If you can convince someone to believe in God, then you are greater than God. The best you can do is defend your position.

Q . God created us and everything around , if an atheist asks us then who created God, we would say tht God is not created he has alwayz been there , but if an atheist tells tht isnt it possible for us also to be not created n just to there or our existence is only a luck
wht to tell him in this situationPeace,
If the universe is an entity that is expanding, what exactly is it expanding into??????
Was the universe created or was it 'just there'?
If the universe was 'just there' then that reason aswell can be used for God.
If God was created by another being, then that being was also created and so on and so on and so on. Time as we know gives us the impression that there is an everlasting amount of creators. This, in a rational logical way, is not feasible. There is just one creator who just is.

Peace be upon you Samina,
Q how does monesthetic believe makes more sense then polytheisthic one
thts is who does believe in one God makes more sense then believe in multiple Gods?i think tht if there many Gods every God would be fighting over the superiority
Q . God created us and everything around , if an atheist asks us then who created God, we would say tht God is not created he has alwayz been there , but if an atheist tells tht isnt it possible for us also to be not created n just to there or our existence is only a luck
wht to tell him in this situationWell, on the physical plane, all he or she needs to do is have a child, then they will see a person created. Or they can take thier life as far back as they can go and reach the same conclusion.
In regards to us always being, yes, we are manifestations of the One God, there is really no "us" but God. So in essence, yes, energy/matter has always been and will always be, just manifestinig in different forms.
Q an atheist can ask tht why doesnt ur God come in front of us wht good explaination can we give for tht
The God is not an object, but a subject. Creation is the objective manifestation of the subjective BEING. You come "face to face" with this when you are sleep and not dreaming. That is the realm where there are no OBJECTS, the subjective realm. Just the same way that thoughts and images are created in your mind from nothingness, the dark realm of no-thing-ness.
Q if an atheist asks us tht why did God create us at first place , we can tell him/her to test us then if again the atheist asks why does God wants to test us for wht ?
No, you tell them we are created to SERVE the God. The God comes through our vessel when we purify our vessel. We are like the car to a human for God. We are like the TOOLS of the Great Architect.
-
Peace all. Even atheists will believe in nature/love/atraction/awareness/energy/existence etc... I believe they just dont like the baggage attached to the word God by the differing and contradictory opinions given by some traditionally religious people.( which are not logical or verfiable.) Atheists can still be moral and good people. Just as some monotheists can behave immorally. Ask an atheist if they believe in their own existence and that of others...If they say yes(which is most likely.) ,then existence can just be another word for god. Same with the concept of 'nature'. No use arguing over different words which point to the same 'ultimate' reality.
-
Peace be upon you Enquirer,
I have the same theory about some atheists, they dont like all the baggage that comes with the term so they IMITATE the only other option that they have in thier memories.
-
Peace idolfree and all. Also i think with some who call themselves 'atheists' they do believe in their own power and that of others.
In no way now would i assume an atheist does not believe in the 'all' Even some known as pagans and polytheists, when you analyse their beliefs they do believe in the 'all' too. I think the labels are sometimes deceptive.
I think most people believe in their conciousness, and the conciousness of others...Its very hard to deny conciousness and existence. The word/concept of god can be said in a million different ways, which sometimes are not recognised by all. (eg the 'great spirit' of the red-indians,or nature etc..)
Peace all. -
when people stop antropromorphising God, such questions will never be asked. Because as long as we in some way or another view The Dinvine as a god person, such a question makes sense. When you dont, it makes no sense what so ever.
-
Peace magi and all. I think there is a knowable aspect of a god and an unknowable aspect of god.We are all part of god(the all.) so there is no problem with anthromporphising some parts of the whole. But there are some parts that are not human(eg gravity.) ,and some parts that we have not yet encountered. The parts are verifiable with direct experience, and the whole is intuitively/intellectually verifiable. But we cant know all of god at one time in detail, because god(the all.) is infinitely diverse in infinite dimensions..And any individual has limitations, because its a part of the whole.(the all/god.)
Peace all. -
Peace Samina, All,
Samina, you stated
i have to make him believe in God
Why? As many have mentioned, you don't have the ability to make someone believe in God. Nor should you even attempt it, because what you'd be attempting is not making your friend believe in God, but making him believe in YOUR understanding of God.
I once had a series of debates with a very polite, respectful, and intelligent atheist. Where we ended in our understanding of each other is that what I call God, he calls nature, as you and others have mentioned.
There is great wisdom to be found if we only let go of our preconceptions. This is why I think it's important not to put people in little boxes, even if they supply the labels. wink
I say, let your atheist friend speak his mind, and you speak yours, in a respectful and open spirit. He may even teach you something about God.
Peace,

I say, let your atheist friend speak his mind, and you speak yours, in a respectful and open spirit. He may even teach you something about God.
How true a statement!
I think we should stop seeing people as atheists and believers and treat everyone as human beings...
Many atheists are very moral and peaceful and compassionate people. And I have many good friend and work colleagues who are "atheists" but I never see them any less...nor do ever agonise over if they will go to heaven or hell etc...
I think we all will make peace one day with our creator - atheists and believers alike...

from http//www.quranicteachings.co.uk/purpose-of-creation.htm
In my humble understanding, the purpose of man's creation, according to the Quran is to turn his potentialities into actualities. Please consider the following three points
-
According to 5156, the purpose of the creation of man in 'Ibada
-
According to 221, the purpose of 'Ibada is Taqwa
-
According to 2189, 3130, and 3200, the purpose of Taqwa is Falah
According to the above three points the ultimate purpose of man's creation is Falah.
'Ibada (, when the object of the word is Allah) is compliance with the Commands of Allah with humility and submissiveness, in all walks of man's life
Taqwa is preservation from any harm, disintegration or decay
Falah is from Falahat (i.e. the practice of cultivating the land,) which is done to convert the potentialities of a seed into actualities
According to 918, Allah has put in man's nafs the characteristic to become disintegrated or preserved. Becoming of nafs preserved (from harm, disintegration or decay) is Taqwa. But just becoming or staying preserved is not enough. The ultimate purpose is to make it grow and develop (919). This is how falah will be achieved.
An Example
You buy seeds of a crop from a seed corporation. They tell you the best method of its cultivation, maintaining, and harvesting (i.e. the best season when it should be sown, the best frequency of watering it, the best time to give the fertilizer, and the best time for harvesting). The compliance to the instructions of the seed corporation results in the preservation of seed from decay or harm from the pests and the conversion of its potentialities into actualities (, its best growth and development) .
peace.

Salaam,
Q how does monesthetic believe makes more sense then polytheisthic one
thts is who does believe in one God makes more sense then believe in multiple Gods?A Polytheism is mostly an outcome of nationalism, superiority. Every culture on earth knows the most High, the real God. The rest of all polytheistic gods/idols that they gives them superiority ideas. My god is better then your god, also a lot of polytheism resembles the politics of their nation or sect, or the order of nature. Just like a flag is a symbol of seperatism, so is polytheism, their gods a symbol of seperatism. Science itself will only accept one source of creation, because there can be only one everything. It is hard for polytheists and atheists to see the creation as one united being, everything is connected. Also polytheism is an outcome of class differences, when cultures became more developed, and there was enough food produced, a class of people emerged that didn't have to work on the land, so this is how priests and the elite emerged. Because of the split in the united society, the split in power difference, also the view of the united creation, split up in fractions. So a pantheon of powers emerged that resembled this splitted view. Because the Creator is to be seen and experienced by anyone, idols emerged that were only reachable to the elite or priests, to emphasize the class difference. That is why almost all gods/idols have human-trades. Most of their myths resemble herostories or family stories that focusses on the hierarchy in their society. This is why there is so much hate in this world, because everybody focusses on their made-up idols, instead of focussing on the one thing almost everyone agree on, the Almighty, the Everything. God All-pervading. So this is not a choice we have, from a historical, theological and scientifical view, only One Origin, One Sustainer is acceptable. Polytheism only creates an elite and division in society. This idea of elites is still present in the monotheistic views of today, being copied from polytheistic societies, having a priesthood. Now they themselves formed idols to reach God. Monotheistic people are thaught that only through the priests/scholars, through their knowledge, mercy is attained. When people finaly understand everyone can reach the true knowledge by themselves, and that God hears all, then Godwilling the class differences will disappear in society, and equality to all will prevail.
This is my mission, my dream....A lot of people think polytheism was before monotheism, but this is false, the earliest concept of man was
"The early man had little knowledge how nature worked and why, except what he himself could experience, out of this the feeling of mystery must have emerged. The feeling there is a true reality behind this life. This is how the concept of divinity, of the transcendent, a universal Good, bigger that the human and nature, a source of nurture, a ruler on destiny. This concept of power, of a Creator, in the sense of that is everything, a power of the higher and this reality must have come about. In our language it resembles the Transcendent and Immanent. If this can be seen as 1 God, as most researchers think, can not be proven of course. But it is certainly true, that in our days, with the cultures who don't use writing, and resembles early man in a lot of ways, like the use of oral tradition. That with these cultures, it is a common believe that there is only one highest god, one creator, and next to this god, they have to deal with lower spiritual beings as totems, cultural heroes, ancestors and local gods. But this god, sticks out with head and shoulders above all of these lower powers. For most it is a vague, and and incomprehensible power. That in their eyes doesn't intervene in daily life. So this is why they use their idols to ask help. When cultures grew, this aminism developed into polytheism. But in the background, this highest god always remained, although it was ignored. This faith, or rather understanding developed back in to monotheism as it is to be found in the scriptual faiths of today. So after a long route the highest power always prevailed. The concept of religion, has to be traced back in the faith of a holy power that goes beyond this universe, and supports it. It could be that this wasn't given no form, and stayed a vague term of providence, as a creating and recreating force, working in food, sex, fertility, birth, death and the changing of seasons. When this view, that this force exists, found it's own life in different aspects and functions, this developed into spirits, ghosts and idols, with each its own tasks.
It reappearing throughout the whole history of mankind. The remerging of faith in every fase of cultures and religions since prehistoric times, gives a clear indication that it is something that is a spontaneous part of man itself. It is an expression of a feeling and thinking man is born with, not so much an outcome of observation and knowledge of the universe and nature. Without a doubt did this developed into the monotheisms of today, in the God as only creator and sustainer of all things. Far from that polytheism developed into monotheism, does the evidence show that the concept and knowledge of the universe, while it grew developed different gods and powers over time, while the highest being turned into a vague figure, that didn't intervene, and was hidden in the mists of animism and polytheism and the absolutism of Hinduism and in the far east. In this sense, monotheism is the oldest concept." Gerben J.F. Bouritius Lector in the fenomology of religions and faiths of the Theological Faculty in TilburgQ . God created us and everything around , if an atheist asks us then who created God, we would say tht God is not created he has alwayz been there , but if an atheist tells tht isnt it possible for us also to be not created n just to there or our existence is only a luck
wht to tell him in this situationAn atheist believes matter has always been there, and always will be there. When they discovered the bigbang, most atheists were shocked, now they had to develop new ideas again. But they don't work, there is no theory that gives a satisfaying answer, because all show a beginning out of nothing or show that matter, or lets say creation has always been there. So you must turn the direction around at them.
Where does matter come from then? isn't your eternal matter theory exactly the same as mine eternal God theory? Isn't your matter coming out of nowhere exactly the same as mine God creator theory?
The thing is, it has nothing to do with proof, or with arguments, it has to do with making a choice. Like this Biophysicus says it in the most beautifull terms
"Believe is not only part of reason, an outcome of observation of the world around us. It is as much a decision. It demands the question if humans are even willing to consider the existence of God; it demands a submission of existence. This is shown with two quotes, one is from the believing scientist Blaise Pascal"The heart has his own reasons that the reasoning of the mind is not aware of." And the other is from the atheist philosopher Thomas Nagel"I want Atheism to be true. It is not only that i don't believe in God,i hope that there is no God! I don't want there to be a God, i don't want the universe to be like this."
This makes clear that the road to God doesn't start by rational conviction but by will, the willingness of the heart, the consideration to start looking for this road... Jezus said;"Who will look shall find".That is why the first Christians where called 'people of the Way'. And yes indeed, to taste a life with God, you cannot satisfy with philosophying alone, but you have to follow the road.." Cees Dekker BioPhysicusYou decide yourself not to see it, or to see it. It has nothing to do with proof or not, because even if a photo lays in front of you, if you decide not to see it, you will not see it. Everything in life is a choice, that is the gift from God, because if you walk against the wall, you still have the freedom, to deny the existence of the wall and keep walking into it.
Q an atheist can ask tht why doesnt ur God come in front of us wht good explaination can we give for tht
A because God is everything, if He would show Himself in a form, He would lie, because that isn't really Him, it is like your asking to see the whole sea in one tiny bottle. That is why moses couldn't see God, that is what He tried to tell him, tell us. God has no form, God is everything. This concept of a god or divinity is a misformed concept that remained in a lot of monotheistic views, that God had a form or lived somewhere out there in heaven. This is an ignorant perception of God. It is an concept that comes out of polytheism, and has nothing to do with the real monotheism.
Just like you cannot explain your feelings, you can only give a description what they do with you, you can tell the effect, but you can never tell the feeling itself. Love makes you feel warm, but try to tell me what love really is, you can't, it is bigger then words or expressions, this is the same with God.Q if an atheist asks us tht why did God create us at first place , we can tell him/her to test us then if again the atheist asks why does God wants to test us for wht ?
A out of love, so we can learn and grow. Imagine, you were nothing ones, non-thinking, and suddenly you are just there. God doesn't need us, so He did this for us. Why do you want to have children? To test them? Or to share life with them? Why do you want to stay alive? Because experiencing things is truly amazing. That is why God has to be thanked. These are such weird questions, because if they want to stay alive, but in the same time cry about being alive. When you loose the mystery of life, you made yourself only a bundle of lifeless molecules. But molecules can't think, how then are they wondering where God is? How?
"He reveals Himself in the whole order of nature and cosmos en He offers Himself on a daily basis, so the human cannot open his eyes without being forced to see Him. Certainly, His Being is not to be comprihenced and His diviness is beyond human perception. But on all His works did He leave without a doubt His signs of Gracious and did He engrave them so clear and present, that even unlitterate and ignorant people have no argument in not knowing Him." Calvin Theologist and Humanist
"You want to see God? Do you need a torch to see the sun?"

Peace,
TayI get your point Tay. But there's one more thing that needs to be highlighted. Of course, everyone must be allowed to speak their minds, atheists or not. And it's also important not to put people in "little boxes" because only God is entitled to make such judgments.
However, coming to the aspect of personal relationships between individuals, compatibility is a very important factor that brings people closer emotionally, sentimentally, intellectually and practically .. there's little doubt about that. Also, faith or the absence of faith is an important issue for a believer / atheist respectively. Therefore, if one believes and the other doesn't, despite their best efforts to become buddies, there's bound to be a certain length of distance between them that might never lessen unless one of them changes and embraces the values of the other. This is simply a human trait .. like it or not.
Hence, just as it is considered important for a believer to let go of their preconceptions while talking to an atheist, it's just as important for an atheist to keep the same in mind .. which they often don't either.
Salaam / Peace
