    Peace bmbmm,

People in Pakistan talk about ?guru Nanak? with due respect. I too have heard about this episode along with many others, what is conveyed through this episode is that God is not confined in the walls of kaaba, God is everywhere. There is also this popular belief that at the time of his funeral, a dispute erupted between the Muslims, Hindus and the Sikhs as to how his funeral rites should be performed? So popular was this man that they all claimed him to be one of them. There is also this belief that in the end his dead body disappeared. All this is oral tradition and I am not sure of its authenticity? But this is a fact; people here in Punjab respect him a lot.
The foundation stone of darbar sahib was laid by a Muslim Sufi of Lahore, Mian Mir Sahib.. So you see there was a lot of interfaith harmony here in the past .

    Peace.

Yeh bro the british screwed your country as they did with my country

we are the victims of the west bro

    peace

      Salam Ahmed,

Yes they did. Pakistani still think that the country was formed for good. For Islam, however Iidia has been a Muslim country for 900 years which they are so blind that they can't see. We need the reunification of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

      Peace

I agree brother, but i think it will be unfair to lay all the blame on the west only, our own differences/Weaknesses/corrupt leadership has also been a big factor.

              peace.

                no problem brother )

                To Muslims the Guru said

                Make compassion your mosque,
                Faith your prayer mat,
                Make honest living your scripture,
                Let modesty rule your conduct,
                Let piety be your fasts,
Let right conduct be the Ka'aba,
                Truth your Prophet,
Make the Lord's Will your rosary.
In such a way become a Muslim.

                To Hindus he advised
(referring to the holy thread worn by Hindus)

                From the cotton of compassion,
                Spin the thread of contentment,
                Tying the knot of continence,
Give it the twist of virtue,
Such a sacred thread, O Wiseman,
                Fabricate for your inner self.

                peace.

When Guru Nanak stopped at Hardwar a pilgrimage center on the Ganges river he found a large gathering of devotees. They were taking ritual baths in the holy river and offering water to the sun. When the Guru asked "Why do you throw water like that?" The pilgrims replied that they were offering it to their ancestors. Guru Nanak upon hearing this started throwing water in the opposite direction towards the west. When the pilgrims asked him what he was doing?. Guru Nanak replied "I am sending water to my farm which is dry". They asked, "How will water reach you crops so far away?". Guru Nanak replied, "If your water can reach your ancestors in the region of the sun, why can't mine reach my fields a short distance away?" The pilgrims realized their folly and fell at the Gurus feet.
