Why did you choose the Quran instead of other scriptures like the bible?

I will be straightforward.
I know the Qur'an first, and I don't have any first-hand experience with the other books until my teens, and by that time I am not impressed by any of them, probably because I've been taught that they're corrupt versions of God's word.
Only later on I came to seriously consider them, and among them I'm not impressed by the Bible, a book where the errors start at page one. The Qur'an turns out to be different from what I thought it is; it's deeper and more inclusive than some traditionalist teachings I've received.

Like most people I chose the Quran because the Bible had been corrupted and is very unreliable.
However this Christian guy I knew also believed that the Bible was not accurate and had numerous errors, he also did not believe that it was the direct word of God either. Ironically whenever some one said the Bible had been distorted he was deeply offended. He did confuse me a lot since he thought only idiots thought that the Bible was the direct word of God. ???
But he also said he would never follow the Quran because a hadith reported by Bukhary claimed Muhammad married a 9 year old, yet this guy stupidly believes it and he has no idea what is written in the Quran. Because of the absurd lies written in the hadith about Muhammad he has no intention of studying the Quran.
One of my Christian work mates told me that she never reads the Bible because she can?t understand it, so she uses colorful little story books that are aimed at children which explain the stories in the Bible to understand it, lol I did that too. ;D

Yeh, very true bro regarding the errors starting at the very first page, i believe you mean how come God seperated the light and darkness in day one then in day 5 God did the same thing again and created the lights including the two big ones "The sun and the moon"?, another question is this, how the plants were created in day 3 and it should be dependant on the sun that was created in day 5?
The most confusing point is this, how come the bible is counting the day and night from day 1 while they were sperated in day 5?
see, too many contradiction in the first few lines in page 1 in the bible

I don?t know about the OTHERS? According to my understanding, ?to believe in ONE GOD and DO GOOD DEEDS? is enough to qualify and be amongst the winners on the JD.
And as to THOSE WHO BELIEVE and DO GOOD DEEDS, He will pay them fully THEIR REWARDS; and Allah does not love the unjust. 357.
SURELY those who say, OUR LORD IS ALLAH, then THEY CONTINUE ON THE RIGHT WAY, THEY SHALL HAVE NO FEAR NOR SHALL THEY GRIEVE. 4613.
These are the dwellers of the garden, abiding therein a reward for what they did. 4614.peace.

bro,I believe in all that you have mentioned. But the main emphasis is, Allah the Day of Judgment and GOOD DEEDS.
- Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ALLAH and THE LAST DAY and DOES GOOD-- they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve.
98 7. (As for) those who believe and DO GOOD, surely they are the -best of men.
- And all have degrees ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY DO; and your Lord is not heedless of what they do.
17 9. Surely this Quran guides to that which is most upright and gives good news to the believers WHO DO GOOD that they shall HAVE A GREAT REWARD.
593.On those who believe and DO GOOD there is no blame for what they eat, when they are careful (of their duty) and believe and DO GOOD DEEDS, then they are careful (of their duty) and believe, then they are careful (of their duty) and DO GOOD (to others), and Allah loves those WHO DO GOOD (to others).

Then We gave the Book for an inheritance to those whom We chose from among Our servants; but of them is he who makes his soul to suffer a loss, and of them is he who takes a middle course, and of them is he who is foremost in DEEDS OF GOODNESS by Allah's permission; this is the great excellence.

And they shall cry therein for succour O our Lord ! take us out, WE WILL DO GOOD DEEDS other than those which we used to do. Did We not preserve you alive long enough, so that he who would be mindful in it should mind? And there came to you the warner; therefore taste; because for the unjust, there is no helper.

And every soul shall be paid back fully WHAT IT HAS DONE, and He knows best what they do.

You will see the unjust fearing on account of what they have earned, and it must befall them; and those who believe and DO GOOD shall be in the meadows of the gardens; they shall have what they please with their Lord that is the great grace.

That is of which Allah gives the good news to His servants, (to) those who believe and DO GOOD DEEDS. Say I do not ask of you any reward for it but love for my near relatives; and whoever earns good, We give him more of good therein; surely Allah is Forgiving, Grateful.

And He answers those who believe and DO GOOD DEEDS, and gives them more out of His grace; and (as for) the unbelievers, they shall have a severe punishment.

And Allah's is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, that He may reward those who do evil according to what they do, and (that) He may reward those who DO GOOD with goodness.

Then as for him whose GOOD DEEDS are preponderant, these are the successful.
-
Surely (as for) those who believe and DO GOOD, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement.
