Attention All !

Hello all,
As the free-minds is having a lot of people from different thinkings. Also there are a lot of people who deny the need of Quran and/or deny that it is word of God. So it is a must for all people to abstractly add some key sentences to their signature, about their thinking, so that a person replying can understand if the other person is muslim or not, and if he is quran only or sunni or whatever.
The suggested format of the signature sentences may be
1- I am a muslim/christian/atheist/.......
2- I believe quran is absolutely needed and is word of god. OR I dont belive quran is word of god but I dont need OR I dont believe quran is word of god and I dont need it.
3- I am QuranOnly/Sunni... Muslim
4- Orientation or place of living (Required to assess the cultural aspects of a person's thinking, its very important.)I request the administrator to make it a rule because it is very essential to keep the people on track.
Sincerely,
VirtualEye -
Why do you think this is necessary?

Why do you think this is necessary?
I gave the reason at the start first and then asked for it. I think there are some knots in your brain, that you dont see what I said.

Peace,
People are known by what they speak and do...Not by labels that we carry or signatures.
This forum is a replication of real life where people do not carry a sticker or badge telling you what they believe...You need to converse or read peoples writings and you will come to know where they stand.
"Or did those who harbour a disease in their hearts think that God would not bring out their evil thoughts? And if We wished, We would show them to you so you would recognize them by their looks. However, you can recognize them by their speech. And God is fully aware of your works." (4729-30)

Its not a sticker but the witness if they are muslim or not muslim. Its the summary of thier belief...
Consider if I put a lot of effort to give reference from quran,,,then the person say "oh, I dont believe in quran"....that means I was wasting my time collecting refereces...
So if I know about the person that he does not believe in quran then I will deal with him at that level. -

Whoa, chill! Would including that 'disclaimer' affect your willingness to answer, or something like that?
Let's try with my example.
1-I am a muslim.
2-I believe the original Arabic text of Qur'an is the word of god.
3-I like to think of myself as a 'hadith-skeptic'. I accept the original Arabic text of the Qur'an as authority. I reject any hadith that contradict any verse in the Qur'an. Any hadith other than those contradicting the Qur'an I can tolerate.
4-I live in Indonesia. And some more extra disclaimer
5-I don't take any translation as a perfect rendition of the original Arabic text. I can read Arabic and can translate it a little, and my preferred interpretation method is to translate words in the Qur'an by their usage in the Qur'an only, and I try to be as literal as possible, eschewing any attempt to 'find hidden meanings' or 'reading between the lines'. I believe God's word should be taken at face value
6-I don't believe that Islam has a priest class like Judaism or Christianity. If you see that lengthey disclaimer while discussing something with me, how would it affect you, then?

Then I will confidently give references from quran, thinking that you at least believe in quran to be word of god and I will not give you references related to ahadith much.
AND I will be confident that you accept the need of quran,,,,,instaed of bieng confused that at the end of my effort of big reply, you just say I think quran is work of Muhammad(SAW).this is what I mean.

i dont get it. lets play with the thought that the quran was written by mohammad, and another that it fell out of the skym and a third that it was ritten down on random items found, what difference excactly does thatmake what people believe? does the text change suddenly? "oh i can quote quran for you as you belive mohammad wrote it, so my version would properbly explode or something"....ghah )

4- Orientation or place of living (Required to assess the cultural aspects of a person's thinking, its very important.)The above reads like the religion column in passports...I hate that immensely. Secondly, what if a person is pretending? Thirdly, questions like orientation should involve them being gay/lesbian or not, otherwise it's useless and uninteresting to me. Fourthly, 'place of living to know cultural aspects of a person's thinking' is flawed because it could be an American living in Kuwait. It would have to be a two parter and even more inane then.

Fair enough. And I now understand where you're coming from. Myself, I don't have any problems with your request to include such disclaimers, although I don't like the idea to put it in sigs . Maybe you can start a 'disclaimers' thread and ask people to explicitly state their positions there . Then again, not everyone would want to state their positions.

Peace All
If I add a signature statting who and what my belifes are and and later as I go through my educational process change my mind and think differently will I be killed for it .
There are religions out there who have followers who would be prepared to kill you for thinking differently or changing your thought pattern. Traditional Islam comes to mind.
I might think I am a muslim otheres could believe I am a kafir who decides ???
Signature and labelling mean nothing because thats all they are .signature or label can not tell what type of person you are or could be.
Peace Salim

Peace,
The thing is virtual, then you label people, you should give the same effort to everyone, no effort is wasted if it is done with pure intentions. But one thing bothers me is, we asked you a lot of questions, i myself posted a long post asking you questions. You haven't answered me......So did i waste time on you then? Isn't that even worse, it wasn't even that eventualy you said; o, i don't follow hadith. No, you keep defending your point of view, keep posting everywhere on this forum, without really answering. This is hypocrite and shows blindness, even worse now with this labeling-demand of yours. Please watch yourself for this, it brings down your charachter....

I am a human being, I try my best to answer the questions, but when there are multiple people then I can just give a couple of hours to answer or so.
Secondly, I asked for the summery of same thoughts which a person expresses time by time on the forum, so if a person shows his thoughts on discussion then what is the problem with him to mention in signature.
Thirdly, What is wrong if a person already know who he is talking to....a denyer or quran, a Believer of Quran, A Hindu, christian or whatever.....................Certainly I will have to answer according my assessment about him,,,if he says that he totally rejects quran,,,,then I dont need to discuss the meanings of something in quran,,but I will discuss him why does he reject or accept.
We can know the origin of one person's thoughts, but when there are dozen types of conflicting views by dozen type of members on same topic, then it is essential to atleast know what is each person's belief about Islam,,,Means if he accepts quran or if he rejects or he is someone else came to know about Islam.
