OK, so I got an email giving me the new address, which worked yesterday. Today it didn't work and I had to access the forum from the home page again. I take it the address is back to "forum" and no longer "forum2" in the URL? I just need to know which we're sticking with so I can update my bookmarks.
Also, what's the deal with the stars under the member names. Yesterday I had none, today I have one. Who do I have to take out to dinner to earn me another star?? I'll make it Peter Luger's Steakhouse in NYC if I can get like some cool looking shooting star or something.

TayMe!me!me!... I'm steak!insert drool emoticon here Actually couldn't help you out right now... yesterday I was a 'newbie' (wats up with that?). But I must say - the transition went much smoother than I thought it would! ;D (I had nothing to do with it) and we're progressing pretty well. So I'm sure it won't be long before you get atleast another star or a teddy bear or something... you know what they say about patience!

The more posts you make, the more stars you should have.
The default setting is
1 stars 0-49 posts
2 stars 50-99 posts
3 stars 100-249
4 stars 250-499
5 stars 500 and overAdmins can manage these values here http//www.free-minds.org/forum/index.php?action=membergroups;
But It's strange that all of us have only one star. Someone with admin access should click here

Recount all forum totals and statistics.Maybe that will fix it. I don't know.

Thanks for the explanation bro. Hopefully Layth or Zenje can do something about it. Oh, do you know just which font types exactly that I can choose when writing posts?
Speaking of stars, we should be able to create ranks, do we not? I mean, 1 star is a Newbie, 2 star is a Regular, and so on. Maybe it will be fun to have ranks based on the number of posts we have. ;D

I second (or is that third?) the powers that be to change our stars to what they should be. After all, it took hard work and newbies shouldn't get all the rewards, especially when we see some posting like the devil's after them! It's not fair '(

Zenje, I was only joking about the star thingy, but the steak dinner offer still stands if you ever make it out here to the East Coast. Have you ever been to NYC??
Speaking of which, I think the time is right for a little convention/meeting. We need to gather the troops and see what kind of energy we can muster. I envision a hotel type thing, where we can all get together, see each other, babble, take pics and post 'em on the forum, maybe have a speaker or 2. What say you??

Salaam all,
I was wondering whether broken links in all previous posts (from the old forum) can be mended? Those links, right now, lead to nowhere. Is there anything we can do to fix it? Perhaps some members, like me, wish to re-read old threads and if they happen to find a link, they will be a lot happier if it really works. ;D

But, for other members to see the fonts, they must also have the font you're using.You can check what fonts you have installed by clicking star -> run -> C\WINDOWS\Fonts

Yes, admins can. Under member management in admin-panel, click "add".

Heh it's true though! I would love to be part of the hotel experience...don't you guys have a convention of sorts without me! I want to be there and I want the steak with mashed potatoes on the side. I would of course settle for the pictures but not without much heartache.

Never been to the big apple... and I doubt I'll be venturing that way anytime soon. I dunno, I just figure it's not a place you want to drag a 3 and 6 year old around. For some reason I've never had the 'urge' to go to New York... not sure why that is, I haven't found something to draw me in there I guess. Having said that I still would like to visit all of northeast including MA and ME. The invite to CO stills stands as well. ;D
The convention thing sounds too good to actually happen, sadly enough. Don't mean to be a party pooper, but I think we're too few and far in between. That's why the only convention I see happening is online. But then again, if Wakas builds it, I will be there! ;D

Zenje, if you can't think of a reason to bring the kids to the city, then you haven't been on this planet recently. Here's a few trips for starters Museum of Natural History, The Met, The Bronx Zoo (I just went...it's freakin awesome), Central Park Zoo, The Museum of Television, The Blue Man Group (Fantastic), Cirque de Soleil, just to name a few, and in my beautiful Jersey, less than an hour away from the city, we have Six Flags/Great Adventure boasting Kingda Ka, the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster!
Need I say more?
And I will take you up on the Colorado trip. Hopefully sooner than later. Are you close to any roaring rapid rides?

That is an interesting way of putting it seeing as how I mentioned steak and all D But stand-up?!? No way, I'd probably be petrified on stage with a cheesy grin on my face...my bro though is into it and quite successful too, he's like a born performer.

Firstly, I appreciate your efforts in running the forum, and I think a new forum is probably for the best in the long run. The main problem with the previous forum may have been security but your host not backing up daily didn't help!
The only problem I have with the change is that as far as I'm aware, links on webpages pointing to threads in the previous forum do not work anymore. This is unfortunate as I (and no doubt other members) have used these links in discussions/articles/posts on other forums etc.
Can this be corrected?
