This above verse is repeated many times in Sura 54 (5417, 5422, 5432 & 5440).
Contrary to what is taught by the scholars and others that the Quran is difficult, our Creator and the Author of the Quran states otherwise - "We made the Quran easy to learn. Does any of you wish to learn?"
I started following the Quran ALONE last year when I discovered www.submission.org I had been following practically everything on the site until a few weeks ago when I read one of Edip Yuksels thought provoking articles. I was really annoyed to hear the fact that submission.org hid the fact that Rashad did not interpret the Quran all by him self and that submission.org intentionally removed the names of the people who had helped him interpret the Quran, I was lead to believe that his translation was practically perfect so I always took it literally. I only questioned the accuracy of his translation when submission.org edited a couple of verses of his translation of the Quran.
So I have spent the past few weeks reading articles on other Islamic sites (that follow the Quran ALONE of course) and consequently my beliefs about Islam have changed a lot. (I found www.quran-islam.org a VERY good site. )
I recently started comparing many translations of the Quran. I always thought the differences between the translation would only be minute amongst Muslims that followed the Quran ALONE, but just one word of the interpretation can change the whole meaning of the verse.
I have considered learning Arabic my self but I really don?t have the time and after work I feel too tired to do anything and find it hard to concentrate on anything. Besides I am useless at languages (I have virtually forgotten my mother tongue, I dropped foreign languages at school and my English is pretty crap too lol). And with Arabic having many ?multiple-meaning words? (lol someone told me one word can have up to a 1000 meanings ;D ) and I heard that the grammar was really complicated too, so there is no way I would be able to grasp the language. Besides I also read in one of the verses that language is irrelevant.
I?ve thought about reading every translation of the Quran out there, and verse by verse choose the verse that sounds the most accurate and follow that one, but I don?t have the time for that and I will probably would end up following the least accurate translation. -[
There are so many translations of the Quran with numerous errors, I don?t believe there?s anyone out there that can grasp the WHOLE Quran and interpret it correctly.
My question is that why did God say ?We made the Quran easy to learn. Does any of you wish to learn?? When so many people have interpreted it incorrectly and still cannot grasp it after years and years of studying?

The translations of the Muslims who follow the Quran ALONE that I have come across so far say ?we made the Quran easy?, and the translation that say ?easy to learn? appear to be written by translators that also follow Hadith and Sunnah. -\ ???

"Wa Laqad Yasarnna AL Quran Le ALZIKR, Fa Hal Min Mudakir"
Al Zikr means Rememberance and
Mudakir means the one who remembers

So AB is right and wrong. It means both.....And welcome to the forum sugar. I myself believe in the 19-pattern, but i follow the Quran alone, and no law besides it. Thank God, He guided you. The code doesn't explain, it only can be used to show it is protected, nothing more, nothing less.

Well I?ll just rephrase my original question, why did God make the Quran SO difficult to learn when he knew that
to test both the belivers and the non believers, however the ones who are sincere to follow the message, Allah will help them to comprehend the message and this is done on ONE by ONE basis not a global thing to all humanity, in fact the ones who careless about the message, Allah will make it even harder on them in understand "dumb, deaf and blind"?
- Most of us don?t have enough time to study it
For the Quran, I always do, even if I don't, I just have to make the time for it and give it high priority
- Most of us would not know Arabic
if you are sincere, Allah will make you find and understand the best translation, but you also may have to opportunity to check with a sincere arabic speaker that you can trust
- Most people would abandoned the Quran and follow hadith and sunnah instead

i believe whenever u come across a problem we should remember that God doesn't advocate sin, and that it's my sincere belief that God only forbids things for us to protect us (remember God is in no need; Praiseworthy) And to put us in the best position to be rewarded in the here-after. I truly believe everything is there for a reason; A lot of which none of us understand yet.
And I believe Quran is easy to learn, you just have to work at it. Arabic is my second language (can only read) but i have managed to find answers even as a non-arabic speaker.

Firstly, welcome to the forum.
You ask some nice questions.
Perhaps I can add some points to consider.
- Most of us don?t have enough time to study it
Is to know/understand 'al quran' a necessity? When you give soemone an important responsibility, would you prefer them to give up if they realise the task is too great or do what they can?
- Most of us would not know Arabic
If the signs/ayatin are in the horizons and within ourselves as well as in 'al quran', is Arabic the be all and end all? If the creation is a manifestation of the truth, science can be a tool to the truth. Just like Arabic is to 'al quran'.
- Most people would abandoned the Quran and follow hadith and sunnah instead
Do you find that most people you meet are active in searching for the truth? The history of mankind tends to repeat itself, so it may be worthwhile studying all past examples in 'al quran' to see how things turn out.
- Instead of learning the Quran people would just rely on scholars/one of the four madhhabs that decree laws outside the Quran, subsequently costing your salvation
And therein lies the test. This life is a distinguishing mechanism. Only an illogical/unappreciative person would not read the book God sent for them (if one believes it to be the Word of God that is, which I assume most Muslims do).

When you have a difference with someone, that difference and how you respond to it, tends to highlight the person you are. Unity tends not to do that. Having unity is over-rated in my opinion, what I like is the mindset of seeking unity. Just like the way I see the truth, having it is nice for sure, but to seek it is truly beautiful to me.
For example, when 'al quran' says to hold tight to the rope of God, all of us together , I take one aspect of the metaphor to mean one has to continually keep a hold/grip in order to succeed.

When so many people have interpreted it incorrectly and still cannot grasp it after years and years of studying?
It is said 'remember this...remember that' throughout the reading, sometimes from different vantage points, ahadeeth are given to highlight the injunctions. I think, because this is my own experience, people do not grasp the reading due to the fact that they are only grasping at a theoretical knowledge of it. It is said, 'the proof is in the pudding'. Taste it, experience the reading, this is the key.
When Moses met the man on his journey his theoretical know-how could not help him in what experience taught. God works in ways we do not understand, all for the good, though sometimes thought by us to be unfair, evil, et cetera. Experience will unlock that which theoretical knowledge will not open.

Also because people for ages approached the Quran wrong, see 1746. People throw veils on their understanding, and are thus blocked from seeing the whole picture, we are still removing veil by veil, and have a long way. That happened also with Rashad, he was the first to approach the Quran from a God alone point of view, so he lost a lot of veils through that, but because he still stuck to certain understandings, he couldn't see the whole picture, and by thus translated some verses totaly wrong.
The prophet will say "O my Lord, my people had fettered/chained/fixed its position the Qur'an." (2530)(A horse or camel tied head to foot was called mahjoor, and the rope used for tying, al-hijaar(Taj). Making the animal immobile, as it stuck in its position, where the owners will leave it. The Quran today is thus fettered/chained by custom and tradition, fixed titles and meanings of words, hearsay reports compiled centuries later, and laws and by-laws enacted by men, each group having its own fiqah and shariah, which are held more sacrosanct and given predence over the Quran, and making thus the Quran fixed in meaning, where they want, and how they want. Making the versatile meanings immobile, freezing a certain meaning, and chaining the Quran with that meaning.)
We have immobilized the Quran by holding on to certain understandings of words or subjects in the Quran, and by thus blocking our understanding. We are only half way of being freed...

I used to read Rashad?s translation of the Quran for about an hour everyday and I do remember a lot of it, as soon as I started to realise that there were many errors in it I started reading less of it. Until a few weeks ago I?ve hardly read anything at all -X. Some translators have translated the Quran in Elizabeth English and it is SO hard to understand it and I am sick of looking in the dictionary every 2 minutes -[. I hate the fact that the vast majority of translations of the Quran are mixed up with the hadith and have added notes in brackets to supplement the Quran -[. Since rejecting Hadith and Sunnah I always thought Islam was an easy religion and submission.org lead me to believe that everything Rashad said was enough for my salvation and I just had to follow it. -\
Blindly Following Rashad?s translation of the Quran and everything he initiated to supplement the Quran seemed simple and I was quite happy about that, now that I have discovered multitudes of his errors I feel totally lost, and I struggle to read five minutes of any translation of the Quran because it feels so fruitless. And therein lies the test. This life is a distinguishing mechanism. Only an illogical/unappreciative person would not read the book God sent for them (if one believes it to be the Word of God that is, which I assume most Muslims do).
Actually most people I know would love to know Arabic, but being told that its so difficult to interpret the Quran most people are put off learning the Quran and just rely on scholars and/or follow one of the four madhhabs. Even that is not an ?easy option? since relying on scholars does not come cheap and the four maddhabs contradict each other badly yet all four are supposed to be right. ??? There is also a hadith out there which says that if one interprets the Quran with their own opinion they will be in hell. Plus I recall someone from a Muhammaden forum quoting a verse form the Quran which says ?ask those who have knowledge of the scripture? but what freaked me out was the Quran says those that misguide others will be in hell with the ones they misguided.
My family don?t follow the Quran alone like I do and they actually discourage me from reading any translation of the Quran other then the one we have on the shelf (which is contaminated with a ridiculous amount of notes and quotes form hadith, thus it is virtually impossible to know which part is the Quran and which part is the hadith).
They never allow me to debate with them about religion and I am expected to agree with EVERYTHING they say about Islam. It was actually their idolizing of Muhammad that made me question my beliefs as an Orthodox Muslim. My family idolize Muhammad MUCH more then most of the corrupt Muslims, sometimes I feel as though they are consciously worshipping him. Even most of the corrupt Muslims would probably agree with me that the lengths my family go to revere Muhammad is blatant shirk.
However my family have made their mind up and believe that if our local imam is incorrect with his teachings on Islam he will pay for their sins, not them. I can?t debate on the matter with them because all the hadith they follow abrogate all the Quranic commandments.

www.islamawakened.comFrom the studyquran site, i recommend you the AhmedAli translation, the QXP(shabbir Ahmed), the freeminds(from this site), Muhammed Asad's, and the literal translation from ahmed and samira. If you use these five, you get the best understanding. Don't be discouraged. Keep studying! Let God guide you more...
