? Or does the Qur'an say the Prophet had one duty?
Indeed the Qur'an says the Prophet's sole duty was to deliver the Qur'an see 4248 and 599.
God knows best. Peace.

Salam brother

No worries bro, I?m enjoying it too
Unfortunately, I think I wasn't clear in my explanation, no pun intended.
I do not allege that the "that you make clear to them" is grammatically referring to the Qur'an (Ta instead of Ya). I agree with you; God is indeed saying to the Prophet "you" meaning he is referring to what the Prophet must do.
Thanks bro, this is a very strong argument indeed, and was the one that made me think about this whole quran alone concept, no one said to me though, I just discovered it myself and many other strong points that I will show you later inshaallah, but let me stress that it was not like I was a sunni then became Quran alone then back to sunni, no way, I have been the exact muslim since I was aware of being one, I follow a very fine line in between but I listen to all
What I am saying, however, is that is besides the point. We must put aside our preconceptions and ask ourselves how to interpet this using the self-reference of the Qur'an.
This is the only way to conclude a specific meaning, however some subjects were mentioned very little and self reference can?t be enough, like 43 ?marrying 4 women? this verse can be speculated in different ways and was only mentioned once and we can?t self reference the truth about marrying 4 women, I see the Quran as a book that is not for the faint hearted and anyone who claim that the book should be easy to all is misleading the self and sure others because the Quran is only easy to those who are sincere to find the way to Allah, and when Allah confirms this sincerity, understanding the book will be very easy
Now, to my mind, there are two ways to interpret the phrase
- That the Prophet has duties more than just delivering. In addition to merely delivering the Qur'an, he must 'make things clear' through means outside of the Qur'an, i.e. hadith, sunna, etc.
Of course this is the closest meaning that sounds most accurate to the context of the clear Arabic words, but prophet Mohammad was not unique here, ALL PROPHET WERE SENT ?LeYobaino? ?to explain? to their people all the things that they will differ, here is my evidence
We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases and He is Exalted in power, full of
(4)
-> See bro, all the messengers were sent to do the same exact thing ? ?, ?LeYobain?, ?To Explain?, Yusuf Ali translated as ? in order to make (things) clear to them?
-> Now, in the whole Quran the word ?YoBain? was only referring to Allah or the Prophets, when it was ?ToBain? it was referring to prophet Mohammad because grammatically must be this way in ?Mukhataba?, ?Directing a speech to someone?, I have never seen it referring to the Quran, the word ?Mubeen? is a totally different story and I will refute it inshallah fair and square
- The Prophet does NOT have duties in addition to delivery of the Qur'an. His sole duty is to deliver.
I don?t agree with this bro, this is so degrading to the great prophets ?all of them? they are like puppets in a global courier company, if their job is to deliver only then why Allah just dropped it to us from the sky?. Or sent an angel with it to all of us?, see the Quran never said that the Job of the prophet is delivering the Quran, it only said this
The duty of the messenger is only to convey (the message). Allah knoweth what ye proclaim and what ye hide.
(99)
-> Reading the Arabic words above we see that the words (the message) doesn?t exist in the Arabic text, obviously it was added by the translator, the accurate translation should be like this
The duty of the messenger is only to convey. Allah knoweth what ye proclaim and what ye hide.
-> Now, what to convey can be the Quran and the their (the messengers) explanations ?Whatever they explained to us what we differ in?, do you agree bro?,
Furthermore, the Quran was clear in the roles of the messengers
Allah clearly told us that He gave the prophets Al Kitab and Al Hikmah and also other things that we never knew but from the prophets only, one of those things that humans didn?t know is the Salat for example or the four sacred months
A similar (favour have ye already received) in that We have sent among you a Messenger of your own, rehearsing to you Our Signs, and sanctifying you, and instructing you in Scripture and Wisdom, and teaches you that which you did not know
(151)
-> Clear as light from 2152, Allah sent His prophets to do the followings
-
? ?, i.e. ? rehearsing to us Our Signs?
-
? ?, i.e. ? and sanctifying you?
-
? ?, i.e. ? and instructing you in Scripture and Wisdom?, obviously we can see that the scriptures is something else other than wisdom and both should be instructed to us by the prophets, this can cover the Salat and many other things clearly but if not enough for you then point 4 will knock it to bed
-
? ?, i.e. ? and teaches you that which you did not know?, this is a killer of an argument, Allah is telling us clearly that the prophets should teach us what we don?t know, these teachings are something else other than the scripture and the wisdom, as those two were also mentioned earlier, now, how to perform Salat should be covered under what we don?t know as well it is not in the scripture neither it is part of any wisdom.
Now, the Quran told us the that Allah taught the prophets things other than the Kitab and Hikmah
And were it not for Allah's grace upon you and His mercy a party of them had certainly designed to bring you to perdition and they do not bring (aught) to perdition but their own souls, and they shall not harm you in any way, and Allah has revealed to you the Book and the wisdom, and He has taught you what you did not know, and Allah's grace on you is very great.
(15)
-> How come the magic ?makes things clear??, obviously it means the OBVIOUS MAGIC, or the CLEAR MAGIC, or the MANIFEST MAGIC, that every human can see clearly
And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon.
(23)
-> How come the horizon ?makes things clear??, obviously it means the OBVIOUS HORIZON, or the CLEAR HORIZON, or the MANIFEST HORIZON, that every human can see clearly
Say He is the Beneficent Allah, we believe in Him and on Him do we rely, so you shall come to know who it is that is in clear error.
(29)
-> How come the error ?makes things clear??, obviously it means the OBVIOUS ERROR, or the CLEAR ERROR, or the MANIFEST ERROR, that every human can see clearly, possibly only the believers can clearly see the CLEAR ERROR in this case
Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority.
(3
-> How come the authority ?makes things clear??, obviously it means the OBVIOUS AUTHORITY, or the CLEAR AUTHORITY, or the MANIFEST AUTHORITY, that every human can see clearly
Surely We have given to you a clear victory
(1)
-> How come the victory ?makes things clear??, obviously it means the OBVIOUS VICTORY, or the CLEAR VICTORY, or the MANIFEST VICTORY, that every human can see clearly
Then, as for those who believed and did good works, their Lord will bring them in unto His mercy. That is the evident triumph.
(30)
-> How come the triumph ?makes things clear??, obviously it means the OBVIOUS TRIUMPH, or the CLEAR TRIUMPH, or the MANIFEST TRIUMPH, that every human can see clearly
And let not the Shaitan prevent you; surely he is your obvious enemy.
(62)
-> Now this one is funny LOL, How come the enemy?makes things clear?? I guess the enemy will always try to make things not clear to us LOL, obviously it means the OBVIOUS ENEMY, or the CLEAR ENEMY, or the MANIFEST ENEMY, that every human can see clearly
Therefore keep waiting for the day when the heaven shall bring an evident smoke,
(10)
-> Here is another funny one LOL, How come the smoke?makes things clear?? I guess the smoke will make us blind and disoriented LOL, obviously it means the OBVIOUS SMOKE, or the CLEAR SMOKE, or the MANIFEST SMOKE, that every human can see clearly
And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls.
(113)
-> Now bro, you tell me, how being unjust to their own souls ?makes things clear, unless you reckon it means ? who are clearly unjust to their own souls.?, which is a perfect translation to ? ?
So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent,
(32)
-> And finally here is the mother of all laughs, LOL, How come the snake?makes things clear??, possibly it means ?An obvious snake?, I don?t know bro I will go and ask my 14 years old child and let you know, LOL, just kiddin man
Now for the translators to come and translate the following verse
(2)
as the followings
YUSUFALI By the Book that makes things clear;-
PICKTHAL By the Scripture that maketh plain
SHAKIR I swear by the Book that makes manifest (the truth).are false, misleading and deceitful, it only means, any of the followings
- The Obvious Book
- The Clear Book
- The Evident Book
- The Manifest Book
The verb ?Make? never existed in the Arabic verse, bearing in mind that the verb ?Yobain?, ?to Explain? was never used with the Quran as its entity doing the verb.
Now, when given a choice between these interpretations, God has given us two tools for deciding which one is true
- Our aql our ability to reason and use our intellects
I agree with this 100%
- The other verses our interpretation must not contradict other verses of the Qur'an.
Exactly, and I showed you a case study that clearly expose the ignorance of the translators
- I think my Geography professor example above was an example of how we can use our reason and experience to realize what the verse is saying.
The Quran only makes things clear for the guided ones who sincerely want to be guided, all the others will have a seal on their minds, and hearts and they will never be able to understand it, the Quran does not make things clear as it does not really show me how to fix my car, even the scientific facts mentioned in it were put in an unclear manner which sure to serve the purpose of testing and I have no problem with that, in fact the guided ones will see those scientific miracles clearly while others will never be able to comprehend it, but what I found the Quran does is this
Verily this Qur'an doth guide to that which is most right (or stable), and giveth the Glad Tidings to the Believers who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a magnificent reward;
(9)
The two best examples of this is
"A.L.R. These are the Ayats of Revelation,- of a Qur'an that makes things clear" 151 (Yusufali)
"These are the verses of the Qu'ran,- a book that makes (things) clear;" Yusufali 271
My argument that this is wrong translation will stand bro until anyone can refute it
See also 2185 and 3669
2185, clearly means that the Quran is full of OBVIOUS evidences for the Huda and Furqan, i.e. for the Guidance and the separation between good and evil
3669, clearly says IT IS AN OBVIOUS QURAN, it never said Quran that makes things clear
I agree with referring to the Quran to explain itself, this is what I only do really, but I don?t with the wrong intepetation that it makes things clear, this is refuted with the will of Allah bro and by using His Quran
Also, when deciding between the two interpretations, we must ask ourselves what does the Qur'an say. Does the Qur'an agree that the Prophet has additional duties? Or does the Qur'an say the Prophet had one duty?
I explained and shoed you more than one evidence regarding the roles of the prophets
Indeed the Qur'an says the Prophet's sole duty was to deliver the Qur'an see 4248 and 599.
4248, NEVER MENTIONED THE QUARN, it only says that the prophet role is to convey (period), now why you are taking it as conveying the Quran alone?
599, same case, it never mentioned the Quran in the verse and I see it as being biased to assume it is talking about the Quran alone
God knows best. Peace.
Thank bro
Peace be with you
-
Salaams all,
Who is making things clear? ALLAH? or the ?Messenger??
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE ALLAH OR THE MESSENGER? TO MAKE THINGS CLEAR.
Isn?t it the sender, as it is therefore he is making things clear- the messenger is merely the delivery the message/s.
We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases and He is Exalted in power, full of
The duty of the messenger is only to convey (the message). Allah knoweth what ye proclaim and what ye hide.
Hence Allah knows whether it is clear to one person or not ?but the messenger doesn?t !
NOW DOES HE?
What guides?
Verily this Qur'an doth guide to that which is most right (or stable), and giveth the Glad Tidings to the Believers who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a magnificent reward;
Who wants to EXPLAIN TO YOU AND guide you?
?Allah desires to explain to you, and to guide you into the ways of those before you, and to turn to you (mercifully), and Allah is Knowing, Wise.?
And whats making things clear? We already now Who is making things clear from above , don?t we?
?And we have not revealed to you the Book except that you may make clear to them (explain) that about which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.?
-
Hello simple
then explain to me how Allah explained the times of the salat in the Quran and how many are they?, as well can you tell me what are the 4 sacred months?
and please tell me about marrying 4, how it works?
also the verses I posted are clear they say the prophets to explain, the verses did not say Allah to explain, but I understand that by making the prophet to expalin is like Allah explained, aren't they His messengers, or just a bunch of couriers who knows nothing about what they carry?
peace
-
Hello all
just before I go to bed, there is no one verse where it says the prophet job is "Balagh Al Quran"
all the verses that mentioned "Balagh" never mentioned the Quran after it
now there is no way on earth that "Balagh" means "Delivery", it actually means "Informing"
another blow to this flawed concept of the prophets being a mere ignorant couriers to deliver the books
peace to all
-
Double post.
-
Peace ab and all. Ab i must say that your theoretical method of quran, plus some hadith and common-sense is excellent. I feel that some people on a 'quran only' methodology are failing to see the prophets role and the contradictions they are making. Do we really believe the prophet did not say a single word about the verses of the quran? Or that no intact records of his explanations have reached us? This i find strange, especially when some members seem to have many explanations of their own.If it was just a case of sitting and reading a book and understanding it all in one go(because its supposed to be so clear.),then why the constant debate on salat?(not to mention haj, masjid, slaves etc..) In reality some members are creating their own hadith(which i dont really mind.),but my question is why are their own hadith better than anybody elses? Anybodies opinion on a verse is in reality a hadith or an attempt to understand the underlying reality of the quran. The main thing,i think,is verifying these hadiths and quranic verses with factual knowledge,study,experience,open-mindedness,universal facts, intellect, intuition and humility. I dont think its cool to slam someones understanding just because it is derived from a source you dont recognise or understand, because their understanding could have the exact same conclusions as a 'quran only' stance. I think there is more unity than we think.
Peace all. -
Hi Ahmed,
please don't think I don't believe in the hadiths - because I do think most of them , may be all are actually correct but they are mistranslated as some people have said here-like your rock running away with Moses clothes above - all a mistranslation sorry to say.
At the same time I am of the opinion that they aren?t a necessity though - the quran was sufficient but it is some what mistranslated as we all know.
You said
"Then explain to me how Allah explained the times of the salat in the Quran and how many are they? as well can you tell me what are the 4 sacred months?
And please tell me about marrying 4, how it works? "
It?s all confusion due to mistranslation.
If Allah is talking about a cow but some heathen starts to give it the definitions of an aero plane - you can guess what happens.
God Bless All.
-
None of us have difference of opinion that Quran is well expounded in detail and it is easy to understand. Now, what is wondering me is that why the four restricted months are not listed in the Quran.
Because they already knew them even before the Reading was revealed.

Peace pazuzu. Now thats an interesting idea...With a lot of implications. idea

This is just a quick comment and I will respond to each comment directed to me later on as I do have a very busy day today
Yesterday with the will of Allah, I discovered in one of the verses I posted THAT ALLAH IS CLEARLY TELLING US TO FOLLOW THE SUNNAH OF THE PREVIOUS PEOPLE, NOW THIS IS ONE HELL OF A MOTHER OF ALL ARGUMENTS THAT IS JUST BEEN BORN YESTERDAY, I HOPE EACH ONE PUT THOUGHTS INTO IT AND WE DISCUSS IT LATER IN DETAILS, here is the verse, it was posted in one of my comments above and sure no one noticed it, even me for years and years never saw the clear meaning, "Subhana Allah", only yesterday it was cleared out somehow
?Allah desires to explain to you, and to guide you into the ways of those before you, and to turn to you (mercifully), and Allah is Knowing, Wise.?
(26)
-> see the key words " ", "and to guide you into the ways of those before you"
Peace be with all
