What is GOD?
-
Peace be upon you,
"I am that I am"
The bodiless intelligence that all creation manifests from.
-
Yea, what the burning bush said "I Am That I Am." D
To me that is Love which can also be called one God, unity or wholeness, this is how I see it, for there is no seperation in love, for as the fisher-of-men has said "As you have done to the least of these, thy brethren, you have done unto him, thy Maker."
And love has no purpouse save be it to fullfil its self.
-
Salaam all,
I think choosing "something else" is okay for me too. The bottom line is that the absolute truth about God is beyond our abilities to fathom or comprehend. The quran gives "hints" about God but never actually says what God really is. Limiting God to human concepts will just make God seemed un-God-ly to me. )

Peace be upon you,
When you know your SELF, you know God. We are created in the "image" of God, not physical form, but the attributes.
-
Salaam Idolfree,
As long as only the attributes, I am agree with that. By cultivating God's attributes in our self, we will be more in tune with Him.
What I object is the limiting God to limited human concepts. That being said, God's attributes are not the whole package. But it is truly a great package that we can learn and contemplate in a life time. And perhaps never even comprehend it fully.

Peace khalil,idol-free and all.
Khalil;great understanding.
Idol-free;i agree. He who truely knows himself knows God.I believe god is a word to denote the sum total of all that exists, united by the common factors of being concious and being a form of energy. God is not seperate from all that exists.
Peace all.
