Hunting Dogs.

Does anyone remember the verse that talks about the hunting dog that fetches the prey for you?? I want to prove to a Sistani-worshipping Shiite that the Dog is not "haram" in Islam, and that its saliva is not "najas".
I'm sure there is a verse that mentions the hunting dog, but I can't seem to recall it.

54 mentions trained hunting animals in the translation and there is the story of the sleepers in the cave in sura 18 that mentions the sleepers and their (pet?) dog.
