Vegetarians and Halal
-
As Salaam Alaikum,
INteresting... but i don't think that I have time to really read on the issue and search up on it...
I think I may go vegeterian just to try though.. who knows.
Edit
I was reading through the site and I haven't come across anything that supports what they are saying. Much of the things are supported only by haidths... not Quran.
Do they give an analysis of what is pure and what is unclean according to Quran?

I am personally a vegetarian by choice, not eating any meat... though I do partake in part of the crimes by still using dairy products, though I do buy free-run eggs when possible and try to go organic, again when possible.
That said, if it comes down to either me starving to death or killing an animal to feed myself, then the animal is going to die. -
Peace All,
Who's to say that lean meat is not tayyib??
I agree that the hormones and chemicals, etc, certainly go against the natural processes. Organic is the way to go. But even in that, how can you be sure if something really is organic?I used to read a fitness magazine that did it's own studies on protien bars back when they weren't quite as trendy as today. It turned out many of them were frauds, not containing nearly the amounts of proteins that the labels suggested. One popular bar in particular actually had more fat and sugar than a Snicker's bar!!
But, I agree with Omari in that eating healthy is pretty damn expensive. It's a luxury.

But, I agree with Omari in that eating healthy is pretty damn expensive. It's a luxury.
Do you think that is by chance? that food that makes you sick, and turn you into a drooling moron like KFC, McD, supermarked crap is cheaper than dirt, where healthy food and brain food is pricetaged only for elites?
It is more expensive for me to buy tomatoes, onions, peper, cremcheese and veggie boullion, than it is to buy a kg of a dish that claims to contain these things, but when you look at the label it contains no actual veggies, but aromas.
There IS NO SUCH THING AS ORGANIC FOOD. Our world is so poisoned that it is merely an illsionary tag, that makes people feel a little better about themself. Organic food means that poison has not been aimed directly at it (but the plants both have the roots in the same dirty water). If you want organic food you need to grow it in a biodome.
Im an omnivore as pr. my design. but im mostly on a purely vegan diet, due to the frankenfood corporations that deliberately try to poison me and mine. I will eat meat, and animal products given i know their origin and how they where treated.
No food produced by the frankenfood industry is to be concidered halal. How can we?, these people claim to be better at design and maintanance than God allmighty. Most crops today is of a kind of korn that has a suicide gene build in, courtesy of the monsatan coorporation, that means that it will only grow for a season, then you have to buy new korn to plant.
what long term effect will this have on us? God didnt build in a suiceide gene for some reason, maybe he forgot? or perhaps its time for us to really think deep about what the hell were doing [

Peace be upon you,
Why is it that herbivores all eat food the same way, meaning they can take an apple and bite right into it. However, with carnivores, it is almost the same with one exception, the human. The human takes his meat and must tenderize it by cooking. Why is that? Is there a clue in this in regards to what we are created to eat? It seems the only raw meat that is eaten by humans is fish.

Salaam,
Yes, this is very interresting. For one, cooking neatralizes a lot of poisons in lots of vegatables and kills germs in meats, and the diet of the early man, certainly didn't consist only out of plants, because he wouldn't have the means back then to gather that all. The first vegaterians came about when farming was normal in societies and made a only plant-diet possible, because now man produced enough to fill the energy-gap of the not-eaten meat. So being a vegaterian is not part of your normal metabolism, and is a trend developed in high-cultures that produced enough vegatables and plants to replace meat.
There are a lot of pro's and against's, a total vegaterian diet and raw food. But it was not part of our normal diet, so our bodies are not meant for this diet. But also how we eat now, is worse then a veggie diet. We overcook our food, destroying all proteines and vitamines. Eating genetic-altered meat. So what i do in life is keep the middle path. Don't overcook my food and don't eat to much meat, and make sure that i know where it came from.
Keep the balance people, that is the best....

Peace be upon you arnoldyasin,
So being a vegaterian is not part of your normal metabolism
I am still unsure of that, for example, why does meat stay so long in our system? Why are there not the chemicals to break them down like in other meat eaters? Also, why dont we have the same type of teeth or claws on our hands?
Why dont we salivate at a freshly killed animal still bleeding?
Regarding the time before farming, if there was ever such a time, why couldnt man imitate the same thing that herbivores of the animal kingdom were doing? Why is the only option to eat animals?
I myself do eat meat, but trying to become vegetarian. Either way, I want to know the truth about it.

If you feed a herbivore meat, it will get sick. we are omniwores, this means that wre both and neither at the same time. We can survive on what is in our path. There will be more greens avaible in our path, thus this is our main dish. But we can get usefull proteines out of meat aswell. To me this represents the logical balance of our diet, if we didnt mistreat animals like that. I have been doing extreme sport, and without meat it wouldnt have been possible to work out like that.
I will admit however, that when i have been on veggie diet for a long time, and i eat meat. my stomache gets really dodgy. Due to the diet i have, i can eat a dish of baked beans and cabbage and not even feel a distrubance in my stomache, but when i eat meat, i have to hold on to the chair if i want to stay on the ground.

Like with most things, the middle path and moderation are probably best. Like others have mentioned, we are omnivores. There is no way to get around that. And the fact that we don't "salivate when we see an animal bleeding," for example, doesn't mean much. There are different types of carnivores. Scavengers, for example, are carnivores and they don't have the commonly assumed features of carnivores.
Our bodies are designed to consume both plant life and animal life. For example, look at our teeth our premolars and bicuspid. They are inherently omnivore, designed to grind vegetables and slice through meat.

Peace all,
I See three ways in this discussion
1- First the discussion of our natural history and how our ancestors behaved and other like species. ( having sex for example, other animals have, our ancestors also and so do we)
2- Secondly, what would be JUST and ALLOWED for us to do , in the sense of giving recognition to justice. (for example you can kill somebody which have killed your child).
3- Third, what if we decide to ascend tha natural behavior (for example trying to survive is natural but what if I become ready to die in the fight for rescuing the life of other people or you decide to forgive someone who has killed your child). These I consider divine. They transcend the natural and the just.
I see the discussion of eating and what we eat in all three parallels.
I am not quite sure if I have chosen the best examples to convey the idea.
