What is the minimum wage in the European Union? Particularly, in Italy. I don't live near EU . I'm offered an outsourcing job from Italy. However, the company is asking me about the salary that I expect. Thus, I need to know the minimum wage as a reference. May sound individual request though. Sorry, for that

    TIA,
    Pinczakko

      As salamu alaykum.
      Respectfully.

I live in Slovenia and i can tell you this even though Slovenia is in the EU, we still get way less money then any other EU country (400 USD a month!!!!!)

So, Italy probably has minimum wage of 1000 Euros. Of course, you'll have to check this but my uncle is a construction worker in belgium and he receives 1000-1500 Euros a month so you can understand that if you have higher education level, then it's much more then that.

You still have to check. And for what education level?

      As salamu alaykum.

as far as im aware Italy doesn't have a set minimum wage, try google some info.

In the UK, its about ?5 per hour = 7.25 EUR = $9

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

          Salam.

In Italy, like other EU countries - Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, UK - you can get as much as 1.000 EURO, which is around $1.100 USD. I think.
It all depends where you wanna work.
My uncle in Belgium is in the construction business and he gets 1.000 EUROs.
I got two cousins in germany and they also get the same amount.

In Slovenia, which is a EU country since May, 1., 2004, the minimum wage is $400 USD a month so, please, please do not come to work to Slovenia, because after two days you'll be running away!

          Peace.

Living in a low wage/cost society is not always a disadvantage. In fact it can present many business opportunities in exporting, e.g. like China has done.

If I was a member of this forum living in such a country I would try to identify products to sell abroad. Items manufactured in the country are best.

In fact, one doesn't even have to live there as I'm sure members have relatives in many of these countries worldwide.

              Salam.

As of 1.1.2007 we will be having Euro instead of Slovenian Tolar and my salary will still be low.
We still have minimum wage something like 2 Euro an hour and that will remain until someone remembers to start a revolution.

              Peace.

                peace,

Is it true that one can use the same electrical item in Slovenia and the UK?

The following information is according to Wikipedia

                UK mains electricity 240V, 50Hz (3-pin plug, Type G)
                http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ImageG_plug.png

                Slovenia mains electricity 230V, 50Hz (2-pin plugs, Types C and F)
                http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ImageC_plug.jpg
                http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ImageSchuko_plug_and_socket.png

We have a modified Type C in the UK but this is mainly found in bathrooms for shavers
                http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ImageUKShaverSocket_-_cropped.jpg

I dont know much about electricity but since the Voltage (V) and frequency (Hz) are very similar in Slovenia and UK, is it possible to just change the plug so an electrical item from Slovenia will work in the UK? I know you can buy a transformer/converter but it would be nicer without one.

                Any ideas?

                  Salam.

Sorry for the late reply, brother.
I think you can use the same items in Slo and the UK.
Most of the items you can use all over the Europe, i think.

                  Peace.

I have since been told all you need to do is change the plug for items in Slovenia to be used in the UK.

The reason I ask is I sometimes import items from other countries. Need to work out cost-effectiveness first though.
