Anyone interested in the nature of G-d knows that the sensation thereof is a relative one and beyond something that a book can ever speak of. This is a phenomena that the Koran also denotes.
Even the persian word for G-d (wich actuaally might explain the word's origin) emphasizes the self and no relation between man and superpower at the top of the ladder. Khod-? is "itself".
My experience of the Lord is something I can write about whilst it is nearly impossible to mediate 100% this experience to someone else by may it be pictures, words, spoken language etc...
G-d has caused many great individuals to write about it, and to write about others who have had this experience. Though we can never fully grasp what G-d is but on our own. To comprehend others' vision is simply not to see it by yourself. Nor is to read a recipe never actually to eat the dish, or watching an image of a fruit is not actualy touching it.
Seek G-d with the help of others, meet G-d yourself
and may you whoever reads this be blessed with holy love!

Peace all. Just wanted to bump up this interesting thread...Food for thought...

Peace Al-Aziz
I couldn't have said it better myself! Excellent post. Since the totality of God is so difficult to grasp, we each see slightly different facets of Him. I would also add that this image of God in each of our perceptions evolves through time in tandum with our life experiences and knowledge - while God is Everlasting, does not change.
Peace and Blessings to you too!

Why do some people online spell God as G-D, Just curious
God bless
God is the Greatest.

As I understand it, the Jewish faith does not say the word God out of respect. I may be wrong.

I am currently reading a book called "How To Know God" by Deepak Chopra. IMO It is thought provoking and makes you see god from a different angle.
The book aint aimed at any particular religion however Deepak does quote from the Bible quite a bit and I think the guy is a Sikh him self.
Most of Deepaks books are criticized for sounding like fairy stories but this one is a good read, even if it is slightly blasphemous from an Islamic point of view at some points.
The book contains 'scientific information' but coz i'm crap at science i have no idea if it's all 'pseudoscience'.
He has been highly praised by a number of people for this book.

...
Because of many things, but most important do we (as jews, being the G-d shmoks) not want the name of G-d to be misused. Leonardo da Vinci did similar things sometimes with his inventions, creating something in the drawings making the invention useless.
Also, in the Tor?, the name (also known as hashem) is not spelled out with the vowel signs (niqud) and is usually transcribed when translated as y-h-v-h.
Among most jews, this is not common. It is mainly the minority of orthodox jews that don't spell out G-d.
Moreover, it reminds me that there's no such thing as a real "name of G-d".

Oh yes, you're absolutely spot on! We have made fun of ourselves for the last 3000 years and we mock by some of us don't write the name of G-d. Can you believe what hilarious things we come up with and our believers still call themselves monotheists!? rotfl
One thing... When you write "sal?m" after the very sentence where you showed someone a severe lack of respect, do you feel seriously peaceful with that word, is it that you can hug someone like your brother having just spat on a person the very preceding moment? Does this make you feel proud and peaceful, not to mention "sal?m-ely" credible in the eyes of others? Just give it a thought, will you...
I wish all people could show each other as much love and understanding as you, Ahmed Baghat, show disrespect - then this world would be a beautiful one to live in.

Jews call God G-d.
Some Christians insist on YHWH.
Recently some Indonesians started using 4JJI to write 'Allah' in emails, SMS, and internet posts. Probably in an attempt to differ from local Christians, who also use 'Allah' for God.
Just as long as we refer to the same entity.

ntence where you showed someone a severe lack of respect, do you feel seriously peaceful with that word,of course not neither i mean peace to anyone that i have no problem with, Salam for me is a mere greating, it just happnes to have the same letters as peace
is it that you can hug someone like your brother having just spat on a person the very preceding moment?
why not?, everyone should be dealt accordingly, so I will spit on the perverts then i will hug my brother, but if my brother is a pervert then i will spit on him too,
Does this make you feel proud
it does
and peaceful,
no it does not
not to mention "sal?m-ely" credible in the eyes of others? Just give it a thought, will you...
i don't know what is sal?m-ely
I wish all people could show each other as much love and understanding as you, Ahmed Baghat, show disrespect
the above does not make sense, it means they too don't show respect, LOL because it was a wish on your behalf, thanks for the laugh

la elaha ella Allah ...
Relax please all.
In regards to Christians calling God Allah, Allah is the Arabic word for God so Arabic speaking Christians, Muslims and Jews would use the word Allah. Although the more preferred term is RAB (Lord) for Arab Christians, which is also what we use so no difference. That's very interesting that Indonesian Christians use Allah as well! Perhaps they were converted by Arab Christian missionaries? Do you know? Just curiousInteresting also how Muslim Indonesians came up with that... that spells Allah in arabic in a weird way
El-Aziz I think I speak for all, even AhmedBahgat when I say all monotheists are most welcome to this website - so welcome. I think you two misunderstood each other somehow. start over lol

Indonesian Christians call GOD Allah, use the word 'Jema?t' for Congregation and 'al-Kitab' for the Bible. The Early Indonesian Christians were Converted by First ...The Portugeese , The Spanish , Dutch and English Colonialists and their Missionaries.
The Arab Merchants/ Refugees Gave Indonesia Sunnism and wahabism

Prior to the Advent of Islam and Christianity, Indonesia ( as we know it now) were largely Hindus and Animists. The earliest Credible Record of Islam in the Archipelago was no more than 600 years old.....The Javenese People to this day still Use Sangskrete Names as The Indians eventhough they are Nominally Muslims.
You may be surprised to find Out that Qur?n/ God Alone Muslims in Indonesia Predated Rashad Khalifa and Free-Mind by a few Hundred Years. I never Knew about other Hadiths apart from the Qur?n. We have always Called the Qur?n Hadiths ( as one of the many names of The Qur?n). I became aware about The Other Hadiths in my Twenties......and the 5 Times a Day Salat were never Compulsory in our Community.
Cheers
