    Salam folks,

My short intro, I am a muslim born in sunni family which i am proud off.

How I came to this place ) well I was looking for information on halal n haram food. Cos my personal understanding on the issue was, animal killed or slaughterd with or without Allah oAkber is okey, as far as one recite Bismillah before eating. But nobody agreed with me. I had a feeling that theres something wrong about slaughtering rules or maybe wrong understanding.
Anyway I read here and there and there for about a year, then I clicked some where and free-mind.org appeared. I was looking for halal/haram but here I found a different world, very small but excellet and I have learned much here than anyother place.

I read quite some articles and posts before joining this place. I must say that I dont consider myself sunni or ex-sunni or God alone follower. I am a Muslim and hope to die as believer called muslim.

English is my 2nd language and I hope you people will forgive my mistakes and understand me.

    )

        Peace and welcome InSearchOf

Keep reading, keep asking God for guidance as we all do, and keep reflecting.

Also, I know it was a while ago but in case you were still wondering about the halaal/haram food topic, there's a decent thread about it here http//www.free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=5562.0

        Peace.

            Salam Rifat,

Maybe you misunderstood me, because thats not what I exactly said. I am proud of my family and the values it has tought me. if they title shia/sunni or whtever it has no effect.

shia/sunni/god aloner/ahmediyat/etc. Is there any group better than the other. Are all shia crazy or sunni wrong or god aloner right or ahmediyat outofworld ??
NEI life isnt that simple. Different groups, different peoples, differnt cultures, different circumstances and different understandings.

            1. what you think in folowing sunnah?

Sunnah if I am not wrong means 'wisdom'. And to follow wisdom is being wise and to be wise one needs to ponder and learn by useing eyes/ear/mind, isnt this what Allah told us.

            1. Eid-ul-fitr/adha? traditional islam

Traditional Islam? 'tradition' you talking about is rooted into cultures not Islam. Eid/xmas/etc., I have nothing against it since atleast people stand together remember God, try to do good deeds and are happy.

            1. what about salat?

Prophets Abraham...Mohammed even BIRDS know their salat. Some here pray 2times, some 3times, some 5times, some dont like prostrating, some do and so on, its a matter of understanding. I dont mind praying in a mosque.
It happend couple of times by chance I was in a church, I prayed there. HOW?
I lighted a candle there as others were doing, stood there recite Al-Hamd (since its of the few suras I know by heart) asked God whtever I wanted and tht was it.

Now will you title me for this?

Instead of questioning others and their beliefs and being cornered, I would prefer to learn and be an exampliry example for others so they learn. Else to lable someone is easy but has very little or no benifit.

Maybe you didnt read this in my 1st post 'I must say that I dont consider myself sunni or ex-sunni or God alone follower. I am a Muslim and hope to die as believer called muslim.'

            May Allah be with you!

it is a part of me that wants to learn about others so i could see if at least i would reflect upon myself if i were in that situation. kapish

what is your definition of a muslim or islam?

And the purpose of the 'God alone' movement is the forbiddance of all sects, to go back to the roots, to go back to the Quran.

Anyways, I hope you learn whatever u need to learn here (God willing) and God bless !

                        Peace folks, ik75243

what is your definition of a muslim or islam?

And the purpose of the 'God alone' movement is the forbiddance of all sects, to go back to the roots, to go back to the Quran.

wao! big questions for novoice like me )

I dont compare Islam with Christianity or Jewism. Ithink captalism / imperialism these are rivals to islam.

'Defination of muslim' maybe you can helpme with this.

'And the purpose of the 'God alone' movement is the forbiddance of all sects, to go back to the roots, to go back to the Quran'

Do you think this is the 1st movement? Its going on and on since the very beginning. Many ppl from different civilizations spent their whole life, trying teaching the truth and their understandings.

Theres alot lot wisdom and knowledge on this board and many honest/sincere folks here. Also 1st thing I learned here is not to accept anything without pondering / reasoning / verifing.
Since I just left an ocean theres no point of jumping in a pool.

Anyway thanks, may Allah be with you!

A belated peace, and welcome "InSearchOf"

                            You mentioned

I have a similar understanding for reasons I will divulge later. Could you explain what this recitation accomplishes?

                              i do too

To me What the recitation accomplishes is we are dedicating our every moment to God. Since God is our King, Our Lord.

                              Based on this verse

6162 Say "My bond, and my offerings, and my life, and my death, are all to God the Lord of the worlds."

would love to hear your take (or anyone else's) as well.

                              God Bless

It has to do with "The Hidden Messages in Water". I'll explain more once I've verified a few things. In the meantime, it's a great little book, if you haven't already read it.

It's not complex at all bro. The bottom line is, this guy found that positive words formed beautiful, symmetrical ice crystals and negative words hardly formed crystals at all - often a soupy mess of deformation. I'm no scientist, but I'm gonna try one of his layman experiments for myself and see what happens. I'll keep you posted.

                                        Peace folks, Tay,

Could you explain what this recitation accomplishes?

What I understand when I recite 'bismillah' before anything is 'I start in/with the name of Allah...'

                                        1. It helps remember Allah
                                        2. One will atleast think before doing anything wrong after saying that.

You can explain me more brother.
