Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Manat

Peace bmbmm and all. Muhammed sheik(from the ipc centre.) stated in a video that that the three you mentioned were parts of human desire which could be misused and idolised. Al-lat=maybe( too many ifs and buts.). Al-uzza=honour(or excess pride.). Al-mannat=desire.(in excess.) I believe he makes valid points. He deciphers the terms from the arabic.(well normally he does.) You can see all these three in the real current world, and they would have been valid in the prophets time as well.
Peace all. -

Peace all.Hmmm.... think of those definitions, isn't there a serious problem with at least two of those in many parts of the "Muslim" world. First there is the word "isha'allah" which has become to mean more like "if I feel like it" or "it they feel like it" as opposed to "if God wills it", so basically it has become not an acknowledgement that God has power over everything, but rather as an escape clause if one doesn't feel like doing what he should.
Second is honour... with honour killings and the like. People just have too much pride, and then attribute their pride to Islam, claiming that honour killings are a part of the straight path of Islam. -

Allat, almannat and aluzzah were pagan Arab (pre-Islamic) goddesses worshipped for their beauty, strength, honor, desire, etc. They were deemed as daughters of Allah (the cheif god), statues erected and idol-worshipped. Allah is masculine and Allat is feminine.
